We have a spare room with double bed in our beautiful country cottage with fantastic views across the Surrey countryside. Only 10 miles from Gatwick airport and a 10 minute walk to the local station with direct links into London ( 50 minutes away). An ideal base or start to travelling arond the South/South East. Breakfast can be provided if needed and collection from airport arranged.
Guests are expected to use the house as a base for exploring. Breakfast can be provided but guests will be expected to self cater or eat out for lunch and dinner. Short term stays only.
Our visit to Karen and Malcolm was a perfect start to our holiday. A hop and a skip from Gatwick, we were made very welcome by our hosts and very friendly spaniel, Basil (he nearly came with us!). Great hosts and a lovely old cottage.
Karen and her dog were lovely hosts and very accommodating. Although we did not spend a great deal of time at the house and did not get to know Karen very much, we felt comfortable being there. The house was very tidy and the bed was comfortable for two people to sleep in. We were also able to park our campervan outside without a problem for the entire stay. We arrived early Thursday morning and quickly headed out to London for the day (the train station is not a far walk from her home). We left Friday morning to catch a flight from Gatwick. We chose to stay here because of the distance from Gatwick, as well as the easy access to the train station to and from London (our last day in England); I would recommend staying here if this is also something you are considering doing before heading to Gatwick for a flight.
Karen is a very lovely and caring person. I stayed at here place before my flight back home from Gatwick Airport. I arrived there late in the evening, what was no problem for her. When I arrived at the train station she picked me up and in the morning she gave me a lift to the airport. I would defintitely recommend Karens home. Really nice, confortable and clean.
I had a wonderful stay with Karen, Malcolm, and Basel. They are incredibly hospitable and welcomed me into their lovely home and made me feel totally comfortable. The gardens are relaxing and the neighborhood peaceful. Karen graciously schlepped me into town to try and fix my phone, drove me over to spend the day at the castle, and drove me into the airport late at nite-above and beyond. We connected right away and talked about loads of things. I really enjoyed my stay and made new friends. I recommend the stay without hesitation!
Karen warmly welcomed us to her beautiful home and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was very comfortable with a wonderful view of the garden. After settling us in, she offered great advice on local pubs/places to eat and where to visit in the surrounding area. It provided an excellent base for touring the South Downs and the coast.
Very pleasant and welcoming hosts. Lovely spot. Comfortable room and bed (perhaps a little cramped). I slept well. Everything very clean.
