  • Very friendly, clean room, lovely area. Note: no TV in the room, also no blinds so lacking privacy. About 45 minutes by train to get to Park Street station. Overall, generally good.

    Response from Joyce:

The photos of our room are AirBnb certified. There are high quality shades (not blinds) on all the windows. Each of them works well and can come all the way down or up. There is total privacy. If the guests did not know how to use them, they never let us know. We would have been happy to show them how simply they work.

  • The room and hosts were fantastic. The house is on a quiet street away from noise and traffic, but it's about a five minute walk to the train and and three minute drive to the highway (95). Because it was past mid April, I was able to park on the street without any problems.

The room is bright and cozy. I had plenty of space to stretch out and relax. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows and blankets. In addition, because the room is set off the rest of the house, you can control the room temperature.

Most importantly, Joyce was a fantastic host. She and her husband went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Before I arrived, they asked what I like for breakfast, and then they went out and got me favorite cereal/preferred milk. Also, every morning, I had fresh fruit, even though that wasn't requested.

This is really a great spot, and I couldn't have been more satisfied.

  • We recently went to Boston for the marathon and had a blast. This was the perfect place to stay; spacious room, close to the train, inviting garden to relax in. But the best part were the hosts themselves; warm, friendly, helpful in every way! Thanks a million for making the marathon even better!

  • This was my first experience staying in an Airbnb/B&B. Joyce and Lev were very kind and gracious hosts. Their home is lovely! It is conveniently located near the "T", and to a Car Rental Business as well (which Joyce was kind enough to drop me off at, so my daughter and I could rent a car for a day trip to Concord, Walden Pond, and a Pumpkin Farm!) Thanks Joyce! The room was beautiful, clean, private and quiet. Breakfast was perfect! I cannot imagine a more pleasant and comfortable first experience than my stay with Joyce and Lev. Thank you both! Lyndsey and I had a wonderful time together in a very comfortable, warm and happy place --- So much nicer than a hotel/dorm room! I would highly recommend Joyce and Lev's guest room/private bathroom, and look forward to seeing them again someday on one of my future trips to Boston.

  • Joyce and Lev, are very friendly. The house is in good condition and in a very safe neighborhood. They are very independent and make you feel comfortable. We travel from South America and wanted to find a quiet, relaxed place, escaping the cold atmosphere of the hotels. There was a lot parking for our car, and when we wanted to use the public transport service only we walked 5 minutes to the next station. The room is very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you Joyce and Lev

  • The house is very well decorated and in a perfect quiet neighborhood, with beautifully maintained backyard. The location is in proximity to the center of Newton, shops & restaurants. Boston is easily accessible via nearby highways and the train station.

The room is huge and full of light, beautifully appointed and with
excellent furnishings, very comfortable bed, and ensuite bathroom.

Joyce and Lev were extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
Highly recommended. Really enjoyed the stay - best experience ever!

We have been living in Newton for 31 years and raised our three daughters here. We are both musicians as are our girls, and our home has a beautiful music room with lots of instruments. Joyce is a retired acupuncturist and now spends much of her time as a medical clown with Hearts & Noses Hospital Clown Troupe. She is also a singer, pianist and fiddler and enjoys playing and performing in many different venues. Lev is a retired businessman who owned a very well known art and gift gallery in Brookline, MA for 27 years. He is a singer-songwriter, finger-style guitarist, and performs in the area every once in a while. Lev has one CD and one EP of all original songs. He is currently back in school and enjoying every minute of it.
