Davide & Edwin came through at the last moment when we were desperate. Beautiful apartment, decorated nice, very clean, and spacious. Great location walking distance to trastevere. One of the nicest places we stayed at in italy.
Davide was a terrific host in Rome. He booked a car for us from the airport and arranged his schedule for our early arrival. The apartment is well appointed and it's in a fantastic location. You'll feel like a local.
The place was tastefully decorated and very clean. It was in a quiet neighborhood, however there was a dog barking and neighbors talking loudly most of the night. It was conveniently located to restaurants, but about 40 minutes walking to Vatican and Colosseum....the jacuzzi tub came in handy for sore feet! Davide was very responsive and helpful.
Hi, thanks for the great review! I suppose the dog and people were temporary guests of some apartment, like you, because it's the 1st time somebody claim its noise. As Rome is a big City, of course not all attractions can be close, but Trastevere itself is part of the historical center of Rome, and the best place to live on my opinion (peaceful during the day, full of restaurant and bar in the evening). For Google, Vatican and Colosseum at at 28 minutes from Via Mameli. Thanks again!
Great apartment. Close to everything. Will definitely stay here again
Davide's cousin met us when we arrived and our first impression was a nicely decorated apartment in a fun neighborhood. Down side was the place is a bit dark, and having the washer in the bedroom meant there was always a slight musty damp smell. The neighborhood is vibrant and fun but also noisy, bring your earplugs if you want some sleep! Kitchen is adequate but could really use some basics like salt, pepper, olive oil, paper towels. Good place, could be great.
Hi Jacquie, thanks for your stay and good review!
I can agree that the apartment is nto very bright, being on ground floor.
Instead I am a bit surprised about your noise note, as it's true Trastevere in some point can be very noise, but not Via Mameli and especially not this apartment because ALL its windows are upon an internal courtyard, so you can' ear nether the car noise.
A bit surprised about your washing machine comment, as it doesn't provide any smell (as washing don't use to provide): I can image it can be not comfortable using it when sleeping, for the noise, but I suppose my guests don't use to do that :)
Wonderful stay. Before we booked, we let Davide know that we were arriving on a red-eye flight and he kindly arranged for a mid-day check-in to accommodate our schedule.
The apartment looked exactly as it does in the photos -- it was nicely furnished and for a garden-level apartment, there was a lot of natural light in the kitchen and living room. We slept very well (good mattress!). There's a washer and dryer in the unit, as well as a dishwasher in the kitchen. Also, there's wifi (and a very reliable, strong connection).
Lastly - great location -- particularly because of the fresh market and fantastic bakery located around the corner. The next time we're in Rome, we would definitely consider staying at one of Davide's properties.

About the Host, Davide & Edwin
Hey It's Davide, an italian entrepreneur, ex actor, into architecture, design, art, vintage and...animal most of all. My 2 dogs are the children I don't have. I have never liked "total Ikea" and "grandmother's apartment" that so often I see on holiday apartments market. I would like like to offer something different to my guests; some of my apartments are basic and easy, some other are much luxurious, but all of them have an own personality, that probably cannot be found in a common hotel.
Edwin is my business partner, much clever then me in practical manual job, so he helps me keeping the apartments in order and welcoming the guests when I can't do that.
I expect to host respectful guests, easy going, smart enough to understand that communication and flexibility are important renting a private apartment: as traveller I know that each unit necessary has defects also other then strengths, and that the total perfection can be found at Hilton (maybe) ;)
So, I hope to host you and being in touch before, during and after your stay. If you will stay somewhere else, enjoy Rome and don't forget to visit some other wonderful place in Italy!
