The next bedroom is also a nice size that comes with ample closet space and a huge private bathroom that includes a separate shower and an original clawfoot tub. The remaining two bedrooms share a bathroom that also has an original clawfoot tub. There is a cozy living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a washer & dryer.

In town for a college game (email hidden) performance at the Fox Theatre, the Tabernacle or the 14th street Playhouse? Rest assured that you will be close to your destination and will have the option of using the public transit system, MARTA. When you return to this 1920's row house, you can spend your evening sitting on the cozy front porch, people watching in a neighborhood where the locals are sure to stop and speak. More interested in privacy? Sit on a bench on the back deck and enjoy the sounds of the birds with a backdrop of city sounds. Up for a quick walk? Take a stroll through the neighborhood and you will find houses dating back to the 19th century including Shotgun houses and Victorian houses. You will definitely work up an appetite after such a stroll. Not interested in visiting one of the restaurants located across the street? There are several restaurants that deliver directly to the front door, even at a late hour.
Are you a festival goer? Do you enjoy major league and college sports? Let your friendly Atlanta native host and hostess know when you make your room reservation, and we will be sure to tell you about the city's exciting events!

This is an old mill town; therefore, the streets are narrow and parking is tight. Skillful drivers will be able to park 3 mid-sized cars behind the house. There is additional on-street parking, but it is first-come first-served and not necessarily right by the house.

Guests will be expected to do a general cleaning behind themselves since we do not charge a cleaning fee. You can find a list of things under the House Rules Tab.
However, if you'd rather not be responsible for any cleaning, you can pay a small cleaning fee.

Verified guests who are at least 30 years of age and have a valid driver's license and full coverage insurance can rent the 2012 Nissan Armada for an additional $70 per night. Please inquire at the time of booking to insure availability.

  • This is a beautiful home in a really great neighborhood. We had 2 families come together for a trip to Atlanta and everyone had a lot of space and comfort. Melissa was very accommodating and allowed us to come in a little early so I could surprise my brother and set up for his birthday. Anything we needed was literally a phone call away and Melissa was always helpful. The neighborhood was fun, especially having a great restaurant and grocery store within walking distance, as well as a new park for the kids to play. We had a great time exploring Atlanta and had a great home to come back to and relax. Thanks Melissa.

  • Renting from Melissa was FANTASTIC!!!! Our dear friends flew in from all corners of the country (Boston, California, Michigan, you name it) for a reunion in Atlanta. All we wanted was a comfortable, spacious home in a convenient location where we could make the most of our short time together. This place EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS!! Melissa is such a joy to work with -- easy check-in/check-out. Clear communication. SOO accommodating. Look no further, ladies and gentlemen!!

  • This was our first airbnb experience and it was wonderful! The house was gorgeous and the neighborhood was perfect. We were able to walk to dinner both nights we were in town...Village Pizza was our favorite! Melissa was super helpful and accommodating, answering all of my questions in a timely manner. if we ever need to rent in Atlanta again, Melissa and Carroll St. will definitely be our first choice.

  • Melissa was very nice and helpful. Her house was beautiful and the accomodations were very comfortable. The location is amazing - located directly across the street from the awesome Carroll Street Cafe. I could not have picked a better location to meet up with a large group of friends from around the country. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing time with a group of friends!

  • We enjoyed our stay in Melissa's house and it was perfect for our group of 5 (since we used the sofa bed in the in law suite, each person had his own room). We ate at Carroll Cafe across the street almost every day since it was so delicious and convenient! Unfortunately the heat went out during our stay (it was very cold), and it took over a day to get everything working again. It's an old house, so be aware of that possibility if you're staying in the winter! Melissa was attentive and helpful and brought us space heaters.

  • Melissa is a FABULOUS host! I live in metro Atlanta and hosted out of town guests for a bachelorette weekend. This was the perfect location. My friends were highly impressed with this home as was I. Melissa was always available for any questions and was very welcoming. Did I mention that the beds must have been sent from heaven? I would recommend Melissa to everyone. It's the best way to experience staying in downtown Atlanta.

  • It's difficult to describe just how AWESOME the entire experience was with Melissa and her beautiful home. We celebrated with 9 women for my sister's bridal shower and bachelorette weekend (March, 2014) and we couldn't have imagined a more perfect location and accommodations. Not only was the home spacious, charming, and beautiful, but the price and responsiveness of the owner is simply unbeatable. Melissa helped us out with everything from local services to airport rides, and never once complained about all of the questions I had. You will NOT be disappointed with your stay here, and will discover an adorable part of Atlanta that is accessible to anything and everything you need inside the perimeter. Thank you for a TERRIFIC stay!

  • We visited Atlanta for a trade show for the second year in a row. We booked Melissa's house last year and fell in love with the house and neighborhood. It is so much nicer being in a house with 6 people compared to being in separate hotel rooms. Great restaurants and bars on the same block and a "Little" store. We Love It and hope to return every time we attend the trade show.
The house has lots of character and all the conveniences of home.

  • Melissa's house is beautifully appointed, conveniently modern, and perfectly located. The funky epicenter of Cabbagetown surrounds the house. The historical photos and notebooks that Melissa has throughout the house provide very interesting context to the location and its history. As an Atlanta native I found this particularly interesting. If you stay here, don't miss out on Oakland Cemetery just across the street - one of the most beautiful examples of Victorian memorial parks I've ever seen.

Melissa was very easy to communicate with, checked in with me twice during our extended stay, and made the entire experience easy. I can recommend her without qualification - thanks!

I'm a high school History teacher at the only high school in Smyrna, Georgia, which also happens to be the school that my teenage son attends. In addition to being a teacher and a mom, I'm also a wife. So obviously, I'm always busy. I absolutely love going to festivals! I also love anything that has to do with history! My husband and I have a goal to start an organization that will focus on assisting inner city youth. Too often, this demographic is falsely incarcerated, and they do not have access to proper legal assistance. Our desire is to start a coalition of professionals who will dedicate pro bono their services to this underrepresented population.
