Nestling in the heart of the picturesque village of Inistioge, The Pottery is a four bedroom house that sleeps up to 8. Formerly three cottages, which have been lovingly renovated into an exceptional and unique home, it forms an ideal base for families and friends to enjoy Inistioge and to discover the delights of the surrounding area.
Originally 3 artisan cottages which were transformed into a potter’s workshop, the Pottery is now a warm and welcoming family home. Elegantly situated in the centre of the village, the house is situated in a secluded private site off the main square. Off street parking leads to the peace and quiet of the carefully tended gardens, where one can sit overlooking tranquil views of the river Nore and surrounding countryside.
The Pottery has a warm, homely atmosphere; from the moment you step through the old stable doors, you enter an eclectic, old world ambience with all the conveniences of a modern home. The large family dining room, an invitation to many a long, languid meal and the rear patio for al fresco dining can make for an unforgettable experience. The accommodation offers four beautifully furnished and decorated bedrooms; 3 doubles (one ensuite with shower) and one twin, main bathroom; a modern kitchen with all mod cons (electric oven & hob, Stanley stove for special home-baking, fridge, utility room with all washing facilities and second fridge/freezer). A large comfortable living room with original fireplace seats up to ten on a variety of sofas and chairs.
Outside, the front yard provides a perfect setting for breakfast, capturing the morning light, and in the rear garden you will be transported to the Irish tropics! Unusual and exotic plants create a wonderful setting for evening barbeques and gatherings. A terraced garden to the side of the house over-looks the river Nore, where fishing and canoeing are worthwhile activities!
The village amenities include three local pubs, a well-stocked shop, a café and restaurant open year round, gift and antique shops.
If you are a keen fisherman or a novice, arrangements can be made with the local guide for fishing trips during the season along with canoeing adventures, so please do not hesitate to ask for more information on these activities.
Inistioge is a beautiful rural Irish village surrounded by woodland and scenic countryside, the perfect place to take a break and enjoy the natural world of Woodstock Gardens, 5 minutes’ walk from the house. This little village was absolutely charming. There is a walking tour of the town that shows lots of interesting little spots that you would never know are there--an old well up the hill that has ancient stone carvings for example. Take the walking tour. It is well situated to travel south to Waterford or Wexford, or north to Kilkenny, which was a wonderful town. We had a little trouble locating the place so when you was the folks in town, don't say THE POTTERY because the people in town don't know it by that name. They know it as someone's old place--maybe Anna--ask David and Jadzia what to ask for--but the house itself is very charming.
Myself and three friends spend the weekend in the Pottery in Inistiooge. What an amazing house and gardens.! Great location in the Village. Lovely walk to Woodstock. Jadzia and Dave were great hosts and gave us lots of (website hidden) Mullens well worth a visit. Also New Ross is very near and we had a cruise on the river with afternoon tea for €12!
Altogether a lovely stay. Everything you want in the house including a lovely cosy fire which we lit despite the gorgeous weather. What can be nicer than to relax with friends by the fire over a glass or two of wine!
I would highly recommend it and would love to go back. Maria
Loved this cottage in Inistioge. If I could pick it up and take it home to Australia I would be a very happy lady. Peaceful and cosy but still roomy enough for our eight adults. Only problem was the length of our stay was too short. A great place to explore Ireland.
We stayed here during 4 nights with my family of 7. A lovely, cozy house with fireplace and the best beds we slept in! (wanted to take them back home...) The kitchen is fully equiped for all you might need. Don't forget the pastryshop across the street; pavlova to die for!
You will love this cottage and your stay in Inistioge. The Cottage is beautifully decorated with a lovely mix between old and new. Everything is clean and fresh and you have everything you will need for an enjoyable stay. The owners are extremely friendly, accomodating and helpful. The village and surrounding area is beautiful with 3 nice pubs on your doorstep and a lovely cafe / restaurant across the road (Circle of Friends). Plenty to do and see. The beds / bedlinen were all very comfortable and the kitchen has all necessary equipment and plenty of it. The cottage and rooms are bright and spacious. You will enjoy your stay here and we have already decided that we will return.
The house is gorgeous, as it Jadzia. A very welcoming woman who really helped us out at the last minute! Really appreciate the little touches too such as providing milk after our long trip there. Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay in Jadzia and Dave's lovely cottage. Jadzia and Dave were friendly and helpful. Recommended.
We really enjoyed the experience in Inistioge. It is a lovely village set in a ludicrously idyllic landscape. The Pottery has been lovingly restored and Jadzia provided some lovely touches to make us feel at home.
This is a beautiful cottage in a lovely part of the world. Jadzia and Dave are excellent hosts.
Seven of my closest friends and I had an amazingly peaceful stay at Jadzia's house. I couldn't recommend the house enough. It's crammed with character and decorated beautifully. Lots of space for us all and very cosy. Inis Tioge is a wonderful part of the world and the house is ideally located. Jadzia and Dave were extremely accommodating and lovely to deal with. They left food for our arrival and the house was nicely stocked with salt, pepper and other items one hopes might be in the house! Beds were very comfortable and everything besides carefully considered. I hope to be back.
