Villa Shimha went beyond my expectations. The room is gorgeous and even more beautiful in person. The views are amazing and you wake up feeling like a princess, as my driver said I would. They provide friendly staff to help get you around town, clean your room and prepare a delicious breakfast for you. The neighborhood is off the main Ubud road so you can walk to plenty of restaurants and shopping. The villa itself is way off the road down several winding steps so you feel remote and private and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Overall I would highly suggest anyone staying here. You will not be disappointed. I plan to return to Shimha again and again!

Absolutely beautiful setting and facility. Cab or other car services readily available if you want to go to center of town (or 20 minute walk). The view is stunning. Staff members were always helpful and friendly. We feel lucky to have found this secluded gem.

Beautiful villa with exceptional views, just as stated. Nicely decorated interior made the stay very zen with breakfast delivered from the adjacent restaurant, The Elephant, was amazing. 4* review all around. But do take a side note that because of its location in the mountains it's quite a far from the town's Center. We took a random taxi from strangers often around (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)IDR £3-£5 every time we went in and out of the villa. It's quite hard to get a cab of any sorts in Ubud as they don't have bluebird taxi or normal taxis (not that I ever saw), nor does Uber really works in Bali anymore as drivers are super selective w short rides! I had 5 attempts cancelled on us because they rather take longer rides. Also note (nothing to do w the beautiful resort or helpful host), you are in the middle of the jungle, your roommates/neighbors are frogs, geckos, ants (lots of them), hornets, flies, mosquitoes, roosters/cocks, etc.. there was literally 3 frogs and 6 geckos in our bathroom at one point! This is just something you have to accept when you are staying at a beautiful villa in the jungle. Also, because our villa was deep inside the resort/hotel, there was a long, long path to get there. We came home everyday around 9-11pm, it got scarier and scarier for us (my boyfriend and I) as frogs were just laying around and geckos were zipping in and out of our paths.. lighting was also very dimmed/non existent, we had to use our phones for light. We were never given new towels and because there was ants everywhere it was also all over our towels. I do think (hope) it's because they are trying to protect the environment. All in all, our stay was beautiful in the resort, despite the expected jungle insects/animals around. The location isn't great, but you can walk thru a non pedestrian friendly walkway to the Center in about 15-25 minutes or a cheap car ride from "hawkers".. The Elephant is also a beautiful, zen (vegetarian) restaurant.. Towels we can live with. Also, we never made any complaints to the very helpful host about the above as we doubt there was anything they can do about the location or the animals. Towels we let it go as we flung the ants off it. Life went on inside a beautiful, zen villa inside the crazy jungle.

One of the most magical places in the world. The view, the sounds, the decor, just everything was truly amazing. Bit of a walk down to the room and a bit of a walk to central Ubud but well worth it. Incredible villa with complete privacy and awesome staff. Highly recommend.

Our stay at Villa Shimha was the most enchanting part of our entire trip to Bali. Everything was perfect from the breakfast served daily to the beach towels provided in the cutest tote bag. Transportation to the main tourist attractions (waterfalls, rice paddies, etc) was easy to arrange and reasonably priced, but it is also only a short walk into the center of town. There is also a great cafe located on the same property, and ordering food from a delivery service was very simple, and they delivered it right to our door. Before the trip I was slightly nervous about the bugs in Ubud, but Villa Shimha was so clean and the bugs were not an issue at all. I could not have imagined a better place to stay, and would highly recommend this to any person traveling to Ubud.

The place is better than the pictures. It's just perfect for a couple. All that was said in previous positive reviews is true The host is great. She arranged massages for 2 at the villa at 10 PM on a Sunday without any notice. The internet is super fast. Just book it already!
