Pet Friendly cabin. Close to the slopes and away from the crowds. Easy access to the lake and village. Great deck for leisurely breakfast or afternoon barbecue.
A beautiful fully furnished cabin walking distance from Bear Mountain Ski resort, and short drive from Big Bear Lake makes this a great year round respite from the daily grind. In the winter months you can snowboard or ski at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit all day and come home to the warm cabin to relax. No need to drive down the hill. Or get out of the heat on a summer weekend to enjoy all the lake and mountain has to offer. The Cabin is fully furnished with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, full kitchen, beautiful patio/deck and a fully fenced yard for your furry friends.
Our fully furnished kitchen has a stove, oven, microwave, crock pot ( great for a long day of ski or boating) , barbeque, full sized fridge. There is a drip coffee maker and an espresso maker and we provide coffee along with it. There is oatmeal and other snacks for you to enjoy.
We have a television w/ basic cable, a dvd player and wireless internet so you can watch anything you like on your own device. There is phone you can use if your cel does not get service so high in the mountains.
Chasing Dreams cabin has a very peaceful feel. It is close to anything that Big Bear has to offer yet the only thing you really hear at the cabin is the wind in the trees or the rain on the roof. Plan on having the best time, whether you want to be active or lazy, Chasing Dreams offers both.
All Trash and food must be removed when you check out and taken to the local trash site. The Trash site is located on Moonridge Road just past Big Bear Blvd. The site is on the right. You just take your trash and recyclables and you can dump them there.
No Street parking- max two cars
The cabin is as described and pictured! Although it seems bigger in real life, which is a good thing of course. It's such an easy walk to the slopes. We loved our stay here.
Kate was very helpful with any questions we had, and responded so quickly!
We would definitely stay here again next time we come to bear :)
Thanks for a great place to spend the weekend! Cabin was very nice with everything you could need.
Everything was as advertised. The cabin was just under a half mile walk to big bear mountain resort. The cabin was cozy and worked well for our group.
Loved the place. Clean and cozy and close to all the lifts, the Village and the Lake. Easy parking and spacious rooms makes for an ideal spot for a big group.
However, we had problems getting into the cabin upon arriving. Kate forgot to inform me that the keys were inside the lock box instead of under the mat. That was the first thing, but it wasn't a big deal.
We called her and followed her instructions for the lock combination. We double checked and triple checked making sure we turned the dial the correct way, according to her instructions.
I call her again and she says she is sending the manager, all the while repeating her instructions. When the manager arrives, she also does not know how to open the lock but opens the door with her own key. A man in her car, who fails to introduce himself, comes up to us, opens the lock and hands us the key. Smugly, the manager hands us the keys and says he opened it.
I ask him to show me how exactly he turned the dial and compared it to the directions Kate gave over the phone. Lo and behold, they were not the correct directions though the combination was correct.
We were stuck for two hours outside in our car, unable to get inside. It was cold, guys.
We still had a great time on our trip but I am still disappointed that Kate and airbnb have done nothing to rectify or address this problem.
I am not sure what the manager did that was different than my directions, but we are replacing the lock box since clearly something changed with it. I have used it for 3 years with no incidents. I apologize for the delay in getting someone to the cabin, but on busy weekends traffic on the only road in the valley is really slow.
We had a great time at the cabin. Our pup loved it too, the outside space was enclosed so she could run around freely. It was walking distance to the slopes and not too far from the town. All in all a really nice place to stay.
The cabin was comfortable and had great cables and wifi installed. Kate has been extremely helpful and friendly!
I am a crazy animal lover and bought the cabin 10 years ago so I could vacation with my pups. Now I want to share this great place with others.
