About this listing
We have a spare room with double bed in our beautiful country cottage with fantastic views across the Surrey countryside. Only 10 miles from Gatwick airport and a 10 minute walk to the local station with direct links into London ( 50 minutes away). An ideal base or start to travelling arond the South/South East. Breakfast can be provided if needed and collection from airport arranged.
Guests are expected to use the house as a base for exploring. Breakfast can be provided but guests will be expected to self cater or eat out for lunch and dinner. Short term stays only.
Karen and her husband were very friendly and welcoming. Karen kindly drove us to Gatwick and picked us up after our week away as well as dropping us at the train station the next day to continue our journey home. Their home was a relaxing place to arrive at after a tiring journey. Although very close to Gatwick it was calm and quiet.
Karen was great in helping us organise everything, and gave us a lift from Gatwick airport with was very kind of her. The room was nice, and this was exactly what we needed between landing at Gatwick and getting the train in the morning.
Another pleasant and comfortable stay, many heartfelt thanks to you both once again.
Karen and her husband are very nice people and really considerate hosts. They were keen to help however they could but also gave me the space I needed to prepare ahead of a job interview. The house is very pretty and not hard to find and the bedroom very comfortable. If I need to stay in the area again they will be my first choice for accommodation!
Our visit to Karen and Malcolm was a perfect start to our holiday. A hop and a skip from Gatwick, we were made very welcome by our hosts and very friendly spaniel, Basil (he nearly came with us!). Great hosts and a lovely old cottage.
Karen and her dog were lovely hosts and very accommodating. Although we did not spend a great deal of time at the house and did not get to know Karen very much, we felt comfortable being there. The house was very tidy and the bed was comfortable for two people to sleep in. We were also able to park our campervan outside without a problem for the entire stay. We arrived early Thursday morning and quickly headed out to London for the day (the train station is not a far walk from her home). We left Friday morning to catch a flight from Gatwick. We chose to stay here because of the distance from Gatwick, as well as the easy access to the train station to and from London (our last day in England); I would recommend staying here if this is also something you are considering doing before heading to Gatwick for a flight.
