We are a couple in our early 40s (+ baby now!, who lives in soundproof part of house!), liberal, creative professionals who like to cook/bbq/have a few friends over for occasional cocktails on the front porch. We're laid back (but like things tidy) and friendly, yet respectful of everyone's privacy. We no longer have pets, but keep the "we have pets here" button clicked on for this site because we often welcome guests who bring their well-trained pets!
We think it's a great place, with an airy, breezy and relaxed vibe. Front porch has an amazing view, afternoon breezes and striking sunsets. (That said, if you're visiting LA in the summer, you probably already know that our lovely smog tends to make the view a bit cloudier than in the winter...but it makes the sunsets that much more brilliantly colorful!) Our fenced back yard has fruit trees, rose and (sometimes!) vegetable gardens, lawn, hammock, firepit, (ping pong table, boules set and croquet set are available if desired, and you will sometimes find them already set up), dining area under overhead pergola strung with lights, and bbq and smoker. We share back yard with guesthouse cottage. This is a non-smoking house inside, but "strictly outside only"-smoking is fine. Please remove all ashes and cigarette butts from property, down to our street-side trash cans before you depart!
Housewares and linens are provided...just bring your suitcase and groceries! Secure high speed wifi and all other basic utilities are, of course, included (with the exception of TV).
Parking - There is plenty of street parking, usually within 4-5 driveways of our front door. No one really parks on this street unless they live here because it's such a steep street, and there are no permits required to park, or days you can't park for street cleaning, etc. So parking's pretty easy even though it's street parking only.
Cleaning fee - There is a small cleaning fee (up to $35) for shorter stays, to cover laundering bed linens and bath towels. An additional cleaning fee (typically $30-55 more) applies if the place is left other than as you found it, and if anything more requires cleaning. Any additional cleaning fee can be deducted from the deposit.

We are sometimes working from home, or away from the house, and are happy to be available for advice about local places to visit, or answer any other questions about the area.
Please see more about our area, in the info above.
Mass transit nearby includes 3 or more bus line stops at our nearest intersection, 1 block away. Buses go downtown, to Glendale Galleria, Hollywood and beyond (though taking the bus to the beach might be a half day project!). Buses can take you to nearby metro (subway) stops, too. Many shops, places to eat, venues, etc., are within walking distance.
We request that any smoking you or any of your guests does be outside only. Please also keep all shared areas clean and tidy after use, including putting dishes in dishwasher after rinsing well, and wiping down countertops. Please respect quiet hours between 10pm and 8am as a courtesy to our neighbors. All doors and windows should be locked if you are the last one to go to sleep or if you are leaving the house (even if others are home when you leave...just to be safe!). We love our neighborhood, but it IS an urban area and we have been burglarized before! Additional information about the house and yard will be provided when you arrive. Please take a minute to read it over and let us know if you have any questions.
It was a very beautiful, spacious (we had the entire house for ourselves as no other room was booked) and especially quiet house.
We never met our hosts, but they provided us with all the necessary information.
Jodi and Jason were fabulous hosts. This was my first time using Airbnb and they made it so easy. So welcoming, so friendly, and a lovely home to spend a few nights. The bed is possibly the best bed I have slept on. A great first experience!
It was the perfect place to rent one room. It was cozy and clean and all those good things. I'd love to stay there again. It's in a great walkable location in Echo Park.
We loved staying at Jodi + Jason's house! We were very comfortable, and Jodi and Jason were very laid back and welcoming. The house is truly a gem -- it's in a great location to get around to bars, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. on foot, but also high up and out of the bustle and grime of the city. We loved sitting on the front porch for a beer around sunset, where it is surprisingly quiet and very serene. Definitely stay here if you're in LA!
Jodi and Jason were amazing. If you needed anything they were very reachable but you still had A LOT of privacy. They were very considerate and the house was very clean and comfortable.
I had a great stay at Jodi & Jason's place. Jodie was very accommodating and had everything prepared for my stay. Their place has everything you need for a comfortable stay. She even made sure I stayed cool in the 100+ degree LA weather. Highly recommended.
Jodi was kind although we met briefly. We stayed one night and didn't meet Jason. The house and interior are characteristic and our bedroom was clean. There were some interesting (nice) books in the guest room. I guess if you stay longer, it would be very relaxing here. Bathroom was clean too.

We are a couple of liberal, outdoorsy, creative professionals (+ 1 yr old baby now, too!), dividing our time between LA and Santa Barbara, who like to cook/bbq/have a few friends over for occasional cocktails on the front porch. We're laid back (but like things tidy) and friendly, yet respectful of everyone's privacy. After a quick tour, you may not even see much of us! We've been in the Echo Park / Silver Lake area for over 10 years, so feel free to pick our brains for local tips!
