Ideally located, our home features both privacy and the convenience to all the island's amenities. Relax in the enclosure of oak, pine and palm, yet still be able bike or walk 3 short blocks to the grocery, restaurants and shops. When it's time for a swim, just slip out your backyard down your private path and shortcut toward the beach which is only a 3-minute walk away.

This uniquely designed, multi-level home is extremely spacious, with a large open living area featuring a hardwood floor, a dramatic vaulted ceiling, skylights, a brand new, 46'' HDTV with cable/Blu-ray and comfortable furniture, incl. queen sleeper. If you are cooking in the kitchen, you can still be part of the conversation and fun, as the kitchen is open to the living and dining area. Enjoy your meals indoors or out, as the tiled dining room opens onto a large 40' X 12' sun-drenched, partially covered deck equipped for ultimate relaxation and sun worshiping.

If it gets too hot on the deck, simply take a break and relax in the palm tree shaded hammock in the tree grove next to the bbq pit.

Up three steps from the living area are two spacious bedrooms (queen beds) with 32' HDTVs/DVDs and shared bathroom in the hallway. Up the flight of stairs is the light-filled master bedroom (king mattress) and bath. Have a glass of wine on your private deck with its view of the Gulf, then keep your sliding screened door open and let the sound of the ocean lull you to sleep.

The private outdoor hot-and-cold shower is great after a day at the beach, or just for cooling off.

Make sure you bring Rover to this pet friendly home. He'll enjoy relaxing in his 10' x 10' covered outdoor pen after a run on the beach.

Only 8 miles away, Apalachicola is a great day trip. In 2008, the National Trust for Historic Preservation named Apalachicola a Distinctive Destination: architecture, beautiful antebellum homes, a true working waterfront are some of the reasons for this award. Only 2 other Florida cities share this distinction, Key West and Fernandina Beach.

  • We had a great vacation at the Aargh house! Plenty of space for all of us and our children and although we didn't bring our furry family members, they have a great set up for dogs here as (website hidden). George Island is a very friendly and private beach. We set up our cabana and left it the entire week along with our chairs and no one touched them, made it easy to just stroll down to the beach each morning. Its a short walk from the house across the street to the beach. The queen bed in the room we stayed was fabulous and that is coming from a chiropractor! Stay here, you won't be disappointed! Kitchen is well equipped as we made many meals there. And we highly suggest Boss's seafood if you go out to eat. Great place to take children and the food was great!

About
In 2012 our extended family collectively bought and fixed up this gorgeous house by ourselves (but to be honest, brother Tom, a top notch contractor, did all the major renovations). We had a lot of fun, except when we hammered our thumbs or spilled paint or measured wrong, which is where the name "Aargh" House came from. Our families are spread out all over the world and we wanted to make a home on the beach that we could all use and where we could get together. The rest of the time, we want to share it with people (and their puppies!) who love it as much as we do.
