1. Room, Apartment & Area
Are you looking for a big bright room in Prenzlauer Berg / Berlin? The room on offer is situated in a spacious 4-room apartment on the 3rd floor (no elevator!). It is a classic Berlin-house built around 1900, is newly refurbished and located just east of "Mitte". There ia a nice, big public park ("Volkspark Friedrichshain") around the corner, which is the district border of Prenzlauer Berg & Friedrichshain, two of the most popular and central districts.

The room has a small separate hall and a private entrance. The kitchen (dishwasher|micro-wave|kettle) and the large bathroom are shared (there is another smaller guest room for 1 person). The bathroom comprises of a combined bathtub/shower and a new washing machine.

Room Facilities:
- Double bed (200 x 160 cm)
- Big Sofa
- Dresser, coatrack and mirror
- Big desk / Chairs
- TFT TV set
- Wifi/Free Internet Access
- Wooden Floor, bay window and high ceiling

Towels, bed linen, hairdryer, iron and what ever you might need are provided for free as well as a selection of tourist information such as maps and brochures.

There are several supermarkets and restaurants within a five minute walk.

2. Public Transport & Distances
There are 3 good links to the public transport system:
- S-Bahn-Station "Landsberger Allee" which is a five minute walk from the house. From there you will reach both Berlin airports Tegel and Schoenefeld within approx. 30 minutes.
- Tramway-Station "Landsberger Allee/Petersburger Straße". From there you can go to "Berlin-Mitte"/"Alexanderplace", "Friedrichshain" and "Prenzlauer Berg". Tram No. M10 connects both districts 24h from Monday to Sunday, at the weekend almost all lines operate 24h/round the clock.
- Bus station (Line 200/double-decker/8 min walk). From there you can reach most popular attractions (Brandenburg Gate/Reichstag/Avenue "Unter den Linden") nonstop within 15 minutes.

Examples of approx. distances from the apartment to:
- Alexanderplace: 2,5 km
- Hackescher Markt 3,5 km
- Brandenburg Gate 5 km
- East Side Gallery & O²-World: 3 km
- Velodrom (6 days|concerts) & indoor swimming pool: 200 metres

The apartment is located inside the circle line S 41/42 (public transport), which goes around Central Berlin.

3. Bikes
I own 5 bikes in total and I offer them to guests mostly for free. Please let me know in advance if you are interested.

4. Parking:
There are 2 big and free parkings just over the street. Mostly it´s even possible to park directly in front of the house. Officially they do not belong to the apartment! There is no other way to emphasise that the parking situation here is very good, what is very unusual for Berlin! However, approx 95% of guests they do arrive by plane, train or bus.

Guest Access

- Kitchen and big Bathroom (shared)
- Wifi - free Internet Access
- Bikes
- Balcony (e.g. for a coffee in the morning sun or to smoke)

Interaction with Guests

I am living in the apartment, too. At least when I am in Berlin. I am inside marketing/pr/tourism-business, so I am quite communicative. But for issues like this a closer check of reviews might be more significant, I guess.

Or to say it in different words:
If you are looking for a space being completely on your own = wrong place!
If you like a big, bright and quiet room with a separate flat door and being hosted at same time by somebody who knows Berlin excellent = right place!

Other Things to Note

- There is a 2nd smaller guest room for 1 person = there might be another guest during your stay!
- Smoking in guest room is not allowed but it´s possible to smoke on the balcony or sometimes even in the living-room/lounge.
