There are three rooms in the house, The two Air Bnb Rooms and My friend Amanda's room who lives in the front of the house and uses the front door. All Bnb guests use the side door to the right of the house.

Amanda is simply a tenant whom you share the space with, but I am just a phone call away and am always available to provide as much guidance, or as much privacy as you desire. Think of me like your 24 hour concierge! I love to get to know people and give you a New Orleans experience that is relevant to what you want to see and do here, even things that you had no idea even existed...

The house is in the Historic "Esplanade Ridge Neighborhood" Close to the "French Quarter/Bourbon St." Downtown and the Historic Marigny Neighborhood/Frenchman Street
A quiet and safe neighborhood where we know all of our neighbors and everyone looks out for one another, with families and young entrepreneurs dotting the area with eclectic bars, eateries and shops. A couple more blocks and you (email hidden) John, The New Orleans Museum of Art and City Park! The Superdome is a 10 minute bike ride away and only 1 mile to the French Quarter down beautoful Esplanade Ave.

Commonly sought after attractions within 2 miles of the house are: Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, Superdome, French Quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, City Park, DBA, Cafe du Monde, French Market, Spotted Cat, Cafe Negril, Blue Nile, The Maison, Apple Barrel, Coop's Place, Mardi Gras Zone, Mimi's in the Marigny, All Ways Lounge, and the Bywater, Marigny, 7th Ward, and Treme neighborhoods.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The Red Room is awesome. My lady friend and I visited during Essence Fest weekend (unbeknownst to us) and could not find anything affordable. We honestly lucked out with this little gem. The private entrance and detailed directions made getting in a breeze. The kitchen and overall attention to detail were just like the pictures: very cool.

One word on the neighborhood- may look a little 'hood' from (website hidden) streetview, but it has character. Once we got there and saw families and kids outside, it felt just fine. An added plus were the sounds of jazz trumpet coming from the inside of the house across the street while we were going to the car. Goodjob on this one and thank you for sharing a piece of your city with us.

  • I only stayed here a few hours.

Entry into the place was extremely easy. Bus ride instructions were very good.

A few things were disappointing. Flies. The place was full of flies and roach traps when I arrived. I didn't like that. Hair. The bathroom tub and sink had random hair which kind of grossed me out. I don't know if I saw the host or not. A random guy and girl came out of their room to use the bathroom but never really said hello. Don't know who they were. $10-$12 cab rides to main events and back to bnb. Way off the beaten track....way,way off. Was not worth $179 for the night (at all). I would not recommend this place to friends.

  • Took a spontaneous trip to New Orleans and needed a lady minute place to stay. Andrew was accommodating and responsive. It was easy to get into the room and the house had a cozy traditional New Orleans feel. The set up and decor made you feel like you were in a dream. We would have loved to stay an extra night, but this popular spot was already booked. I would highly recommend to any friends in town for a visit.

  • Andrew was always available by phone when I had questions. The room was clean and spacious. The neighborhood was safe and close enough to downtown to easily walk. The booklet Andrew provided detailed the locations of several cool coffee shops within walking distance too.

  • The room/house was clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom. I really enjoyed the using the bikes. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. Neighborhood was ok - a bit removed from the Quarter and Garden District etc, but close to City Park. My only gripe would be to worry a little in the hottest parts of the summer if the window-unit AC will be adequate. Good deal for the price.

  • I wasn't able to meet Andrew, as he was on vacation, but I did have the pleasure of meeting Amanda who was very sweet. The room, kitchen, and bathroom, were all very clean with a charming aesthetic. Having bicycle access was important for me, and the ones available were - more or less - cruisers; perfect for a city with old roads and innumerable potholes. It's centrally located and very close to Esplande Ave, a gorgeous mansion lined street that'll take you into the French Quarter in about 12min. There's a solid breakfast/lunch place about two blocks away with some killer iced-coffee.

  • The luscious room provided the stay in New Orleans I had imagined for us. My partner and I were going to be in the city for three nights for a wedding and wanted to get the most of our time here on a budget. We were able to see ride the bikes and discover corners of the city not usually visited by tourists and loved every minute of it. The energy in this city is something different than Ive ever experienced before, the energy in the Room kept it consistent. From the minute we landed we surrounded by history, decadence, music, food and fantastic hospitality. Its hard to put into words but I will be back, to stay at another one of Andrew's rooms and then maybe for a more permanent stay.
