The space

Welcome to my beautiful home where you will find all the comforts of home from home. My home is situated just 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Salthill promenade. The bus stops outside my house which will take you into the city centre in 10 minutes or, alternatively you can walk in 30 minutes along the seafront

The house has wifi, cable tv and off street parking. My guests have access to the kitchen and some living areas. However, use of the kitchen for evening meal is to be discussed when booking accommodation. I offer a complimentary light breakfast of tea/coffee with homemade brown and white scones with preserves, cheeses, cold meats, fruit etc. There are laundry facilities available at €20 per load. I have a second room of the same standard which can be viewed in my photo line-up so please contract me regarding availability.

My home is situated in the village of Salthill which has an array of coffee shops, restraunts and night life. The beautiful promenade runs to the olders part of Galway, the Claddagh and from there to the Spanish Arch and the Latin Quarter of Galway. The citry offers a wonderful eclectic mix of resterants, coffee shops, pubs and shops. In addition, it is a medieval city with numerous walking tours, theatres, art galleries and all that Galway as the cultural capital of Ireland has to offer. For those looking for more rugged landscape, Galway is the gateway to Connemara renouned for its wild, beautiful and romantic scenery. There are many bustours to take you to Connemara and the Arran Islands so a car is not essential. The Cliffs of Moher are another 'must' and the tour bus will collect you in Salthill.

From Dublin Airport and Dublin City a non-stop bus get you to Galway in under 3 hours! So why not come and sample the delights of a truely unique city and a very warm welcome from Kathryn!!

Guest access

Guests have access to my kitchen where a beautiful breakfast awaits them each morning. If guests plan to eat in in the evening, this must be discussed when booking. In addition, they may sit in my sun room or in my lovely garden.

Interaction with guests

I will be at home to greet my guests. I provide them with maps and brochures to enable them to get the most out of their stay in Galway and surrounding areas. I will provide guests with information on all the good places to eat, music venues and the 'must' see sights.

Kathryn is the perfect host! She was full of great tips and information and made our family feel very welcome. The home is in a nice neighborhood an easy walk to the beach/promenade and the city center. We scored sunshine and had fun walking to the beach and enjoying summer fun. The home is cozy and Kathryn made a lovely, warm breakfast for us. The rooms (including Kathrynns and other guests) are all upstairs in close proximity (not much privacy) and although comfortable the full size bed was a bit small for two tall adults. Our teenagers were very cozy in their room. We recommend Kathryn's home to anyone!

Kathryn was a very friendly and caring host, giving us directions and advice for our stay in Galway and making sure we had everythig we needed. The location was ideal, a short bus ride to the center and walking distance to some bars and restaurants. Her home was clean and lovely and beds were comfortable. We are grateful to Kathryn for making our first experience using airbnb phenomenal!

Kathryn is really a wonderful host. We loved the location as just it's walking from the City Centre and has good connectivity via Bus. Kathryn came specially to pick us from the bus stop and the breakfast was good too! Looking forward for another pleasant stay!

Had a great time staying with Ms. Kathryn! She picked us up at the coach station and showed us around town a bit. The house is next to the Salthill promenade, next to the bus stop but walkable from town, and close to some really good restaurants. Already thinking about coming back!

Kathryn made arrangements for her daughter to meet us, and Debbie kept us well informed about timing etc. She also helped us to organise a meal and willingly answered our questions! We had a good night's sleep and a good breakfast to see us on our way. Many thanks.

Traveling with my husband and our mums, we had 4 wonderful nights at Kathryn's. Kathryn was generous and helpful with her communications leading up to our trip and planned to be on holiday for the time we were there. Her daughter, Debbie, was there to greet us, help us settle in and took great care of us for our entire stay. She was delightful and gave us some wonderful tips about Galway and we all enjoyed our conversations at breakfast. Home was beautiful and well cared for and in a lovely part of Salthill. We were all very comfortable and wouldn't hesitate to return. thank you!

Hi my name is Kathryn! I am a mature student at my local University. I love to walk our beautiful promenade, hike in connemara, cycle around the city and attend my local gym. Galway is the cultural capital of Ireland and I am an enthusiastic follower of the theatre, the wonderful music scene and all that the arts have to offer. In my down time I cook, bake and spend enjoyable hours in my garden. I love to meet new and interesting people. My home is warm, welcoming and open to you. I look forward to meeting you, hearing about your life and culture...please come and visit and share your experiences with us!
