We are a couple in our early 40s (+ baby now!, who lives in soundproof part of house!), liberal, creative professionals who like to cook/bbq/have a few friends over for occasional cocktails on the front porch. We're laid back (but like things tidy) and friendly, yet respectful of everyone's privacy. You will (NOT!!! actually!) also be sharing our home with our mature, indoor/outdoor cat--very sweet, docile and likes a good lap! (Update!: Kitty recently relocated to Kitty Heaven, but we keep the "we have pets here" button clicked on for this site because we often welcome guests who bring their well-trained pets!).
We think it's a great place, with an airy, breezy and relaxed vibe. Front porch has an amazing view, afternoon breezes and striking sunsets. (That said, if you're visiting LA in the summer, you probably already know that our lovely smog tends to make the view a bit cloudier than in the winter...but it makes the sunsets that much more brilliantly colorful!) Our fenced back yard has fruit trees, rose and vegetable gardens, lawn, hammock, firepit, (ping pong table and croquet set are available if desired), dining area under overhead grapevine strung with lights, and bbq. ...all in its "winter" (not super grWe share back yard with guesthouse cottage. This is a non-smoking house inside, but outside only smoking is fine.
Housewares and linens are provided...just bring your suitcase and groceries! TV and cable in your room if you want it, secure high speed wifi, monthly housekeeper and all other basic utilities are, of course, included. Plenty of street parking, usually within 4-5 driveways of our front door. No one really parks on this street unless they live here because it's such a steep street, and there are no permits required to park, or days you can't park for street cleaning, etc. So parking's pretty easy even though it's street parking only.
Cleaning fee - There is no cleaning fee if the place is left as you found it, with the exception of refreshing the bed linens and bath towels--we will launder those, of course. A $65 cleaning fee will be charged if anything more requires cleaning.

Jodi and Jason are the best! When I stayed with them I was by myself, passing through LA on a business trip. They made me feel at home. Their house is adorable and quirky, their baby daughter is very behaved (at least during my stay), the bed is comfortable, and the water pressure is fine. No complaints. It is also within walking distance of some great breakfast joints and other establishments. Jodi and Jason clearly love their neighborhood and can point you in the direction of some nice local spots. Highly recommend!
A wonderful first AirBnB experience for me. Jodi and Jason were both very cool and a great resource for my first time in LA. Parking was easy, room was clean and air-conditioned, and I loved napping in the backyard hammock when I wasn't checking out Silver Lake. I actually took a photo of their list of local restaurants and other attractions for use later in my trip. They even left me some homemade veggie quiche in the morning that I didn't eat only b/c I don't like eggs.
I really enjoyed staying with Jodi & Jason. They were very easy going and accommodated me on a last minute basis, as well as had the room ready for some of the extras that I asked for.
The location of the home is perfect, I arrived late at night, but by the next morning, I "got" why people moved to LA. The views from the house are awesome and you're not far away from a ton of fun bars and restaurants. There was even a flea market right down the street. The parking is easy on the street and Jodi & Jason made it even easier for me which was nice of them.
I would definitely stay here again.
Great hosts - friendly but unobtrusive. The room & house were lovely. We had a great stay. Would recommend.
Jodi and Jason have a beautiful home with superb views. They are gracious hosts and I very much enjoyed my stay with them. I would highly recommend their home to others.
Jodi and Jason's place in Silverlake/Echo Park was literally magical! It is a gorgeous 1920s home, well kept, with hardwood floors, and a view that is one of the best I've seen in the city. The neighbourhood is great, and is somewhere you can actually walk around. It's also close to several parks for running. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the rest of the house. Even though Jodi and Jason were away for the weekend, their directions were so friendly and professional. They really take care to give you all the information you need to get there, and to introduce you to the house and the neighbourhood. If I'm ever back in LA, this is the place I'd want to stay!
The house was centrally located (for me, at least). The room was sun-filled and clean. Jodi was gracious and helpful. The one caveat: there is a second AirBNB bedroom in the house, so you're sort of at the mercy of the other guests. The ones who were staying while I was there were great; they were quiet, went to bed early, and shared their French press coffee and English muffins in the morning. But Jodi did mention that the previous guests had been poker players who came home at 3 A.M. (Points for her honesty on that one, too.) So your best bet might be to reach out to her and see who else is staying there at the time. Otherwise, a perfect place.
Wonderful stay - I only met Jodi but all was perfect. I was looking for an apartment in LA & Jodi was very supportive.
Great neighborhood, good food nearby & intelligentsia coffee only a mile away!
We rented both rooms at Jodi and Jason's house for just one night, and we had a great time. Jodi was always very friendly and helpful, and their house is cozy and beautiful. Next time I need accommodation in LA, I will surely try to come back to this place!
