Terrific views of San Francisco Bay from our Mediterranean Villa-type home located in the Upper Diamond area of Oakland. Home includes a large spacious living room, kitchen, breakfast nook and dinning room. The breakfast nook and dinning room offer exquisite views of the SF Bay. There is cable TV in the living room and Internet throughout the house.
There are two bedrooms, one double bed and one queen bed—each bed has a new TempurPedic Mattress which are very comfortable. In each there is space to hang or store your clothes. You will find clean linens on your bed and plenty of clean towels. Each bedroom door has a lock and key for your use.
The kitchen offers some really handy things, including a Green Star Juicer, an Ice Cream Maker, Excalibur Dehydrator, Vita Mix Blender, and Dishwasher.
The breakfast nook is a great place to sit and drink tea or coffee in the morning—it always feels filled with sunlight. The separate traditional dinning room is a great place to have dinner around the large circular dinning table and watch the lights flickering over the SF Bay.
The laundry has a washer, dryer, iron, and Ironing board. But with the beautiful Oakland weather and our lovely large back yard, who needs a dryer?
There is one bathroom complete with tub and shower—also available is a hair dryer and flat iron. The Solar panels on the roof give a seemingly endless supply of hot water.
There is a huge backyard —which is relatively—it is a great place for children to play or cook over the coals outside and entertain friends. The back yard offers both shade and sunshine.
The deck to the front of the house is right outside the front door. It is also a great place to eat and entertain or just soak up the view. My wonderful home with its beautiful wood cabinets is reached by walking up about 55 steps—The steps make the house look like a castle but also keep it free from solicitors. The beautiful sunsets are your reward for climbing up.
There is loads of free parking right outside the house on the street. Also there is a double garage if you need to store some thing that you do not want to leave in your car or haul up the steps.
Just a walk away there is a variety of restaurants on Park Blvd. Also the Number 18 Bus runs to Oakland City Center and connects with Oakland's City Center BART Station.

This home is everything I've ever wanted when visiting Oakland, San Francisco, or anywhere in the Bay Area. Perched on top of the Oakland Hills in a great neighborhood, the views from inside the house and on its front terrace are simply magnificent.
What makes this home stand out is its owner, Ann (as well as it's beauty, charm, and the view). Airbnb is a mix of many kinds of people. Ann is the perfect combination of attentive, caring host and relaxed, laid back host. She answered all my questions within hours and was always kind and thorough.
The living room is large and filled with seating and windows. A perfect gathering spot. There is a sitting room that is a great place to read and look at the view. Off the living room is a formal dining room with the best view of Oakland in the house. My family enjoyed many breakfasts and dinners there and loved the old round table to sit and chat around. The kitchen is functional without being high end. Everything works and there is plenty of room to cook. We found everything we needed to prepare each of our meals. Our favorite part of the kitchen: the mandolin slicer. I need one now! There is a small basement with laundry facilities. There are two bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom. The larger bedroom is large with French doors that open onto a terrace with city views. The smaller bedroom is very comfortable and not too small for two people. Both beds are temurpedic and really comfortable. There is also a great back yard with grill and lines to hang your laundry in the sun (a treat for us Brooklyn residents).
All in all this is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the Bay Area. I can't wait to come back and stay the next time I'm in Oakland!
Yes, there are a lot of stairs to climb but getting to the top with luggage, grandkids and food for Thanksgiving was worth every step. The house itself was beautiful and comfortable (very comfy beds) and the view was enjoyed by us all both during the day and at night with all the lights aglow. We would love to stay again when we go to see family in that area as it was close to them as well as a nice neighborhood with stores and restaurants down the hill from the house. This was our first Airbnb experience and we were happy it worked out so well thanks to Ann (owner of the house) making this lovely place available to stay in - Thank you!
Ann's place was everything we expected and more. We felt right at home. Everything in the house was very clean and her nice kitchen appliances made cooking a joy. Ann was very courteous and promptly answered all questions we had. We amply recommend her house and would want to stay here again next time we visit the Bay Area.
Ann has a lovely home. She did not exaggerate the views, they were stunning. The house was clean and well equipped not to mention charming!
Our kids loved the backyard and the huge windows but the "castle stairs" were the highlight for them.
Location was great with easy access to 13 and a very cool state park up the road with waterfalls, hiking trails and a playground. La Farine bakery down the hill was a great find too and close enough to pop into and grab breakfast pastries and sourdough!
We hope to stay in Ann's home on our next visit to the Bay Area.
Ann's house is absolutely perfect. We loved our stay there and would definitely come back again. Although she was not in SF at the time, she was always available and very accommodating. I recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place to come back and relax after a long day in the city.
Nice host, comfortable house with good view and many interesting surprises: clever squirrel, quiet deer, beautiful view of SF in the evening.... we had a wonderful stay!
Great place to stay and relax... Ann goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable... Extremely relaxing beds... Definitely want to visit again, if going to SFO
Ann has a beautiful house and was a delightful host. Her house was clean and it was wonderful not having to put up with hotel people and eating out every day as I was able to use her kitchen. Waking up to views of the San Francisco bay with a cup of coffee was a great way to start each day.
Wonderful host, spectacular views of the bay area from her beautiful home, very comfortable beds. Exceeded our expectations.
Ann’s place was perfect for our trip to San Francisco. The pictures don’t do the home justice. It is beautiful and comfortable. The city/bay view is breathtaking from several rooms! Ann was a great host and made us feel at home. She gave us helpful information on public transportation, places to eat and things to do.
