Our little treehouse (now for grown ups) offers the best of both worlds - securely nestled above it all in a quiet forested canyon with a serene Bay view, yet 20 minutes to San Francisco, 10 to SFO and an easy scenic drive to the Pacific Ocean and the Silicon Valley.

The space

Serenity for 1, ideal for 2, the Treehouse is a very special retreat for one adult or a couple. Sorry, NO CHILDREN!

Suitable for candle-light dinners, relaxing, reflecting, rejuvenating or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of nature - birds singing, morning sun rays sprinkling through the rustling leaves, a squirrel scampering across the roof! Enjoy the sunset or sunrise with a beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay from the wrap-around deck. Fluffy down duvet comforter/pillows & quilts will keep you warm and cozy. Comfy queen size bed w/crisp linens in the sleeping loft and a lower level chaise/reading nook.

Remember, this is a true TREEHOUSE, a wee house in our big 150 year old Live Oak tree, which we built with love for our own growing family nearly 18 years ago. We feel so fortunate to share this experience with you and we take great care in making your stay comfortable, inviting and private. However, if you are expecting the Ritz versus a natural retreat, you may want to reconsider!

Guest access

A private kitchenette and W.C. (shower & toilet) in the lower level of our log home with your own private entrance is just 30 feet from the base of the treehouse (the path is lit at night). We provide fluffy towels/shampoo/conditioner/hair dryer. The kitchenette amenities include a small fridge, coffee & coffeemaker, electric water kettle for tea. There is NO stove/oven -- No cooking. We provide a light, healthy continental breakfast and a basket for transporting your breakfast up to the treehouse so you can eat at your leisure while watching the sunrise and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature from the treehouse & deck. For evening, most guests prefer to savor their time in the treehouse. Delicious locally made pizza or sandwiches/salads can be delivered right to the treehouse! We have phone numbers posted in the treehouse for your convenience. Alternatively, many diverse restaurants and amenities are a short drive away.

NOTE; Absolutely NO unauthorized guests are permitted. NO exceptions!

Interaction with guests

We respect your privacy! We will welcome you & show you the essentials --and then we will leave you to yourselves to explore and enjoy your very special time in the treehouse. However, we are only a text away should you need anything.

Other things to note

R-E-S-P-E-C-T; Must like the Beatles, Dylan & Bob Marley! Must believe in a bit of magic and have a regard for trees and all living things!

It is a pretty nice and sweet place to live. It would be a fantastic night to stay if you never live on a tree before.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our anniversary. We spent a unique and relaxing weekend in this lovely tree house. Doug, Mackenzie and Chloe were great hosts. They were very responsive and you can tell they take good care of this special place. Some yummy brownie was waiting for us upon arrival, and the breakfasts they prepared for us every morning was simply delicious! We highly recommend it!

Beyond expectation!! That's the word I would say about the tree house. I planned and waited for several months to visit this house. And it was really amazing that all the decos and the interior were so thoughtful and considerate. And also I could feel this family's love and times has been going. I already had many great memories in western USA cuz we traveled around sequoia and valley of fire and even we had still last year's memory of grand canyon and monument valley. But the night at the tree house could be the best ending for our journey. Even more there were no bugs (I'm afraid of bugs) and the bathroom and bed was really clean and cozy. We greeted tree house's morning with full of fresh air, birds singing and the bay view btw trees. I will do visit here again someday. Really really great time and so sad that couldn't stay more. I finally understood the good reviews here :)

The treehouse is really a great place for getting away from noisy city life. My friend and I spent one night there, looked at the beautiful blue sky and crystal moon light and felt that the things bothering us are thrown away far. It' comfortable and cozy. The host has provided convenient stuff everywhere so you really don't need to worry much.

Doug, Mackenzie, Chloe User ProfileDoug, Mackenzie, Chloe is a superhost.

Our family loves nature, travel and meeting people from around the world. Through Airbnb we’ve found we are connected with other travelers in a very special way.

It’s great to share a few moments with guests and to provide a unique and private accommodation for them. We also enjoy sharing our insights about the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area which we call home.

We pass along these encouraging words from Nelson Mandella, "May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears."
