The house is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. A very central, lovely and wealthy neighbourhood with plenty of high street/food shops round the corner as well as family animations and a traditional French street market on week end.
The place is a private modern converted warehouse on the side of a court. It is spacious with 130m2 spread over three levels and double height space. A little bit less than 10min walk to the Eiffel Tower...The court is private to four of the neighbours as well as a small coffee machine repairs workshop during the week.
The entry door gives onto a landing space leading directly into the living room. A double height space with exposed wooden beams and modern white concrete walls. It is without a doubt the heart of the house! The living room is opened onto the dining room and is overlooked by a bedroom and a mezzanine. At the back of the dining room, by the concrete stair case, there is the ground floor bathroom with WC, Wash hand basin and bath.
On the first floor, there is an en-suite double bed bedroom with private wash hand basin, shower and WC as well as a single bedroom with a study desk.
The master bedroom (double bed too) is on the second flood under the roof arches. A sofa and small table is positioned in one corner. In the opposite one is a study desk and book shelf.
In the mezzanine there is a single bed to accommodate a 6th person if needed. It is a cool place to sleep but please bear in mind that this is not a bedroom as such (open onto the living room and no curtains.
Joelle is a writer and artist. You will find a few of her original art work and installations doted around the property. Our neighbour is an acclaimed Icelandic painter so you may also find a few reproduction and collage of his work in the house as well.
Mod and cons just like a home:washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, automatic orange juice press, TV, Wifi internet, printer, bed linens and towels.
You may have noticed a rather big fish tank in the living room… don’t worry it is completely self-regulating. You won’t have to interact with it if you don’t want to, simply sit down and enjoy the calmness and the fishes.
The closest tube station “Emile Zola” is 1 min away, “La Motte Picquet Grenelle station” is also 3 min walk.
Check in and check are completely flexible, just let us know what is the best for you and will try to accommodate...
We hope you will enjoy your stay...

We are a family of five been to Paris from 19 to 23 September. We were accommodated warmly by Emmanuel's son Amaury, who is very nice and considerate! Amaury explained everything for us patiently, and prepared various materials and ingredients for us to make food. Emmanuel also came to give us a warm welcome, although he was going for his holiday that day, and came to meet us again very early in the morning we left.
The house located nearby two metro stations and many restaurants. The big market nearby was very impressive for us, since the vegetables and fruits were arranged and displayed so neat and tidy!
The house itself is really spacious, just as it described on b&b. Rooms are big and comfortable. The kitchen is very convenient to use. And the most impressive part to me is the huge toilet!! Everything was so amazing, and we highly recommend people to stay at Emmanuel's when in Paris!
By the way, this was my first experience on air b&b, and I believe it will be my first choice in the future.
We had a nice stay at this home, it was very spacious and comfortable. The neighbourhood was good and safe very close to public transport and all amenities. Communication was great and they were very accommodating. Thank you very much!!
We spent a full month in this fabulous house and had a great time there. Emmanuel, Joëlle and their son Amaury were present at the begining of our stay to welcome us and take us for a very useful tour of the place. They are warm people and attentive hosts. It is obvious that they love their house, where they have lived for a very long time, and that they are taking very good care of it. The decor has a certain "pop art" feel, which makes it very interesting and full of fun surprises. Some renovations and improvements took place shortly before the beginning of our stay and made the place even more comfortable. There is ample lighting through windows and skylights, but the orientation is such that it never feels hot inside, even during a heat wave (which was the case in Paris when we visited). The house is quite big by Paris standards. It spreads on three floors, which is very convenient to give everyone a bit of privacy. The ground floor is made of a large open space (living and dining room) and a small kitchen equipped with all the essentials. We occupied the master beedroom on the top floor, a large room with a bed, a couch and two skylights (automated blinds allow to block the light at night). Our daughter slept in a bedroom located on the middle floor with an ensuite bathroom. As our stay was both for leisure and work, we used the mezzanine whenever one of us needed to be out ot the way to work, while everyone else could enjoy the rest of the house. Public transportation is extremely convenient, with the closest metro station (Émile-Zola) around the corner that allows you to get to the Latin Quarter within 15 minutes, and another station five minutes away (La Motte-Piquet) that is at the junction of three different lines. The house is located in a very quiet spot, yet just a minute away from bustlng Rue du Commerce which, as its name indicates, counts numerous stores - clothing, food, pharmacies, specialty shops, etc. There is a street market twice a week within a few minutes walk. We keep fond memories of this stay and would certainly consider renting this house again on another visit in Paris.
My first time on airbnb...
I had a great holiday in Paris, the house is huge and gorgeous (the big fish tank is a nice plus!). The area is really nice with plenty of shops (supermarkets, grocery store, bank, chemist and organic bread shop) and very close to the tube.
The checking experience was very smooth as well. I was welcome with a bottle of wine from Emmanuel’s cellar.
All good and as described! I would recommend staying there, it was a lovely experience…
