Enjoy 750sq ft of fully private space with your own entrance, queen bed, den, futon, full bath & kitchenette. Features a hot tub, outside seating area & a wood stove that we will maintain on those cold winter nights. Your space is on the first floor of our 2 story house & is all yours. The house is nestled on .5 acre wooded lot, 15 mins E of Asheville, 3 mins off I-40 & near the quaint town of Black Mountain. We are surrounded by trees in a quiet neighborhood.

The space
Your own living area, bedroom and bathroom in a unique private space featuring a 6 person hot tub (that can be used at anytime), a private entrance & a wood burning stove for those cold winter nights. A sunny breakfast spot in our landscaped backyard gives you an outdoor space to relax.
This rental is available on the 1st floor of our smoke-free home. We live on the 2nd floor w/our kitty & use another entrance. Our cat is friendly but we keep her upstairs with us. If you want to meet "The Princess" let us know- she will be please to have her "servants" bring her to you.
The private space is 700 square feet with a private bedroom (queen bed), private bathroom (with shower), private entrance off the driveway, private living room (with double bed futon), a wood burning stove, and central air/ heat. We have wireless internet with access to Netflix via your computer. Towels, sheets, blankets, hairdryer, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, make-up remover pads, a space heater/fan, a sound machine, extension cord, 1st aid kit, are all provided. The kitchenette area has a mini-refrigerator microwave, and coffee maker but no other heat source (for your safety). Coffee, cream, sugar, tea, mugs, cup, plates, bowls and utensils are all provided. The hot tub is within feet of the home so that it is hidden from the distant neighbors. We will give you full privacy to the hot tub by keeping all blinds closed and not accessing that area. Feel free to use the hot tub and outside spaces anytime.
We have provided you with our recommendations for restaurants and brewers, as well as, maps and descriptions of local hiking trails. We love our wooded neighborhood with big lots. We are on a dead end road that continues up the mountain, so there is little traffic. There is no need for a 4 wheel drive vehicle even though the road is gravel since it is flat until higher up on the mountain.
Also, Chris co-owns Pisgah Mountain Bike Adventures, a mountain bike touring company that specializes in custom mountain bike tours in Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Recreational Forest. Let the locals show you the best that the local mountain bike trails have to offer.
Come relax in our peaceful environment!

Guest access
A private entrance off of the driveway and under a carport, leads to a private den, bedroom, and bathroom. We will provide you with your own key for a self-check in. The outdoor hot tub is available for use day or night and we will leave you all the privacy that you want by not accessing the area. In the coldest months, the wood burning stove will be maintained by the hosts due to difficulty in use of our complicated unit. Several clients have smoked themself out of the space for a limited period. Fires will be used for heating when the temperatures hover around freezing
Check-in starts at 5PM and check out is at 11AM.

Please let us know in advance when you want to use the hot tub and we will have the temperature set for the weather, so that it will be perfect when you get in.

We love our wooded neighborhood with big lots and friendly, quiet neighbors. Your will likely see and hear animals in our woods. Our home is on a dead end road that continues up the mountain, so there is little traffic. Because our part is not steep, there is no need for a 4 wheel drive car, even if it snows.

We enjoy meeting new people and traveling. Our other passions include being active in the outdoors and being around animals. We have been rock climbers for over 25 years and are enjoying more mountain biking now. I have started my own private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor and am able to have time to manage our Airbnb. I use to be a teacher and my husband, Chris, is continuing in this field as an English teacher at a high school. Chris also has a mountain bike guiding company called Pisgah Mountain Bike Adventures. We met while living in Boulder, CO in 1997 and married in 2004, just before moving here. We traveled to Thailand and Australia for the summer of 2008 and have visited in much of the US; living in both Colorado and California. More recently, we visited the Pacific Northwest and Sedona, AZ for some climbing and biking. For both of these trips, we stayed with Airbnb We have been hosts with Airbnb since 2013 as we have more house than we need. We believe that our place will give visitors a good taste of the feel of the Asheville area. This is because we live at the base of a mountain; have wildlife such as bears and hawks as regular visitors; are close to many trails; and have a wood-burning stove, an outdoor fire-pit, and an outdoor hot tub. We are happy to share information about the many local restaurants and breweries, as well as, our favorite local hiking/biking trails. You choose how much interaction you want with us, unless we are out camping and biking.
