About this listing
The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance to supermarkets, bus line and has on street parking available.
The small bedroom in our home is simple but includes your own large bathroom with tub and shower. The bedroom is south facing so, is bright most of the day. The futon is firm but topped with a gel/memory foam pad. Our street has somewhat heavy traffic, so when nights are warm and the window will be open, it can be audible to light sleepers.
Guests are welcome to share the kitchen and dining room . We are easygoing, and love to meet new people.
Interaction with Guests
We are all coming and going regularly but always hope to find an opportunity to visit with our guests!
Guests are kindly asked to smoke outside of the house and to eat only in the kitchen/diningroom. Beyond that we only ask that guests reciprocate in respectful language, noise level and cleanliness. Above all, have fun!
For Sunday reservations, check-in may not be available until 8:00 p.m.
It was a comfortable little room that served me well while I was working nearby for a couple weeks. Carolyn was nice and accommodating of my schedule. The bed was quite comfortable and while there is a fair amount of street noise, it's not really noticeable with the window closed. A short walk to the Safeway and approximately 1 mile to some restaurants and coffee shops in Milwaukie center.
Carolyn's house was a great place for me to stay while visiting my boys in Oregon City.
It was very quiet and I slept great!
Carolyn gave me the run down on everything I needed to know about staying in her home in a pleasant manner.
The room and house was very clean as promised. Carolyn was very good about communicating prior to my arrival to ensure I was able to get in the house. I would suggest this room for shorter stays of a couple days at a time because although Carolyn and her boyfriend were very friendly, there is limited privacy. Carolyn takes her house rules seriously and even though I'm an extremely tidy person, I felt I was walking on eggshells to do daily living things (ie recycling, parking my car, putting food in the fridge etc.) the correct way.
Carolyn was a wonderful host. The house and room were very clean and welcoming as well as being close to many coffee shops, grocery stores etc. Carolyn was always available to communicate and had excellent recommendations for local coffee and food. An awesome place to spend a week. Highly recommended!
Carolyn was a lovely host! She was very prompt with letting me know when I could check in, and when I called to inform her when I was arriving, she responded right away. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean and I slept great on the bed. I would highly recommend to any solo female travelers--I felt very comfortable.
Carolyn was there to meet me when I arrived. She showed me around the house, helped me with directions and even had a bus schedule in the desk drawer. Radical hospitality! yes, the space was exactly as described.
Carolyn was great. She was very good with communication (mostly texts). She made sure that I could get into the house when I arrived before she got home for the day. Her house is very nice, clean and quiet. Easy street parking. Room is normal sized and comes with a desk and a very comfortable bed! The bathroom is right across the hall and seems to only be used by you (basically your own private bath).
After the weather turned bad (hail and freezin rain) Carolyn was worried about my drive back to the airport and made sure I felt welcome to stay another night in case I couldn't get to the airport or make my flight.
Basically a great place to stay!
About the Host, Carolyn
I am a fun loving woman who enjoys meeting and getting to know new people. I work a split-shift for the local school district so am in and out of the house throughout the day.
I don't have pets so that I can pick up and go whenever the mood strikes. I like simple, clean food and good music, especially good dance music.
Non-smoking, I do enjoy a glass of wine from time to time. I like to read and watch a little TV, workout on my Nordic Trak skier and spend time with my boyfriend Ray who you may encounter. I also enjoy origami, knitting and crocheting and stained glass art.
My daughter is here some of the time and we have a roommate downstairs. We're in and out all the time but mostly pretty low key and fairly quiet.
