THE HOUSE OF SWEET DREAMS
Hi, and welcome! I'm Andrew, Glad you found my listing! Here is a list of all the useful info about my house:
**Pricing Fluctuates During Seasons/Holidays $35 is base price**
***This house is in typical New Orleans style; a "shotgun house" where some rooms share a door, so you will have us walking through the room at some point during your stay.***
"Le Peach Parlor" is decorated as an environment for you to feel welcome and at home. On your bed will be your own home made book of things to do, places to eat, amazing things to see, and everything you never knew existed here.
In the bedroom, you can control your own heating / cooling.
This listing is for a full sized loft bed with staircase, in the "living room".
You have privacy curtains in the loft for sleeping late and being more comfortable. There is plenty of storage space in the loft for your belongings.
I am totally flexible and available to accommodate any check-in or check-out times. However, for regularity sake I suggest:
Check in after 3pm
Check out before 11am
Also note that you're welcome to check in anytime after 3pm but Amanda sometimes works late and we can't guarantee the room will be clean until 6:30pm, but please come and make yourself at home :) take out the bikes, or lounge around, (if you're going to take a nap and/or you've checked in before the room has been cleaned, please message Andrew to indicate when we can clean) thanks again and see you soon!
All Air Bnb guests use their side entrance to the house.
-Air Bnb guest's side entrance
-Full sized Loft bed
-Fully equipped (shared) kitchen + bathroom
-Free Bike Use
-10 minute bike ride/30min walk to French Quarter!!
Interaction with Guests
There are three rooms in the house, The two Air Bnb Rooms and My friend Amanda's room who lives in the front of the house and uses the front door (you use the side door to the right of the house.)
Amanda is simply a tenant whom you share the house with, if you need anything I am usually around or just a phone call away and am always available to provide as much guidance, or as much privacy as you desire. Think of me like your 24 hour concierge! I love to get to know people and give you a New Orleans experience that is relevant to what you want to see and do here, even things that you had no idea even existed...
The house is in the Historic "Esplanade Ridge" Close to the "French Quarter/Bourbon St." Downtown and the Historic Marigny Neighborhood/Frenchman Street
A quiet and safe neighborhood where we know all of our neighbors and everyone looks out for one another, with families and young entrepreneurs dotting the area with eclectic bars, eateries and shops. The house is just a few blocks away from the fairgrounds, coffee shops, several good restaurant, and a small grocery store. A couple more blocks and you (email hidden) John, The New Orleans Museum of Art and City Park! The Superdome is a 10 minute bike ride away and only 1 mile to the French Quarter down beautoful Esplanade Ave.
Commonly sought after attractions within 2 miles of the house are: Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, Superdome, French Quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, City Park, DBA, Cafe du Monde, French Market, Spotted Cat, Cafe Negril, Blue Nile, The Maison, Apple Barrel, Coop's Place, Mardi Gras Zone, Mimi's in the Marigny, All Ways Lounge, and the Bywater, Marigny, 7th Ward, and Treme neighborhoods.
I recommend using our Free bikes to get around the area, New orleans is a small enough city geographically you can get virtually anywhere by a short bike ride! there is also a Public bus up and down Esplanade ave (91 bus) that takes you down and along the north end of the "French Quarter"
*a note on the bikes:
The bikes are FREE so they are not the fanciest of rides. Mainly geared toward the travelers who are down for an adventure, and aren't expecting a Lexus, they're more like an old Toyota (strong guts, but moody) But we love them, they have their quirks, and they get a lot of use. Please, if you are not used to working with a used "get around town bike" than consider renting a bike from one of the many lovely rentals around town. (Gerkins, Bicycle Michaels, or Crescent City Bike Tours)
Other Things to Note
No pets please, Allergy concerns. thanks :)
I am totally flexible and available to accommodate any check-in or check-out times however, for regularity sake I suggest:
Check in after 3pm
Check out before 11am
(sometimes if there is an overlap, ie. early airport arrival, we can hold your bags until a previous guest checks out)
Please leave your keys on bed when you check out
I provide FREE bikes to all of our guests to borrow.
If you do borrow a bike, I provide you with a lock for your bike.
Please return the locks with the bikes.
and THANK YOU for staying with
The House of Sweet Dreams!
Andrew was kind and flexible. He kept my suitcase after the check-out.
His guide book is very helpful. I had wonderful days in New Orleans because of it.
Le Parlour Peach was perfect for our JazzFest experience. The place was ready for us when we came, and Andrew was helpful in getting us set up with bikes so we could ride around town. Furthermore, in the room, he was kind enough to leave a pamphlet of suggestions for local coffee and food, as well as some entertainment suggestions. Nice touch!
Le Peach Parlor is very neat and tidy. The description was incredibly accurate. Andrew is not very present in the whole ordeal but as long as you can follow directions, you will not have any problems. Things are clearly labeled in this house. We slept very well and were able to cook meals in the kitchen. The best part is the bikes.
Andrew's place was cool. The taxi cab driver dropped us off around 8:00pm and and suggested is not to walk around the neighborhood at night, but the neighbor across the street was really nice and let me know where to walk to in order to find the side door that lead to where I was staying. My girlfriend and I were only there to sleep, but the bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, and the water was warm. I did get a little stuffy in there, but the window unit cooled the room off fairly quickly. I suggest turning on the little black fan located below the window unit to push up the cool air. If you plan on staying here, then you should plan on how you want to do transportation if you or whoever you are with does not like to ride bikes. It is about $8.50 for a taxi to the French Quarter, and $33 to or from the airport. It would most likely be cheaper to rent a car, taxi expenses add up. This was a fun trip and would recommend to my friends.
