Hello, We are Mali and Hector, a couple of Cuban professionals who enjoy living in Havana, despite its deteriorated buildings and undeniable imperfections. This may be the reason why we think this is a magical city, filled with a spirit we invite you to discover. I am a psychologist, and this profession has helped me corroborate that this world we live in is crazy. Hector is a computer scientist, unlike me, with his feet on the ground. A while ago we decided to open a space at home for those travelers who would rather stay with a family. The original idea was that this endeavor would help us oxygenate our home economy, meanwhile we would teach our kids Jorge Mauro and Marcel that hospitality is a valuable habit to making many friends. We had some experience in this field, because for more than twenty years, my parents’ house has been receiving guests from countries around the world. Besides, we had some prior experience working in the tourist field. Our experience grew increasingly and we became the managers of other settings and lodgings. Today we are part of a community called Renta en Cuba, based on the principle of mutual cooperation. If we were asked about the key elements to thrive in this particular business, our answer would be simple: be yourself, a Cuban of current times. In addition, speaking English and being multiculturally aware has been crucial. We also love reading, listening to good music and experiencing different cuisines. These activities have paved the way for communication and exchange with people worldwide who share similar interests. After all, we are not so different, right?
