Marcia and Mark
Marcia and Mark were wonderful hosts. The place was beautiful, serene, no lack of character, and with the most comfortable bed. All the basics were provided including tasty coffee. Loved the outdoor colour coded shower! Very central, next to the farmers market and a block from the main road. If ever back in Ojai, we'd definitely stay with them again.
This was our first Airbnb experience and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place for our first adventure. The yurt is cheery and bright, colorfully decorated with a Bohemian flair. It is quiet and very private but still centrally located, making downtown Ojai fun and totally accessible. Great restaurants and shops are all within walking distance. The outdoor shower and bath were wonderful. We didn’t get a chance to use the fire pit but plan to on our next visit. Marcia is a wonderful host. She greeted us at the door and after showing us how to work the shower and a brief introduction to the yurt, left us to our privacy. Wish we could have met Mark and seen more of his artwork. I would absolutely recommend this amazing retreat to anyone looking for a unique place to get away from it all.
Our night in the yurt was nothing short of amazing. The amount of detail put into this special little home is truly awesome. Mark and Marcia have something really really cool here. Would recommend to anyone!
Honestly this experience was not what we expected. When I first entered the yurt, I noticed spider webs and a large spider hanging from the sunroof. Marcia was kind enough to help us clear the webs and get rid of the spider. Based on the description and many great reviews, we were expecting to enjoy a relaxing couple of nights under the stars of Ojai. Instead we were woken up early in the morning by the sounds of garbage trucks, cars and motorcycles, and the sound of a leaf blower on their property. With that many noise disturbances, there was absolutely nothing relaxing about this trip. We were also unable to see the stars from the yurt because tree branches obscured our views. I cannot deny the yurt was colorful and looked welcoming, and Marcia was very helpful; however, I walked away from this getaway extremely disappointed.
Mark & Marcia were lovely and made me feel very welcome and hospitable, like you were staying with old friends. This is truly a unique space with a bohemian vibe in a peaceful neighborhood. If you've always been curious about sleeping in a yurt or want a "glamping" experience, this is the space for you. My favorite parts were the heated floor and outdoor shower. So many creative, colorful touches to this magical home. You have your own private backyard area. Within walking distance to downtown Ojai but yet so quiet. I'd definitely stay here again.
This was a dream of a stay with Marcia and Mark. The yurt was colorful, comfortable, and simply marvelous. We were able to take a shower among the eucalyptus and oak trees, take a bath under the stars, and lay in bed and see the full moon through the yurt ceiling!
Marica and Mark made us feel welcome in their beautiful home. A true beautiful experience we won't soon forget. From afternoon cool-down showers outside to warm evenings listening to nightbirds by the fire, our time in Ojai was peaceful and pleasant. The yurt is a great home base to shops and the arcade -- it was easy to stop back at home to change clothes, drop off books, and otherwise relax between activities.
