The "pink room" is fully furnished with desk and linen in an artist's house in central Tucson. Room is available for women only, as there is a shared bathroom. It has wifi, and is a friendly house that includes an indoor and outdoor kitchen, and a large outdoor patio area if you wish to entertain.
I'm an artist with a 40 year career, and my work is found throughout my house, a personal gallery. There is a studio on the property where I teach workshops, and I love when fellow Creatives come to "join the conversation" - groups are welcome with artist and writer retreats. I'm a vegetarian (although you don't need to be).
The University of Arizona is just 15 minutes away with easy access to buses. Three major hospitals are 15 minutes away if you are a visiting nurse or intern. Around the corner is a friendly WIFI Cafe, a Mexican Bistro, a Polish restaurant, a health food Chinese restaurant, American breakfast cafe, bakery, a Tiki bar, and of course a convenience store. Sprouts market is 10 minutes away. Buses to downtown are a block away, and beautiful Sabino Canyon is 20 minutes drive.
Please smoke outside in smoking areas if you're a smoker. There are 2 indoor cats (Lulu and Lucy), and they are very friendly. Coffee and tea is always available. I have a big yard on a quiet street, but this is central Tucson and not pristine desert. There are the sounds of dogs, traffic, sometimes the sounds of children playing.
Guests have access to everything - dining areas, kitchens, yard, movie collection, and two friendly cats.
Interaction with guests
Friendliness and courtesy are important as well as respect for privacy.
Other things to note
It is always my joy when I see the household sharing a meal, creating friendships, and enjoying the garden. Because it is a common space guests are required to help keep it clean.
If you smoke please smoke outside on the patio. Help yourself to coffee and tea at any time. Lulu and Lucy are indoor cats, so please be careful not to let them outside - they just aren't ready for the "great outdoors" yet!

I'm a professional artist specializing in masks and community arts. I'm 63, love conversation and creativity. I'm a vegetarian, concerned with the environment, and have traveled internationally. I had so many good experiences with B&B's in the British Isles and Europe, where it is very traditional for families to open their homes, that I decided to try it myself. I had the same good experiences when I travelled in Indonesia, and stayed at "home stays".
Because there's a great wifi cafe around the corner, I no longer cook breakfast, but I do enjoy creating a bright, colorful, serene space for the women who come to visit, and am always happy to share what I know about Tucson and the Southwest. I love Arizona, especially its warm, sunny winters.
Renovating the 1962 Airstream trailor in the back yard, and creating a patio for it, has been my latest "art project"..........I love making things old new and inviting.
