The house is 10min walk to the Eiffel Tower... It is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. A very central, lovely and wealthy neighbourhood with lots of shops and restaurants round the corner.
20 reviews by 20 amazing guests - 5 stars!
The place is a private modern converted warehouse on the side of a court. It is spacious with 130m2 spread over three levels and double height spaces. The court is private to four of the neighbours as well as a small coffee machine repair workshop during the week.
The entry door gives onto a landing space leading directly into the living room. A double height space with exposed wooden beams and modern white concrete walls. It is without a doubt the heart of the house! The living room is opened onto the dining room and is overlooked by two bedrooms and a mezzanine. At the far back of the dining room, by the concrete stair case, there is the ground floor bathroom with WC, wash hand basin and bath.
On the first floor, there is an en-suite double bed bedroom with private wash hand basin, shower and WC as well as a single bedroom with a study desk.
The master bedroom (double bed too) is on the second flood under the roof arches. A sofa and small table are positioned in one corner. In the opposite one are a study desk and book shelf.
On the mezzanine there is a single bed to accommodate a 6th person if needed. It is a cool place to sleep but please bear in mind that this is not a bedroom as such (open onto the living room and no curtains).
Just like a home, you will find a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, TV, Wifi internet, printer, bed linens and towels. Some fresh breakfast food on your arrival too!
We hope you will enjoy your stay...
Check in and check are completely flexible, just let us know what is the best for you and will try to accommodate...
My wife is a writer and artist. You will find a few of her original artworks and installations doted around the property. Our neighbour is an acclaimed Icelandic painter so you will also find a few reproduction and collage of his work in the house as well.
There is a traditional French street market twice a week... way better than the supermarket for food shopping!
The closest tube station “Emile Zola” is 1 min away, “La Motte Picquet Grenelle station” is also 3 min walk.
Other Things to Note
You may have noticed a rather big fish tank in the living room… don’t worry it is completely self-regulating. You won’t have to interact with it if you don’t want to, simply sit down and enjoy the calmness and the fishes.
Simply treat the house like your home... that is surely the most important "house rule".
We will explain you every thing about the house when you arrive, showing you all you need to know about the kitchen, internet/TV, surrounding area, etc etc.
There is a hard copy manual too! :)
We felt we were very lucky to have found this wonderful place to stay in Paris! Emmanuel and Joelle were very gracious and welcoming hosts. They provided us with all the details before our arrival and Joelle welcomed us in person with wonderful pastries, coffee, and juice. We felt truly welcomed! The house is very spacious and very quiet and is located in a great neighborhood. Thank you so much! We wished we could stay a lot longer!
Joelle and Emmanuel were there to greet us hours before the official check in time to allow us a full afternoon strolling the neighbourhood and nearby Eiffel Tower.
They have an infectious enthusiasm and greeted us like old friends!
Everything was perfect with this lovely muse house - warm, clean, quiet and quirky - I am now looking out for a set of light-up globes and a light-up Bambi!
The neighbourhood is wonderful with everything on the doorstep including a metro stop one minute away!
Highly recommended. You would be mad to stay elsewhere!
Chantal was very helpful making us feel at home. The place was exactly as expected, eclectic, interesting and fun. Not the run of the mill apartment one normally gets to experience in Paris. The stairs were NOT a turn off, since we love cooking and eating in, the kitchen was perfect and the dining table used A LOT. The beds very comfortable. The neighborhood loaded with top notch bakeries and every store you can imagine, all within walking distance. All I'm all a very fabulous place to stay Nd visit.
Top spot to use as home for the 3 days we had in Paris - very relaxed and secure with ample space for 5 adults. The wi-fi was excellent for keeping up with family back in Australia. Great that it is a leisurely stroll to the Eiffel Tower where we catch the Hop on Hop off bus and river cruise. Joelle met us at the house and oriented us to how things worked - and her English is great which helps when the appliances are written in French! We were asked to promise to have a good time in Paris and we did!! The highlight for us was going to the top of the Eiffel at night - terrifying but exhilarating!! Thanks again for a great place to call home in Paris.
Staying at Emmanuel's and Joelle's house was like a home away from home.
Upon arrival after a long flight with young kids, Joelle greeted us with food and drinks and guided us through the house and appliances.
The converted warehouse 3 bedroom house is accurately described and exceeded our expectations. we were able to relocate a single mattress from the loft so the boys could sleep in the same room in separate beds.
A detailed folder including maps with nearby food markets and shops is provided as well as private taxi details.
The area of grenelle was ideal for a week to base a young family to explore paris. The local area is clean and relatively safe. Public transport is easily accessible with 2 metro stations very close. Eiffel Tower is a short 15 min walk and the surrounding park was handy for morning jogs.
Emmanuel and Joelle were a pleasure to deal with in the lead up to the holiday and during our stay. A fantastic start for our experience with airbnb.
By the way, the fish tank and fish collection is amazing.
Very spacious, very convenient, very clean...perfect for a family to stay.
My wife Joelle, is a writer and novelist living in the country side where she can seek and find inspiration. As for me, I recently retired and retreated to the Normandy for more greenery. Our house is Paris is now vacant through the year and we would happily rent it to other wonderful people visiting Paris.
If you have any question about the house, or about planning your trip to Paris let me know, I would happily help you!
We are looking forward to hopefully meeting you and welcoming you to Paris.
