Amanda is simply a tenant whom you share the space with, but I am just a phone call away and am always available to provide as much guidance, or as much privacy as you desire. Think of me like your 24 hour concierge! I love to get to know people and give you a New Orleans experience that is relevant to what you want to see and do here, even things that you had no idea even existed...
The house is in the Historic "Esplanade Ridge Neighborhood" Close to the "French Quarter/Bourbon St." Downtown and the Historic Marigny Neighborhood/Frenchman Street
A quiet and safe neighborhood where we know all of our neighbors and everyone looks out for one another, with families and young entrepreneurs dotting the area with eclectic bars, eateries and shops. The house is just a few blocks away from the fairgrounds, coffee shops, several good restaurant, and a small grocery store. A couple more blocks and you (email hidden) John, The New Orleans Museum of Art and City Park! The Superdome is a 10 minute bike ride away and only 1 mile to the French Quarter down beautoful Esplanade Ave.
Commonly sought after attractions within 2 miles of the house are: Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, Superdome, French Quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, City Park, DBA, Cafe du Monde, French Market, Spotted Cat, Cafe Negril, Blue Nile, The Maison, Apple Barrel, Coop's Place, Mardi Gras Zone, Mimi's in the Marigny, All Ways Lounge, and the Bywater, Marigny, 7th Ward, and Treme neighborhoods.
I recommend using the Free bikes to get around the area, New orleans is a small enough city geographically you can get virtually anywhere by a short bike ride!

Interaction with Guests
Amanda stays in the from of the house, but please contact Andrew with any questions, thanks!
We love our neighborhood and it loves us, so please show it respect. A lot of respect. Thank you.
I recommend using our Free bikes to get around the area, New orleans is a small enough city geographically you can get virtually anywhere by a short bike ride! there is also a Public bus up and down Esplanade ave (91 bus) that takes you down and along the north end of the "French Quarter"
*a note on the bikes:
The bikes are FREE so they are not the fanciest of rides. Mainly geared toward the travelers who are down for an adventure, and aren't expecting a Lexus, they're more like an old Toyota (strong guts, but moody) But we love them, they have their quirks, and they get a lot of use. Please, if you are not used to working with a used "get around town bike" than consider renting a bike from one of the many lovely rentals around town. (Gerkins, Bicycle Michaels, or Crescent City Bike Tours)
Other Things to Note
No pets please, allergy concerns, THANKS!

and THANK YOU for staying with The House of Sweet Dreams!
Andrew and Amanda, the tenant, are very welcoming people and were very kind and available for every questions I had.
The place is not too far from the French quarter (2O-25 minutes walking), nice walk on a sunny day, and 5 minutes by cab.
I loved my stay in the Red Room and New Orleans. I went to many of the sights in the zine and also liked the included map more than any other free map I was able to procure. The bikes were great. I literally rode every single one of them. The neighborhood was just far away enough from the action but still was very cool. I loved chatting with two retired sisters down the block sitting on their porch every morning. About the place: clean, comfortable, friendly, great decor. Coming back at night was a pleasant surprise as their were dreamy motion activated lights along the path to the back. Having my own back entrance door was super great too. Would recommend and would definitely stay again! Thanks!
This was our first time using Airbnb and with that said I had no idea what to expect. This could not have went any better. The location was superb with an excellent breakfast cafe just around the corner - everything is a short bus ride, walk or bike. Heck yeah. The room itself was clean, the interior was aesthetically pleasing, and though I thought it would be awkward with someone staying in the front, we had laughs with Amanda & all around felt ourselves not wanting to leave towards the end of our 3 night stay. We hit up every place on the zine of places to see that Andrew provided - will recommend this place to anyone looking for a true NOLA experience.
My stay at the Red Room was perfect. Check in was easy and it was a reasonable locations for visiting different parts of the city. The art museum and sculpture garden in city park is great! I rented a car and traveling all through out the city. My trip to New Orleans was partially great thanks to Andrew's handbook he provided with local must see activities and restaurants in the city. Thanks Andrew!
Andrew was responsive and prompt with answers to any questions or concerns. The neighborhood was very friendly and just a quick bike ride to the French Quarter, Marigny, and Bywater neighborhoods.
Room was fantastic, bed was comfortable, house was cute and quiet. Really enjoyed staying a little further out in a non-touristy area of town. Would recommend!

I am an artist who travels very often, I tour the world creating art installations and large group projects. Air Bnb is the perfect solution to keeping my home "lived in and loved" while I am in town or away!
When traveling I am usually driving my 40ft school bus converted in to an Art Studio all over the country creating large scale art installations, I studied Sculpture in Washington, DC and now love to call New Orleans; HOME!
I am so grateful for Airbnb and the world it opens up for me being able to host so many different people from everywhere on earth, I am happy to have you as my guest, welcome, please make yourself at home in our home, and see you soon!
