This is a downstairs room. It is located right off a family room with a TV and ping pong table, private double bathroom and small kitchenette.
This is one of two rooms available in our home listed on Airbnb. It is in the lower part of our home which allows for more privacy and accesses the game room, cable TV and Internet. We have just finished a new private, double bathroom with mini kitchenette for this listing. Guests will no longer have to share a bathroom and will have their own refrigerator. This lower level is occasionaly accessed by ourselves and other guests for enjoyment. Keeping your personal items in your room is appreciated. There is a possibility to accommodate extra guests in the lower level for an additional reasonable fee.
Charming location right in the heart of Wine Country. Our home is surrounded by cherry orchards, over a dozen wineries, 2 gorgeous peninsulas, several quaint villages, and downtown Traverse City is a short 5 minute drive. Spend a day visiting the shops and restaurants of Traverse City, touring local wineries or seeing the sights of Sleeping Bear National Lake shore. Enjoy miles of paved bike paths (TART Trails), expansive sandy beaches on Lake Michigan, or a quiet walk along the beautiful Boardman River. Wind down in a comfortable, cozy, quiet cul-de-sac while you recharge for tomorrow's adventure. We do have a small pet chihuahua, Oreo, who is crated during the day when we are away from the house. He is not allowed on the furniture or beds so no dog hair problem. He is a little member of our family and is most often found napping in a sunbeam :)
Breakfast in the morning is somewhat on your own. You can help yourself to yogurt, bagels, toast or breakfast bars to go. Coffee and tea are always available.
**Be sure to check out our guide book for more information on many area attractions and entertainment!

Interaction with Guests
We enjoy interaction with our guests as their schedule allows. We work during the week so our time is limited then, but we are able to enjoy your company more on the weekends.
Our neighborhood is a quiet Cul-de-sac, but close to the city without the noise.
To live and travel in the Traverse City area you will definitely need a vehicle.
Other Things to Note
Although there is no air conditioner for this listing, it is in our basement where we also have a dehumidifier so it stays nice and cool in the summer.

Staying with Rene and Scott is the best bnb experience. We have the whole basement and lots of privacy. The house is super clean and the bed is so cozy! It is quiet too. Scott and Rene has shared their bnb experience and they have lots if local travel magazines too. I enjoyed our stay very much!
Rene and Scott stayed awake until we arrived in the late evening, which was incredibly nice! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Everything was as described. We will definitely stay with them again if possible! :)
Our stay here was amazing! They were so accommodating and welcomed us with delicious cookies and were more than willing to answer any questions we had about the area. Their place was close to TC and about 30 mins from the sleeping bear dunes. Their dog Oreo was soo cute! Our room and the large space in the basement were perfect for our 2 day stay.
Scott and Rene were great hosts, very friendly and accommodating. they have a beautiful home, just outside traverse city, half an hour's drive from sleeping bear national lakeshore, and near some great wineries (tho we didn't get around to them this trip). my wife and i had a great stay, would both highly recommend Scott and Rene's place.
Scott and Rene welcomed us into their home, even though we surprised them with an early arrival. There place was very clean and they tried very hard to make the place pleasant for visitors. They even discussed the changes they are making to improve the guest's stay. Unfortunately, we were toward the end of our mini-vacation and went to bed early exhausted.
Scott and Rene were extremely gracious hosts and we would highly recommend staying with them! When we arrived, they had a personalized welcome note as well as a welcome gift, fresh towels, a binder full of menus and things to do, bottled water, and wifi. The bathroom for our particular room was located upstairs, but they were in the process of building a new one downstairs right next to the room which would be an amazing upgrade to an already fantastic space. In the bathroom they had a basket full of commonly forgotten travel items in case we needed them, and everything was nice and clean. The room next to our bedroom had a television and a ping pong table, and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. We would stay here again!
Scott & Rene were gracious hosts, and all went well with our stay. We had some great conversations, but mostly just slept there, as we were busy at Interlochen with our son's graduation most of the time. Beautiful area. Wish we could have explored a little more.

We love living in beautiful Northern Michigan. We are both pretty laid back and enjoy meeting new people. We also love to travel and Airbnb has allowed us meet some very nice people as well as save money on our own travels. After staying at a few places through Airbnb ourselves we thought we might do the same with a few extra rooms we have in our home. So far it has worked out very well. We would like to be able to visit with you when you come to our home if you have time. Feel free to join us if time allows.
