Interaction with Guests
We are right around the corner if you need anything during your stay but we prefer to let our guests have the run of the house without feel "watched." We probably won't meet unless you need something :)
Midtown is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Atlanta. Centrally located to just about everything but safer and more residential than downtown. Midtown has it all - Piedmont Park, restaurants, bars/clubs, boutiques, offices, and entertainment. Surrounded by million dollar estate homes and stylish condos, our Victorian is one block from the Park on a quiet, safe residential street. Midtown is the Hollywood favorite - appearing in multiple films. In fact, our Victorian was Vince Vaughn's home in the Internship! If you're in town for work downtown or Midtown or hoping to catch a show at the Fox or explore the restaurant/bar scene, Midtown is where you want to stay.
In Atlanta your options are Marta, uber, or car rental. I can't say enough about Uber. It's a free mobile app - cheaper and faster than a taxi - all online - no money changes hands. As a local I use it all the time and I'm always impressed. Marta is great but there aren't a ton of stops - luckily the 10th st Marta stop is 4 blocks from our property. Car rental is another great option - off street parking with our property.
No smoking inside the apartment - please move to the porch. Be respectful of other neighboring guests with noise levels at night and in the morning ("quiet time" after 10pm and before 9am - soft voices, walking and talking during quiet time). Please move loud conversations and get togethers to local restaurants and bars. 3pm check in and 11am check out time is firm unless you get prior written approval. You may use any of the staple ingredients (oil, milk, sugar, etc) and coffee free of charge during your stay. We ask that if you drink any of the alcohol (if there is any in the unit at the time) that you leave what you think is fair or replace it :) Enjoy your stay! And you can always contact us if you need anything!
Jane was a great host and helped throughout the booking process. The location is superb for Midtown, the park etc. Great restaurants on the door step and a walk to the store. The bed was very comfortable ( one of the best ever!). I would reccomend this highly.
The directions for entering the apartment were very accurate and easy to follow. There was a binder of local places to eat and food that might be delivered. Having the laundry facilities were a huge plus while staying with a toddler. We enjoyed staying here for our time in Atlanta. Nicely decorated unit too.
The unit at Jane's house met our needs perfectly! It was comfortable and ideally located. We loved getting to stay in a house on a quiet street but still be able to walk to fun bars and excellent food.
We’re from Savannah and wanted to get together with my son and youngest daughter in Atlanta over Christmas. We wanted something “in town” and Jane’s 2 bdrm apartment fit the bill. We actually rented this apartment for my eldest daugher and her husband coming in from Brooklyn NY and the downstairs apartment (Apt #1) for my wife and I and youngest son. The apartments (three) are actually in a renovated house. The house is located a block away from Piedmont Park. Five minute walk and you’re in a great park with walking trails, soccer fields and open areas. It was cold and a bit grey during our stay but the park was still really nice. I can only imagine how nice it would be in the Spring and Summer. If you ride bikes, the Beltlline is right there. The neighborhood is filled with old houses that have been renovated and is very pleasant to walk through and we always felt safe. Jane really has it together, she supplied a binder with all the local eating establishments with locations AND reviews. Have to say the ones we tried: Flying Biscuit; Zocalo’s, and Woodys were great and they were all within walking distance too! For groceries there is a Trader Joes within walking distance and a Kroger and Publix a short car ride away. If you are driving there is parking behind the house. A bit trickey to find the alley to get to it but you’ll get there. If you don’t have transportation there are bus stops nearby and also MARTA. The apartments are EXACTLY as pictured. They are nice, REALLY nice. Open, and airy and lots of light. Beds are comfy, bathroom was clean. Living room/kitchen was very comfy with a nice. Kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/glasses and utensils. You just needed to bring food and you’re set.
My only recommendation to Jane would be to get a better router. WiFi was very spotty. This apartment had good reception but our apartment was a bit iffy. Don’t let the minor quibbles deter you from staying here, the apartments are really GREAT! They feel like a home. I’d stay here a again in a hearbeat!!!! Thanks Jane.
Yes description and pics were spit on. The host had also compiled a neighborhood map and guide that was helpful.
i had a wonderful stay at Louise and Jane's place. the apartment is exactly how it was described, Louise was very flexible and let me check in early to be able to drop my luggage which was so helpful to me. Neighborhood is one of the best in Atlanta. Only downside during my stay was the wifi connection, terrible. but overall i would recommend this lovely place in a heartbeat and i would stay again.
