The location was amazing for quiet and solitude, aside from the welcomed occasional monkey visitors. Margaret and Nick arranged a boat and ride for me on my arrival (going rate of $60) with a gorgeous boat ride. I did not know how far we were from the few businesses in Zancudo (by the way, there is no bank or ATM), and would highly advise having a vehicle. On arrival Margaret had eggs and butter in the fridge and Nick's girlfriend brought a loaf of freshly baked bread. Very kind. A few things did not work around the house, but that is often a challenge in the jungle. The kitchen had all the equipment one could want and the house is spacious. However, due to the closed design of the house and the fact that it is set back from the ocean breezes, it was very, very warm during our visit. The house is well fashioned with many ceiling fans and a few box fans, though we were told the electricity is expensive. It would be wise to be clear on costs so that you are sure you have enough cash with you, due to the banking situation and the possibility of extra add-ons (surfboard or bike rentals, etc.) Emilio with his fruit and vegetable truck was another high light, with fresh fruit. The beach (3 minute walk) was amazing with NO ONE around. So beautiful. Zancudo really is a undiscovered gem and this house is quite a good value for being so close to such a gorgeous and secluded beach.

Hi, we are just coming back from our wonderful vacation in Zancudo. Margaret and her son Nick made sure we had a good time, providing us with the info we needed. The house is big enough for two couples or like in our case- 2 room mates. We had warm water in the showers and a hose and a shower for outside. Screens on all the windows and the Bugs were pretty much gone after the rain ended. The beach is very close by and the most relaxing experience. Great for walking every day! For anybody that needs some time off- the place to go! Thank you Margaret!

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the house for a month and were very pleased with the place. Margret and her son are great hosts and live very close by they are always willing to help with anything that is needed. The house is quiet and very relaxing. It is spacious and despite a lack of AC excessive ceiling fans kept the house cool and breezy. The amount of wildlife around the house was amazing three different kinds of monkeys, iguanas, beautiful birds and butterflies were all daily sights. We were even able to hand feed some of the monkeys bananas. The beach is a short walk and 95% of the time you are the only one on it. The fruit truck comes Thursday and Sunday and is stocked with local fruits and veggies that are very fresh and delicious. We had a great time.

The Jungle House, Zancudo. The house sits comfortably back from the road, across from the beach. Although you cannot see the powerful ocean, you can hear and feel the waves from the house. The beach is practically secluded 24/7... absolutely amazing! Jungle living allows for spectacular animal (and plant) sightings, including 3 species of monkey, dozens of reptiles, nesting birds, and Blue Morpho butterflies. The house feels like a wildlife sanctuary outside, and one can spend a lot of time observing from the front porch. Bring insect repellant; Zancudo is rich with life, including bugs that bite. If you choose to cook here, you'll find the kitchen well-appointed, with a full fridge and freezer, juicer, blender, drip coffee and a propane stove (if you need to refill the tank, just take it down to Tres Amigos and they will exchange it for $20.) We traveled here as a family, and the house was clean and ready when we arrived. For families, the house is spacious and in a safe location. Margaret was very kind to buy a crib for our infant daughter to make it comfortable for us. It is helpful to have a car here. The boats do not run regularly out of Golfito and private taxis are expensive because of the long, rocky roads. If you need supplies, (to stock the house) any one of the small stores in town will likely have it (toilet paper, soap, trash bags, etc.). The town of Zancudo is extremely laid back and quiet. Locals are friendly and will help when they can. Find Ellie (aka Las Bravos) for baked goods and pizza by order, and Emilio comes on Sunday and Thursdays with produce. I would recommend this home for anyone who is flexible in spirit and loves the outdoors. Margaret is great at making herself available but allowing lots of privacy too.

Großes Haus mit allem was man braucht. Der Strand ist nur einen kurzen Weg über die Straße. Sehr ruhig und ein guter Platz zum abhängen oder entspannen in der Natur.
