Wonderful house with an absolutely beautiful view of the valley down below!! Slept five of us comfortably and was great for hanging out and having some drinks on the lower deck. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique neighborhood experience.

We absolutely loved this stay! From the downstairs outdoor seating area there was a beautiful view of the tropical forests and distant cities. Maria was extremely helpful and friendly and even waited to meet us for 3 extra hours after a flight delay and rental car issues. The wifi was great, clean house, comfortable beds, and a nice location near downtown Palmares. Only concerns were that there were no screens on the windows and no AC. Also, be wary of (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps leading you down dirt roads in the surrounding areas, as some of those roads are nearly impassable. Waze seemed to work better :)

Terrific location to base from, homey, beautiful view, great house layout, restrooms on all 3 levels, felt part of the the neighborhood. Every morning we were up & on the balcony on the second level to watch the sunrise profiling Volcan Poas and Volcan Barba. During the days were off to San Carlos, volcanoes, San Ramon, etc. Evenings were back on the huge balcony relaxing. Maria's aunt and uncle - Elizabeth and Carlos - live next door and assisted with accommodating us and any questions. Maria was checking in by messaging. We felt most fortunate to find such a perfect place to stay. I agree with all the other reviews. Hope to return to this home on the next trip. Thanks Maria, Vera, Elizabeth, and Carlos!

We were met early on our arrival day by representatives of the home, in the local town square and escorted to the home. We found Palmares to be a very clean, quaint, and quiet town with very friendly, helpful residents. The arrangements to connect and get settled into the home were very easy. It could not have gone smoother or quicker. When we arrived, we found the home just as listed on Airbnb. It met or exceeded our expectations in every way, with no disappointments. There are several outside spaces as well as a cozy interior of common living room, dining area, and kitchen. Three bedrooms. We had complete privacy but representatives were close by if we needed assistance. They made us feel like the home was ours for the time we stayed. Our host stayed in contact via email throughout our stay in case we needed anything. But, the stay was very pleasant and completely without any issue. I personally highly recommend the place. The views are great and the price was great for the value we received. I suspect we will want to stay there again if we return to Palmares, Costa Rica.

The house in Palmares was perfect for our family vacation. The town of Palmares is about an hour away from the San Jose Maria International Airport in San Jose. Because we arrived the day of the big town fiesta's we were unable to meet Maria, but that did not stop her from making sure we were well accommodated. Her aunt Elizabeth who lives with her family a few doors down greeted us and gave us the keys and run down on the town. Both Maria and Elizabeth were able to answer our questions and available when we needed them. The house had a beautiful view and was very clean. We had no trouble at all. If you are visiting Costa Rica, definitely consider this spot, we were able to get to Puntaranes, Monte Verde, Volcano Arenal and Jaco within hours!
