About this listing
A nice, quiet, easily accessible room with a 95% private bathroom with movies, shopping and dining options within walking distance. Also just upgraded to AT&T Gigapower Internet which is the fastest in Austin.
We tried out airbnb when we moved to Austin recently and found it to be an awesome experience. So we wanted to open up our new house to get to know people from other parts of the world. Our house is upgraded with engineered hard wood floors most of downstairs, tile in the kitchen and bathrooms and also lush carpeting in the bedrooms and upstairs. Also feel free to use our kitchen with granite countertops, gas and stainless steel appliances. We also have a pair of energy efficient front load washer and dryer for your needs.
If Austin doesn't keep you busy throughout the day, then you can unwind at home with my PS3, XBox360 with Kinect, high speed wifi, extended cable with 300+ channels (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Encore) and our home theater. You will also get to use a 7" Nexus tablet during your stay preloaded with apps including HBOGo to watch shows in the comfort in the room. You can connect your laptop to our 24" LCD monitor in the nook as your workspace. That's why you definitely won't be bored here staying here.
We have a few rooms available in our house. This room is the one with the queen memory foam bed. It has a 95% private bathroom next to it. This room is located downstairs. We are kids friendly and we also have a chocolate Labrador retriever.
Even though we might be strangers at first but we hope to become friends at the end of your stay. To see airbnb from our perspectives, you can check out our blog about our airbnb adventure in the social network f-b and search for "Cheah Welcome" or (f-b)/cheah.welcome

Our house is in a brand new middle class subdivision and located just 5-10 mins walk to Southpark Meadows shopping center where you can find Target, Sams Club, Walmart, Best Buy, numerous dining options as well as a Cinemark cinema. It's also 10 minutes to South Congress, 15 minutes to the airport and 10-15 minutes to Austin Downtown. The infamous Austin traffic jam is not a big problem due to many access roads to and from downtown and this might add 5-10 more minutes to your journey depending on rush hour on weekdays. Weekends are a breeze.
For those without cars, Rapid bus 801 with wifi and leaves every 15 minutes will get you to downtown within 30 mins for $1.50 one way. Bus 10 also gets you to the Greyhound bus station within 1 hour for $1.00. To get to the airport, you will take either bus 801/10 to downtown and then bus 100 to the airport (total cost ~$3).

We also people to please respect one another as well as clean up after yourselves when using the bathrooms, entertainment room, and kitchen so that everyone has a clean bathroom, entertainment room, and kitchen to use and we want you to feel at home!
Ernest was a wonderful host and his wife were very welcoming. I got a temporary issue when renting a car and Ernest offered me rides and that was lifesaver.
Great deal!! Ernest and Lila are great people with a lovely home. I thought the space was cozy, spacious and a great place to relax.
The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, and safe and so was their home. I felt comfortable and welcome and very glad to have such a great place to stay.
We stayed with Ernest and Lila when we first got to Austin and were looking for a place to live. We chose to stay with them because they were so warm and welcoming when I messaged them initially. The same was true when we met in person--a lovely couple with an adorable infant. Ernest even picked us up at the airport.
We were still slightly jet lagged from coming back from an extended stay in Southeast Asia, and our room was quiet and comfortable--perfect for getting acclimated to our new city. The amenities were great, too. After being "homeless" and living in hotels and guest houses, it was refreshing to be able to make breakfast, do laundry, and relax in the evening with movies or TV. There are plenty of shops and chain restaurants right nearby, but the Rapid Bus is also very conveniently located to get you right into downtown. Overall, a very good stay with a lovely family.
Ernest, Lila and their adorable son were excellent, friendly and accomodating hosts. Unfortunately, we had a quick stay with them, but would definitely return in the future!
We had a great stay with Ernest and Lila. What a cute baby! Our bed was comfortable, our private bath next to the bedroom was clean and the cul-du-sac was very quite. They are great hosts and we enjoyed the conversation. Looking forward to coming back in the near future. A+++
Great location and a lovely home. Ernest and Lila are very warm and caring people and have a very adorable baby. Highly recommended.

About the Host, Ernest & Lila
We were new to Austin 2 years ago and tried Airbnb for the first time when we moved here then. It has been a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and we decided to host fellow travellers and those who are making Austin their new home. We love to travel and we've been to many countries. We can also be considered foodies because we really enjoy trying new and different types of cuisine. Ernest loves sports and is a tech geek whereas Lila is more of a homebody and loves to bake and cook. We have also recently became proud parents of a beautiful boy.
We had stopped being Airbnb hosts after having our baby but the draw of meeting guests from all over the world was too hard to resist. We have hosted guests from England, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Poland, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, New Zealand, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Syria, Palestine, Tanzania, Russia, Australia, Ireland, Nepal, Peru, Israel, Dominican Republic and of course the many states of the USA. There's also young, old, married, kids, moving to Austin, Christians, Muslims, Mormons, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, grandparents, moms, dads, toddlers, LGBT and many more. What a wonderful world we live in! If you are not in this list, then there's always a first and we embrace diversity. Hopefully you will enjoy our company as we embark on this adventure together. Thank you also for helping us achieve the SuperHost status.
