This working farm is situated half way between Inverness and John O'Groats overlooking the village of Brora and has the grandeur of a stately residence, but the atmosphere of a relaxed home. We offer travellers a warm welcome, comfortable room and delicious breakfast.
Whether you're a returning visitor, enthusiastic cyclist, travelling Orkadian, golfer, hoping to catch some fish or just experieincing everything the beautiful Highlands has to offer for the fist time, Clynelish Farm will provide the perfect place to lay your head, relax and refuel.
This historic farmhouse was built by the Duke of Sutherland in 1865. Guests wind their way down the tree lined drive way to be greeted by an impressive front entrance. Situated next to the Distillery of the same name, this is the perfect place to start exploring Sutherland.
The village has a pub, chippy, hotel restaurant, bistro and Indian, so plenty of choice (relatively speaking) for a Highland village! Head East and you'll find Brora beach is one of the nicest in the highlands. Head West and wind your way up some of the beautiful glens in the area.
Your hosts can tell you the best place to see fish jump, best view of the beach, best place for seals and all sorts of other information that comes with having explored the area ourselves. This is a working family farm, with 80 suckler cows and 600 ewes, so during spring and early summer you'll no doubt witness some of natures miracles if you take a wander around the local lanes!
Victoria and Jason were willing to give us a warm, friendly welcome on a dreadfully bleak, windy and wet evening. We felt instantly at home with warm drinks and a warmer fire and laughter almost immediately. Our accommodation was beautifully comfortable and warm. Breakfast was plentiful and in a beautiful room with an amazing view over the North Sea. Victoria was friendly and an obliging hostess, who would not allow any of us to help but was ready to find anything for us that was required.
Our stay was a beautiful highlight for our children as their father entertained us with the stories of his childhood memories in Brora.
We would highly recommend a stay at the Brora Farmhouse. It was a wonderful visit and we hope to come again and enjoy the beauty of this home again. Thank you both for your hospitality!

Staying here was a dream come true. Victoria has the heart of a champion and goes to great lengths to please her guests. The room was spacious with comfortable beds, the heating system worked well, and the shower had plenty of hot water. The property is enchanting with a deep sense of history. Victoria will cook any breakfast you like and prepare it well; this was greatly appreciated. The walk to Highland Farm to and from the Brora rail station was fine for us; Victoria generously offered us a lift which we declined. We spent one day hiking from Highland Farm along the beach to Dunrobin Castle, then to Golspie, up to and back from Ben Bhraggie, and then the train back to Brora. A highly-recommended full and tiring day after which we greatly appreciated the quiet of our room. Well done Victoria!
The best breakfast on our stay in Scotland! Victoria was so welcoming and friendly. We were really charmed by the house and its perfect location tucked in the highlands but close to great food, whiskey, and outdoors fun. The best was sitting by the cozy fire and doing a whiskey tasting at the end of the day. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
We had a wonderful time staying in Brora. Victoria's home is absolutely beautiful--it looked like it belonged in a fairytale. My group especially loved staying up in the living room with the fire chatting--it was very cozy. Victoria was very accommodating and pleasant. Brora was a charming town and close to Golspie, which had fantastic hiking. I would recommend visiting!
This stay was a highlight of our trip, the location and accommodation is first class and worth a trip to Scotland just to stay on this Highland farm in Brora. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and totally enjoyable; we wish we had planned to stay longer, and certainly will first check availability at this location when planning any future visits to Scotland. The views over the farm from the bay windows of this beautiful home are a tourist attraction in themselves.
Victoria was a perfect host, prepared a generous and delicious breakfast and made us feel totally relaxed and welcome. Every travellers need is catered for with a comfortable bed and totally peaceful quiet nights. A relaxing, huge, well furnished lounge room is available for guests.
The Clynelish Distillery is 2 minutes walking distance from the farmhouse.
Thank you Victoria for being a wonderful host and we hope we can be back again.
This is a real state of the art B+B, the best we had in Scotland. Victoria prepares a very fine breakfast. She shows great hospitality. We were delighted with our stay.
The house is an old nice house, the presence of the cows makes it special.
We were six people staying one night at Victoria's beautiful house and we were all very satisfied with our stay. We enjoyed a good breakfast and Victoria was very nice and helped us with travelling advice. The place was also tidy and neat and with that said I can do nothing but recommend her place :)
We arrived late in the evening, and left early next morning so we didn't have the time to enjoy the place as much as it deserves. Really beautiful building, with amazing surroundings, it seems to have been taken out from a fairy-tale. We were the only guests that night and the place was as calm as it can be. It was such a shame we couldn't stay longer! Victoria was really nice and breakfast was great, so what else can you ask for???
We had a great stay in Brora at Victoria's b&b. Extremely well presented estate house and the breakfast was one of the best of the entire trip. Her home-cooked ham was delicious.
We also took a tour of the distillery and played golf at Brora which was a great experience.
I would definitely stay again if I get a chance.
Staying with Victoria was an absolute pleasure. We stayed for 6 nights and used Brora as our base to explore the Highlands. Her farmhouse is so cute and homely and Victoria made us feel right at home from the beginning. Her breakfasts are restaurant worthy and we felt so spoilt every morning. The rooms are very comfortable and cosy but the biggest highlight is Victoria herself who always had a moment free to chat and give us tips on the best sights to explore. Thank you for a lovely stay! We highly recommend this B&B.
