About this listing
The house is 10min walk to the Eiffel Tower... It is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. A very central, lovely and wealthy neighbourhood with lots of shops and restaurants round the corner.
27 reviews by 27 amazing guests - 5 stars!
The place is a private modern converted warehouse on the side of a court. It is spacious with 130m2 spread over three levels and double height spaces. The court is private to four of the neighbours as well as a small coffee machine repair workshop during the week.
The entry door gives onto a landing space leading directly into the living room. A double height space with exposed wooden beams and modern white concrete walls. It is without a doubt the heart of the house! The living room is opened onto the dining room and is overlooked by two bedrooms and a mezzanine. At the far back of the dining room, by the concrete stair case, there is the ground floor bathroom with WC, wash hand basin and bath.
On the first floor, there is an en-suite double bed bedroom with private wash hand basin, shower and WC as well as a single bedroom with a study desk.
The master bedroom (double bed too) is on the second flood under the roof arches. A convertible sofa/bed and small table are positioned in one corner. In the opposite one are a study desk and book shelf.
On the mezzanine there is a single bed to accommodate a 6th person if needed. It is a cool place to sleep but please bear in mind that this is not a bedroom as such (open onto the living room and no curtains).
Just like a home, you will find a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, TV, Wifi internet, printer, bed linens and towels.
We have a baby cot with mattress and baby chair too for babies from 1 to 3 years that you can use if you wish.
We hope you will enjoy your stay...
Check in and check are completely flexible, just let us know what is the best for you and will try to accommodate...
Interaction with Guests
We will welcome you upon arrival ( you can count on some fresh croissants too) and we will show everything regarding the house. If there is a problem during your stay we will of course help you with it!
My wife is a writer and artist. You will find a few of her original artworks and installations doted around the property. Our neighbour is an acclaimed Icelandic painter so you will also find a few reproduction and collage of his work in the house as well.
There is a traditional French street market twice a week... way better than the supermarket for food shopping!
The closest tube station “Emile Zola” is 1 min away, “La Motte Picquet Grenelle station” is also 3 min walk.
Other Things to Note
You may have noticed a rather big fish tank in the living room… don’t worry it is completely self-regulating. You won’t have to interact with it if you don’t want to, simply sit down and enjoy the calmness and the fishes.
Simply treat the house like your home...
We will explain you every thing about the house when you arrive, showing you all you need to know about the kitchen, internet/TV, surrounding area, etc etc. There is a hard copy manual too!

“This was by far, the most exceptional welcome I have ever had to someone's home. I can't rave enough; they should be official ambassadors for Airbnb.” – Elizabeth
Emmanuel, your apartment is simply WONDERFUL! Well located, stylish, spacious, neat, quiet, comfortable, etc. etc. The aquarium of African fish is amazing. My boy really loved it a lot and looked forward to the feeding time everyday. Jolle's artworks are interesting. Thank you for your care and good preparation, as well as Amuray's kind help with the check-in. Great hospitality as a whole!
Thank you so much, Joelle and Emmanuel! The artist's house was the most perfect accommodation for our family of 5. The house is very centrally located to two metro stations and the Eiffel Tower which made it very easy to get around. Joelle and Emmanuel greeted us with wonderful assortment of snacks and beverages, fresh flowers cut from their country side home and delicious home made bread (thanks, Emmanuel!).
Neighborhood felt very safe and there were two locks on the door and a main door outside of the complex that was kept closed in the evening hours. Lots of natural sunlight. Towels, hair dryer, iron, washing machine, dishes, cups, market bags were all provided by the host.
Go with Joelle's recommended restaurants and "things to do" - like the market (Wed and Sun).
Joelle took the time to walk us through the house, and tell us more about the neighborhood. We were very close to two metro stations, the Eiffel Tower, wonderful restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this house to anyone. It was so lofty and had a beautiful layout to accommodate our group. I fell in love with the small treehouse loft that made me feel like I was "glamping" in the middle of Paris.
Emmanuel's house is very close to 2 underground rail stations. Within easy walking distance are quite a large variety of shops which met all of our family's needs. The Eiffel tower is about a 20 to 30 minute walk from the house and it is from there that a lot of other tour buses leave, which made it very convenient.
Wonderful house for big groups and families. We stayed during a record breaking heat wave and the house remained manageable due to its sheltered location. The host family are great and they provide written information on the whole house and area.
The house went way beyond our expectations. The atmosphere was whimsical and romantic. Entering the house through a private courtyard, we immediately felt as if we lived in Paris... Exactly the reason I love Airbnb as opposed to being in a sterile hotel setting.
The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with all cooking essentials. Without hesitation, Emmanuel was kind enough to turn on the heat for us even though it was just slightly chilly at the end of spring. In other words, they were very concerned with our comfort. The neighborhood was very connected to Paris, with the metro lines available within a few blocks. The amazing Grennelle market is three blocks away, and on Sunday we were able to buy there provisions for four large meals. I couldn't recommend this listing more!
Joelle met us at the apartment and was so kind and generous! She had croissants, juice, and water set out for us. She was so excited that this was the first time for many of us to visit Paris and she genuinely was excited that we were getting to experience it. She went out of her way to provide a baby bed and high chair for our young daughter. She also set out Barbies for my other daughter to play with while we were in town. She loved them! The apartment is fantastic. The rooms were comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. My daughter loved playing the loft area about the living room. It was great to have a washing machine. The location was absolutely fantastic. You were walking distance to many shops and restaurants. It was also easy to take a taxi to other parts of the city. I highly recommend this apartment and would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.
