Host was friendly in check in. Provided a fair a bit of local information.
The house was completed and clean. Its quiet small, but for my parents and I it was good enough and very comfortable.
We would stay there again :)
We were incredibly lucky to stay at Gianlucca's place. It was the perfect location, we had an excellent time!
Colonna was very accommodating to the time that we needed to check in and also gave good directions on how to get to her place from the airport. The place is very centrally located to everything which was great!
We enjoyed our stay in Gianluca & Flavias flat. The location was lovely. Also, Wifi was fast and helpful. We would recommend it for a local Roman experience!
I spent 4 nights at the flat and it was very nice! It is located about a ten-minute walk from the Colosseo Metro stop, on a winding street of shops. There is a gelateria next door (very good!) and a bread/pizza shop next to that (also very good!). There is a green outer door that opens to the courtyard and then each flat has its own door. Gianluca was kind enough to allow me to leave my luggage at the flat while he cleaned, as I arrived earlier than expected. Communication before and during my stay was prompt and there were no issues that came up during my stay. The flat is as represented in the photographs although the lighting was less bright. There is a small kitchenette - I cooked eggs for breakfast and everything worked fine. Sofa is comfortable and so is the bed up in the loft. There are interesting little trinkets on the shelves and paintings hung on the walls. Bathroom is small but well-lit, shower stall is also small. You pre-heat the water for the shower for about 30 minutes, so that does require pre-planning. I don't take long showers and there was only one time where the hot water ran out before I was finished. Wifi is strong and reliable. Be advised that the loft bed is close to the ceiling - it may not be the greatest choice if you are very tall. The A/C is also excellent - in fact, I had to raise the temperature because it works so well! The neighborhood is busy and lively but there isn't any noise to be heard because the flat is set back from the street. I felt completely safe walking around alone at night. Piazza Navona is 5-7 minutes walk and the Pantheon just 2-3 minutes further. You can get to everything easily. Check out was on my own as I put the keys into the post box outside the flat before I left. This was my first time in Rome and I really enjoyed myself. Definitely recommend this flat.
Gianluca was very friendly, responsive, and informative. He greeted us at the start of the street, to help us find the way and even helped with our bags. There were maps, soap, and shampoo provided. The room was exactly as advertised. Everything we needed was there and it was enough space for us two. The wifi was a bit spotty at times, but we we restarted our phones and it was as able to fix itself. There was minimal window space, so be prepared to set an alarm. While the apartment is on a busy street (which we liked because of the quality shops) the inner courtyard when you come in is quiet and charming.
The location was the best part: we were a ten minute walk from everything that we wanted to see. We are walkers, and didn't need to use public transport at all. We were able to walk to the coliseum, piazza navona, trevi fountain, travestere area. The restaurants, cafes, and bakeries nearby were great. There is even a luggage deposit next door that you can leave your baggage at and continue to explore Rome if you'd like to stay later than the check out time of 11am.
This apartment is in a perfect location for exploring my favorite part of Rome. Steps from the camp de fiori, I loved being right in all those tiny streets and just getting lost. The space is small, but well equipped with everything you could need. The lovely courtyard behind the big green door is a beautiful welcome to the eternal city.
