Many of our guests see the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary on a bay cruise or lesson with our family sailing club, Monterey Bay Sailing. Monterey has some of the best sailing conditions on the West coast. Monterey Bay Sailing sails every day. You can make a reservation any time between 11:00 AM and 6:30 PM. Our cruises leave from Old Fisherman's Wharf through the Monterey harbor. The sails go up as soon as you get past the breakwater. We sail along historic Cannery Row, past the kelp reefs with Sea Otters, California Sea Lions, and different species of marine birds. Your voyage continues towards Pacific Grove, Lovers Point, Point Pinos and tacks back to the harbor with the Pacific swell at our stern.

Reservations can be made by phone at (831) 372-SAIL (7245) or (email hidden)
We look forward to hosting you and sailing with you on the majestic Monterey Bay.

  • Our stay was very pleasant. The house was well furnished and comfortable. The street noise was a bit loud and the shower drain baked up a bit on our second day, but we didn't let either of those items spoil the enjoyment of our stay.

  • I stayed here with my wife while I was participating in a local race at Toro Park. It was a great time and was located very close to Toro and Laguna Seca. There are some tasty places to eat in seaside as well. The place is great for dogs, we brought our two labs and they were totally comfortable. It also has a nice gated outdoor area for lounging in the sun. We would definitely go back.

  • Carolyn & Dutch were accommodating and responsive. The room was as described and we had no problems checking in even though we arrived at 10pm.

  • The house was spacious and clean with a well really well stocked kitchen (better than any of the other Airbnb places I have stayed!), although as others have mentioned there was a bit of a funny dog smell. There is a big outdoor area and it is very pet friendly, with water bowls, doggy door etc. Since our dogs were traveling with us, we really appreciated this. While the neighborhood itself wasn't great, it is very conveniently located (short drive to Monterey and Carmel). We didn't get a chance to meet Carolyn & Dutch but they were very responsive by email - we had no problems. Overall I think it is probably a bit expensive for what it is, but since we were traveling with pets we had limited options. Thanks for letting us stay!

  • Great stay for 4 people at a great price. Minutes away from Monterey and Carmel. No TV is nice as are the toiletries and breakfast food/coffee that's available. Very pleasant experience.

  • Stayed here last weekend for a wedding we attended in Carmel. Rooms were nice and bathroom was clean. The only drawbacks were the street noise at night and this guy making repairs in the back yard. I though we had the property for the weekend, but when we came back from the wedding ceremony around 9:30 pm, there was this strange man making repairs to the home. We had to leave 20 minutes later and the repair guy made a fuss about locking the back door. He wanted it left open so he could test some outdoor light he was installing. Told him we needed to lock it. We didn't know who he was, was not told someone would be making repairs and simply just didn't trust this stranger. I called Carolyn & Dutch to explain what was going on and they said to just lock the door. I explained to the stranger that i spoke with the owners and needed to lock the door, he still put up a fuss about locking it. He said he could easily acquire the key and knew the owners. Told him to call the owners and tell them we wanted our money back if the door was to remain unlocked. In the end the door was locked. The house overall is great, but would not stay here again.

  • Had a wonderful albeit quick stay at Dutch and Carolyn's house. The place was very nice and comfortable. Would stay again.

  • The house was clean and looked as advertised. Could've used some toilet paper and didn't know the dog smell would be so strong. After lighting some candles the smell got better. Agreed to a late checkout with the host, but didn't receive notification that they would be coming by for payment, which left us unprepared and startled by the knock on the door after 8pm. We were happy to pay the $75 extra, just wish we knew Dutch was stopping by unannounced.

  • My family and I enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and as pictured. The street noise from passing cars in the front of the house was a little louder than I expected, but wasn't a problem at bed time. The kitchen came stocked with tea and honey, which was a nice touch. My young daughter liked watching the birds out the window. Communication and check-in were prompt and efficient. The location is perfect for staying overnight and exploring Monterey the next day.

  • We had a lovely overnight stay at Dutch & Carolyn's. Their place provided the perfect stay over for two couples enjoying a weekend in Monterey. Their home is spacious and homey, perfectly clean and comfortable. We felt warm and welcome!
