Many of our guests see the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary on a bay cruise or lesson with our family sailing club, Monterey Bay Sailing. Monterey has some of the best sailing conditions on the West coast. Monterey Bay Sailing sails every day. You can make a reservation any time between 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM. Our cruises leave from Old Fisherman's Wharf through the Monterey harbor. The sails go up as soon as you get past the breakwater. We sail along historic Cannery Row, past the kelp reefs with Sea Otters, California Sea Lions, and different species of marine birds. Your voyage continues towards Pacific Grove, Lovers Point, Point Pinos and tacks back to the harbor with the Pacific swell at our stern.
Reservations can be made by phone at (831) 372-SAIL (7245) or (email hidden).
We look forward to hosting you and sailing with you on the majestic Monterey Bay.

It is really an amazing house which is located nearby Target, Costco and other groceries. It is clean and orderly. Its decorations are so impressive. We had a wonderful time there!
My friends and I used the Seaside Cottage for a spontaneous girls' trip down to Monterey County. Dutch and Carolyn were gracious hosts.
Carolyn and Dutch communicated very well and offered us to go sailing with the Monterey Sailing Club . I get seasick so could not take advantage of the offer but it was very nice to get the offer. The distance to walk to the beach is about a mile and a half so it will take a half an hour or thereabouts to get to the ocean. We wanted to see what the neighborhood in Seaside was like so this was perfect for us, but if you want to spend time in Monterey this may not be the best location. The cottage was nice, but had no TV
Really cute house, responsive host, comfortable beds. Would recommend to anyone!
Clean and cozy house. Hosts are very responsive and accommodating. Recommend!
Our accommodations were just as described. A comfortable and attractive private home in a safe neighborhood. Only drawback for us was that we arrived late and had to leave early the next day. We would have liked to have spent more time in Monterey.

I am a community college instructor at Monterey Peninsula College and special programs director at the Monterey Institute of International Studies . My husband, Dutch, runs a public sailing club, Monterey Bay Sailing, on Old Fisherman's Wharf and many of our guests choose to go out for a bay cruise or dinner cruise while in town. We have a mixed lab/shepard dog named Nilla who is very friendly and quiet.
