My girlfriend and I stayed at the treehouse for our anniversary and it could not have been a more perfect evening! It was beautifully built, adorablely decorated, clean, and very comfortable. I had arranged for a cake to be delivered before we arrived. As it was meant to be a surprise for my girlfriend, Doug and Linda were so kind to bring it up and place it on the table inside with a cake knife and two plates and forks. Upon arrival her smile and excitement skyrocketed. Not only were we going to be sleeping in a treehouse...but now there was cake, too!
At night we read some of our favorite childhood books on the porch by candlelight under the stars. They on a shelf in the treehouse along with a large selection of dvds! It does not matter if you are young or old, Dr. Suess is a classic.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun, unique night away!
Thank you so much Doug and Linda! We will be back, for sure :-)
This place is a little bit of magic! Super cozy and a really positive, upbeat, rustic but very comfortable vibe. Inspirational really. I'll go out on a limb (sorry, couldn't help it) by saying you will love this spot!
Once again the treehouse was magical. Dave and Linda are gracious hosts and our stay was warm and wonderful. This is by far my favorite place to stay in California!
I chose to stay for a week at this peaceful treehouse in order to do some writing. It was the perfect spot for me. Linda and Doug were attentive to any concerns or needs, yet also very respectful of my need for privacy. It was an added bonus and pleasure to talk with them a bit about their lovely place, as the symbolic meaning of the treehouse is the focus of my writing. They were both gracious, authentic and reflective in talking about what this treehouse has meant to the family over the years. Opening it up to treehouse lovers like me is a generous gift to anyone who wants to be held (and sometimes, in the rain, swayed gently) by this beautiful, 150 year old tree. This wee house is indeed very special, full of treasures and comfy spots and grateful memories from many guests. I also came to love this tree and the way it's big branches seemed almost like an open hand holding the house securely in its palm. It is a treasure and my hope is that future guests will always treat it this way as well! I highly recommend it as a wonderful getaway to reflect, rejuvenate, have a romantic weekend, or bring a child or two (who will love it!). It deserves to be treasured!
Stayed here one brief night and it was perfect for a fun, adventurous evening before our early flight out of SFO. Linda and Doug provided us with fresh chocolate chip cookies upon arrival and an extensive continental style breakfast the next morning, even though we left at 6am. The treehouse was clean and well kept and we loved reading through the guest book by candlelight. We ordered pizza and it was delivered right to our door. Overall, these hosts and accommodations are highly recommended to anyone looking to spend a night in treehouse.
Our overnight stay at Linda and Doug's tree house was a dream come true. My 11 year old daughter is a fan of the TV show "Treehouse Masters" and has always wanted to sleep in a tree house. From the moment we climbed up the ladder, we were delighted. The tree house is cozy and adorably decorated. We loved all the little touches -- warm chocolate chip cookies, funky quilts, great books and DVDs, a set of dominos and cards. We loved ordering pizza and having it delivered right to the tree! Breakfast the next day was simple and delicious. It was hard to leave the little cottage in the live oak tree. Thank you, Linda and Doug! We will be back!
I wanted to do something special for my nephews. This was the perfect spot. Wonderful, classy, serene and relaxing. We are certainly coming back!!!!
The tree house was a fun experience. Although I didn't get a chance to meet Linda, but Doug is very kind and down to earth. I enjoyed my adventure in the tree house. Thanks Doug & Linda
Doug and Linda were wonderful! Did not even see them the whole trip but they made sure that my boyfriend and I were well accommodated. The treehouse was beautiful, roomy, and comfortable. We loved it!
The treehouse is amazing! Super cute, a must do! Clean, very little noise, and super cozy! All the comforts of home just better since you're in a tree! We woke up to a nice little breakfast downstairs in the kitchen, really nice touch!
