Welcome to "General Vallejo's Sanctuary". This newly remodeled private home is located in the heart of the Valley Of The Moon Wine Country and the historic town of Sonoma California. It is aptly named after the Spanish General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the founding father of the town of Sonoma. The area where this home is located was once part of General Vallejo's personal olive grove. A large olive tree, a remnant of Vallejo's own grove, stands majestically in the front yard.
We invite you to relax and escape in this calming, two bedroom, two bath oasis. The large open air rooms provide over 1200 square feet of living space, offering the amenities of a five star resort at a fraction of the cost. There is a spa/hot tub only a few steps from the master suite. Relax and enjoy mild weather afternoons and lazy evenings in the Sonoma climate under the shade of the comfortable umbrellas, perhaps while enjoying a massage. The ample 200 square foot deck, patio heaters, and grill provide a perfect setting for a refreshing drink and an evening of enjoyment and pleasure.
Come stay with us, relax and get a feel for life in the wine country! We are walking distance, (7 blocks), from the world famous Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa where with the purchase of a day pass you can indulge in the bathing ritual and soak in the healing mineral pools or rejuvenate yourself with an authentic spa treatment. We are 2.9 miles or 8 to 10 minutes depending on traffic from the Sonoma Square according to (website hidden) Maps.
While visiting many prefer to visit the world famous wineries located here in the Sonoma Valley such as Ledson Winery and Vineyards or Domaine Carneros noted for its sparkling wine. There are also many small, off the beaten path, family owned wineries such as Larson Family Winery, famous for their Three Lab Cab named after the families three dogs that lazily keep watch on the vineyards. Many wineries have free tasting available. Need a guided wine tour or a driver, ask us we can arrange it. At the end of a day wine tasting come home for a pleasant rest.
Many renowned restaurants just right around the corner. Walk to The Big 3 for lemon cottage cheese pancakes or crab quesadillas. My husband and I just returned from a great stay at General Vallejo! Stephanie and Jason were great hosts and had everything accessible. The guest house is lovely and is located in a great location. We will definitely come back when visiting in Sonoma.
We had a lovely stay at Stephanie and Jason's home! The property was clean, well-maintained, quiet, and spacious. It was plenty of room for our party of 4, and we enjoyed being close to wineries and to downtown Sonoma. Highly recommended!
It was a great house. Very clean and spacious. We had the option of checking in early, which was really nice. My only concern was that to avoid paying $30, we had to wash all of our linens and towels, which meant that we needed to wake up at 9am on a Sunday to make our check out time at 11am. We felt rushed leaving that morning and it made our stay not very relaxing. Overall, it's a great place, centrally located near to tons of wineries and downtown. I would recommend this place if you don't mind doing your own laundry!
Thank you for your review. Happy you were able to relax here with us and enjoyed the spaciousness of the rooms and yard. Also glad we were able to accommodate you and your guests and make it a little more relaxing for you with the three hour early check in you mention. Regarding the cleaning fee, our $30 fee is the smallest cleaning fee for all Airbnb rentals of homes our size in Sonoma. So anywhere else you would have stayed you would have paid more for a cleaning fee. And that amount is actually just a small portion of the amount that we pay to have the home cleaned after each guest, we just ask our guests to share a little of the expense with us. Also we give all our guest the option of cleaning or not and in your emails you told us you wanted to do the cleaning and save the $30. We really don't want our guests to feel rushed, but really that was your choice. Finally, we encourage all our guests to communicate with us, we even state in our listing and house rules that if you choose to do the laundry yourself you can leave the last load in the dryer. And If you had let us know its possible we could have even given you a little more time as we did on check in. As you indicate in your review we always try to be very flexible for our guests, we were just unaware of your situation because it didn't get communicated to us. We wish that could have been different, however we are glad you had an overall enjoyable relaxing stay with us here in the Sonoma wine country.
We had a wonderful time staying at General Vallejo's Sanctuary during our trip to Sonoma. It was a perfect home base after our adventures. Communication with Stephanie & Jason was easy and Jason was really warm and friendly when he welcomed us upon our arrival. The Back deck was a blast to hang out on and overall this was just an extremely relaxing and fun experience. I recommend highly!
The General Vallejo's Sanctuary really lived up to it's name- my party and I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay in this wonderful Sonoma sanctuary. All the amenities and furnishings were new and modern and Stephanie and Jason did all they could to warmly welcome us during our stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality, I look forward to my next visit!
Stephanie and Jason's home was exactly as described. It was clean, comfortable, and had all amenities needed. The back deck was super chill with a hot tub and comfortable chairs.
This is a great affordable option when visiting Sonoma.
We will definitely use it again.
Lovely place with great facilities. Beautifully clean. Happy to recommend to others.
My wife and parents were visiting Sonoma and we really liked Jason n Stephanie's house. Very spacious and a great backyard/deck area. Good instructions to enter check-in/check-out and got good winery recommendations from Jason.
Wish we could spend more time in the house - would totally recommend this place to anyone visiting Sonoma.
