Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Had a nice one-night stay in the loft. It's a charming, clean house. Andrew and Amanda are easy to get along with and are both very helpful. It's great to be able to use the bikes to get around town. Unfortunately it was hard to sleep in, as the loft is part of the living space. That aside, would recommend this to someone who was looking for a cheap and easy place to stay in New Orleans.

  • This was my first Air BnB experience, and it was an excellent one. The room was clean and comfortable - and the house overall was so cute, with twinkle lights to greet us as we walked the path to the back door. The neighborhood is a pleasant mix of row houses (some in disrepair, some in excellent condition) and very close to everything one would want to see in New Orleans. Like any place in New Orleans, we were careful to keep the doors of the car locked, but didn't feel unsafe. Still, as three young women, we preferred to take a taxi or drive when we were going to arrive back late.

  • It was wonderful staying at the House of Sweet Dreams! The room was very neat and comfortable, and we loved the gold decorations. The house was conveniently located to several bus stops or a nice walk away from City Park or French Quarter. The booklet they provided with their local suggestions of things to do and eat was super helpful. Our favorite was breakfast at Cake Cafe! We would highly recommend a stay here!

  • Our stay in The Gold Room was awesome! I had never used airbnb before and was a little skeptical about it, but I had such a great experience. Andrew and Amanda were very helpful..they left a very useful itinerary for places to see and they also suggested cab companies that would be best for travel to and from my arrival areas and departure areas. I love, love, loved their free bikes--used them every day, all day!

I would suggest this room/these hosts to anyone looking for a fun, helpful and safe place to stay!

  • What an inspiring space! Andrew and Amanda have created a peaceful and artistic haven in the Mid-City/ Treme. I personally had to leave a terrible hotel last minute, and this place was a God-send in the way of regaining my sanity. I wish I could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for opening your home to travelers!

  • Fantastic hosts! Excellent communication, beautiful room. These guys are pros and will make your New Orleans adventure amazing. The homemade booklet of suggestions they made for us had great ideas! Would stay here again with no hesitations.

  • I loved staying in the Gold Room! Beautifully appointed room with a great bed! The pictures tell the story. Quiet block.

But, the really great part was the bikes in the back shed. Having access to a bike meant that I could get around town quickly and easily without having to deal with driving or getting a cab. With parades shutting down streets, having a bike is a great thing!

Cute coffee place (closed Monday's) is within a few blocks, if you don't want to use the kitchen.

  • The Gold Room couldn't have been more perfect. Location and amenities were wonderful of course, but more interesting was the room itself. Every detail was thought-of, and the room itself was unbelievably pleasant. The Gold Room was a key factor in our amazing trip to New Orleans!

  • Andrew and Amanda's home was quirky / comfortable / lovely... and our hosts were more than accommodating. We'd definitely recommend taking advantage of their bikes - Experiencing New Orleans on two wheels absolutely made our trip! We only had one issue: Although there was a ceiling fan and air conditioner for our use, it did get a little muggy / stuffy a couple of the nights (when hot and thunder storming). Not a huge issue, but I'm a light sleeper. Otherwise, a great stay!

  • We only spent one night here -- we arrived late and left`early -- but it was a hassle-free experience. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, the area was pretty quiet. We never met either host, but they were communicative via email. Thanks!
