Interaction with Guests
We are really hands on and we like to get our guests acquainted with their new neighborhood. So, you can expect us to be doting landlords until you get a feel for where you are and where things that you like can be found.
Otherwise, we live in the building and respond on a dime if you need anything.
Our guests love this neighborhood due to its proximity to great restaurants, cafe's, the public library, a foreign films theater, gas station, grocery store and drug store.
Walkers, runners and bikers love the routes through the beautiful streets with towering oaks and friendly neighbors.
Our cultural center, Severance Circle is 5 minutes driving time away. Here are our symphony hall, art museum, natural history museum, botanical garden, Case Western Reserve University and our esteemed hospitals, The Cleveland Clinic & University Hospital.
In season, farmers markets abound in several locations within minutes of the house.
The big box stores are all with 5 minutes driving time, if you have to go there.
We frequently provide rides back and forth from University Circle and the Cleveland Clinic. If you have a bike....bring it as we are in great riding country.
Public transportation is provided by RTA (Regional Transit Authority). The bus stop is 1 block away.
No smoking, please, in or on premises. No pets.
Overall WONDERFUL stay. Brooks is an awesome host! It was easy to work out a check-in and check-out time that worked for our schedule. He greeted us as we pulled in, showed us what keys to use and gave us a quick tour of the apartment. Answered all our questions and assured us to contact him if we needed anything. He always came through! We felt really comfortable in the apartment and could peacefully sleep-in every morning and never be disrupted by any noise from neighbors :D. We enjoyed one evening across the street at Nighttown for Jazz and another night at Buffalo Wild Wings having beers, watching games, and playing trivia. Great environment and neighborhood.
Only 1 Con= The ticking noise made by the heater when it was getting going throughout the night and early morning. To Brooks defense we never contacted him about it because we would forget while awake or out and about. It was just a little annoying BUT we were thankful for the heater given how cold the weekend was.
This apt will be recommended to others and I may even be back!
Brooks made me feel very welcome from the moment I pulled into the neighborhood. He met me out front and eliminated any confusion about where the place was, how to get in, and where to park. He then gave me a tour of the place and gave me a list of near by shopping. Ultimately, he made me feel at home in my new surroundings.
Brooks was very welcoming an attentive. The apartment was spacious and well-outfitted, close to a grocery store and several restaurants and banks as well as walking distance to Case Western. Overall a very good experience.
The place was great - comfortable, nice neighborhood, very convenient to Cleveland Clinic. Brooks was a very helpful, gracious host - all in all a good experience.
Brooks was a very friendly and hospitable host. He was easy to communicate with, and was always at the ready if we needed something. His flat was clean and updated with high ceilings, and is in a great neighborhood. If we had needed to cook a meal, the renovated kitchen would have made our stay even better. Absolutely no complaints, and would definitely stay again if in the area.
This cozy apartment is in a super neighborhood that is convenient to a grocery store and a number of restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries (most within walking distance). The neighborhood is terrific for walking. The apartment was quiet, and we felt safe staying there. Brooks was friendly and helpful.
I stayed in this apartment for 4 weeks. Brooks was kind and considerate and checked up on me to make sure everything was going smoothly. The apartment was quiet, clean and met my needs. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would stay with Brooks again should I return to Cleveland.

From our years as landlords, my wife, Mika and I have made our places home for hundreds of people; we love the friendships that we have created and we love taking care of people. We are very health oriented, we eat organically, we have a beautiful vegetable garden and we are very physically active; Mika is a yoga instructor, 2 kids are college athletes and 1 kid is a wilderness guide.
We feel that we have created wonderful spaces at our properties, and, influenced by what we were hearing from transplant families, we felt that we would like to provide healing, healthy and comfortable spaces, on a short term basis for anyone attracted to what we've created. We do this FULL TIME. Our guests include lots of Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital people, both patient families as well as md's, people between houses / jobs, film makers, travelling nurses, visitors, etc.
If we can't help you in time, we will refer to our comrades.
