This is a room for 1 to 4 persons in 2 beds.
Comfortable guest room in spacious Georgian house located in the Vauxhall area of London. Gay welcome!
The house is close to restaurants, gay bars, clubs, bus and underground station and Thames river taxi. Easy access for London airports.
200 metres from Oval Cricket ground and 10 minutes walk from the London Eye, 15 minutes from Buckingham palace and Westminster Abbey.
This property is not suitable for children.
20% discount for serving and ex forces on arrival!
We realy liked the room in Peters house. Peter and his co-host are realy friendly and welcoming. The room is cozy and clean, and the service is good. If you look for a fair priced appartement in London this is your choise!
The only negative point is the bathroom, that one is not that spacious, and looks somewhat as some little project... But hey the shower works, is clean and hot so fine by me!
Very bad experience, we were stuck in a small room with almost no place to move (there were 4 of us). Ugly bathroom with durty stuff everywere. High traffic in front of the house. No breakfast before 9 am and when we entered the room nothing was prepared so we left...NOT TO RECOMMEND AT ALL !!!
Dirty bathroom? You were the ones using it!!! Is that why you smashed and destroyed furniture, moved things into the hallway at night so that people would fall over them etc?? You are mentally deranged! Because you are told not to move large vases from the room without asking, you decide that you decide to behave like 16 year old thug. It is a poor example you set as a father and one which will come back to haunt you!
Set in a safe working class neighborhood, Peter and his host, Esad were very gracious and easy to live with.
Easy 5-7 minute walk to the tube/underground station, but don't overlook the even closer bus terminal for sometimes quicker bus terminal with buses going all over. And a bike rental at the Vauxhall station!
Big plus was the amount of solid food possibilities close (The Rose Pub, Alejandro's, Hot Stuff (Indian) and more). For an amazing view of the Thames, walk 10 minutes down to the (email hidden) George Wharf.
Comfortable room, Esad was readily available if we had questions or to prepare breakfast before heading out the door.
I'd return and recommend you consider Peter's if you want a comfortable, affordable room close to all London has to offer!
Peter was very accommodating which our short notice for booking. He was very quick to reply to our inquiries and concerns. The location is perfect and so close to a a multitute of public transportation options. Being so close to London Central and near so many poonts of interest made the accommodations great value for money. Keep in mind you are renting a ROOM in a old but well maintained home. The bedroom was simple, clean and comfortable and the bathroom although small, was immaculately clean. Peter was a great host and he was very helpful with information regarding to our visit to London. We had no issues with any part of our stay and would not hesitate to stay again or recommend it to friends. Thanks Peter

There are two bathrooms in the house as you were made aware. If guests like you, choose to leave the bathrooms in a filthy manner, you cannot blame the host. I clearly advise that the bathroom is cleaned once a day, to leave it clean and provide cleaning materials. It is not a hotel and I am not catering for hotel guests. You were offered eggs, toast, yoghurt, cereals, cold meats for breakfast - if that is a modest breakfast, then I am surprised.
Lying blatantly about why you wanted to terminate your stay is a sad reflection of you as individuals. When asked if there was a problem, you claimed one of your party had to unexpectedly return to Brazil for business. The other two were taking the opportunity to travel to other cities. You lost me money and you werent charged because you could not find honesty in your hearts. Not an airbnb thing. Directions to the house are the same sa everyone else has had...and guess what, thaey found it easily!!! A 200 year old Georgian period property - dont you understand that means old??
Good clean room with great transport links (2 minute walk to Vauxhall tube / rail / bus depot). 20 minutes to Westminster and Victoria bus / rail links. Great choice for overnight stay in area.
I had a great time at Peter's house who is an excellent host. The room was clean, the house well located, just perfect!
I have read all previous reviews about Peter being very friendly and courteous but no one actually described many important points about the property. So here in my review I would like to focus on Property more which will help many others to set right expectations while going there as unfortunately our expectations dropped down the moment we entered our room as the pictures shown on website was completely different from the actual site. We spoke to Peter about it and he told that AirBnB did not like the pictures sent by Peter so they themselves clicked few and uploaded so he is not sure about what’s there on website. The bed in the room was highly uncomfortable as it was broken and had moving wheels so the moment you sit on bed it while resting from the back it moves from its position as back was not attached to bed. The bathroom in the pictures has been shown with bath tub and spacious, but the actual bathroom was like hardly one can stand properly for shower because if you move while taking bath the walls touch you and there was no bathtub at all. There was no privacy as none of the doors were having lock or if we cannot bolt from inside while sleeping or resting. On top of everything there were no inside lock in BATHROOM which was really inconvenient to use it on sharing basis. The room has very old furniture and carpet was quite old. There were some cardboard cartons lying in one corner of the room. There was no wardrobe and mirror but Peter was kind enough to arrange a small mirror. And lastly you are not allowed to use kitchen area at your own unlike other AirBnB hosts but Peter was flexible for my wife to bring her breakfast in the room as she had a surgery so could not do stairs. The Bed linens and towels were clean.
As far as peter was concerned he was helpful in giving directions on where we can roam and how we can go there. He was friendly to talk. The property was near to tube station and bus stops. We were not able to meet Peter while checking out else could have given some suggestions on improvement so that more couples like us should not get dishearten while they are on vacation. Property needs a lot of renovation and hopefully Peter will take it positively and will do the needful.
!. Airbnb Photographers took and verified the pictures. I took time to rearrange the room so that it would be more comfortable for his invalided wife -glad that was appreciated.
2.The bed is a new(Dec2012) Divan. They come with mattress and a base on wheels. It has been slept in twice since then. Headboards are often not attached to divan beds.
3. The UPSTAIRS bathroom, is exactly as shown in the pictures, however, as your invalided wife could not manage the stairs, you used the shower room which was more convenient
4. The antique furnitures and persian carpets are SUPPOSED to be old, thats why they cost so much money.
5. In my home, I will keep my things where I choose; I am unaware that they neded to jump over a table and lamp to get into the corne where my boxes lay.(btw, if you saw thiose did you also notice the room heater there for the convenience of guests?)
I6. I thought it was the first Airbnb experience, nonetheless, you kept your wifes drugs and icepacks in my fridge and freezer getting them whenever you wished. I do not allow guests to use the cooker to cook meals. You were welcome, as all others, to use the microwave if you felt it was a problem. Having given you recommendations as requested, to many Vegetarian restaurants, I fail to understand when it was exctly that you wished to prepare a meal!
8. The property was renovated 18 months ago. I am sorry that you do not feel it meets the very high standards you are obviously accustomed to.
If you felt so strongly that this was not the location for you, you were welcome to check out early and I am sure you could have found alternate accommodation at one of the many 4 and 5 star hotels close by.
