Beautiful Missoula Accommodation

House - Private room · Tamarack Trailer, Missoula, MT 59802, United States

My trailer is located in a pine grove just outside of Missoula. It's a very peaceful and well maintained court with lots of space, paved driveway and plenty of parking.
We have a very quiet neighborhood. Bus runs between Missoula Mon-Sat ~ 6am-7pm.

The Space

I am a former music composition student active in skiing, playing music and getting together with friends.

Music or arts interests are very welcome here. With new washer/dryer, refrigerator, and stove. No pets, no smoking.

My trailer is located in a pine grove just outside of Missoula. It's a very peaceful and well maintained court with lots of space, paved driveway and plenty of parking.
We have a very quiet neighborhood. It is kid friendly and I personally know several of my neighbors. I feel very secure and love to go out for a walk to the river.

I'm a good cook, and bake a lot - bread, cake. There is lot's of opportunity for hiking or biking near my home. Downtown Missoula is about 5 miles away and is where most of the restaurants, attractions and shops are.

Traveling without a car? The bus runs to and from Missoula, stopping at my street every hour except for evenings, lunches and Sundays. I highly recommend the bike ride to and from town as well.

Guest Access

There is a kitchen between the living room and bedrooms. Laundry and bathroom facilities are between the bedrooms. An outside porch may be used for lunches and greetings.

Interaction with Guests

I need to go into town quite often because I'm working part time at home and part time in town. I do some interaction and enjoy meeting and talking with guests.

The Neighborhood

While writing this in the winter there's just not that much to say, unless you remember back to the summer and hope for the same warm sunny days. The neighborhood is quiet and secluded in a tall pine grove.

Getting around

The Mountain Line of Missoula's route #4 goes past the driveway of the trailer court. If's about the length of a city block to that bus stop from my house.
You could look up route 4 to see a schedule but it basically comes down to daily except Sunday & Holidays, hourly, between 7 am and 7pm.

  • My wife and I stayed two nights with Arlan. Quiet and peaceful location - a quick drive into the city. Bed was comfortable. What you see is what you get - decent digs at a great price. Arlan communicated well before our stay and was helpful in getting us oriented. He even may a customized hiking map on his computer and emailed it me!

  • Stayed here on our way from Seattle to Big Sky. Fresh coffee in the morning was really nice.

  • This room is cozy, clean and quiet. You get what you see, so surprises. It is a great value for a straight forward comfy place to rest your head. It's great to not have to pay extra for all the frills of some swanky or overly trendy place. Arlan was a very inviting host and his freshly baked bread in the morning was a treat. He took us in last minute and was quick to communicate. I enjoyed the feel of his home. Thanks!

  • Arlan was an excellent host. Place was perfect and close to town. On my next visit, I will definitely look to stay again.

  • Arlen was wonderful! I stayed with him on two separate days during my short visit to Missoula. The first night, I was exhausted and went right to sleep and slept the best night of my whole trip.

On the second night I stayed with Arlen, I had a little more time and energy. He offered me tea and we chilled and had a really nice conversation. He has a very peaceful and welcoming presence about him. I felt very comfortable and at home both with him and in his space.

Thank you so much for everything, Arlen!

  • Arlan was a very uncomplicated, easy to get along with host. He has a very quiet place along the river which is an easy bike ride to downtown Missoula. We enjoyed the stay very much and would gladly return!

  • Arlan is such a great guy! He made me feel right at home; I felt very comfortable to just relax and enjoy his company. We had some really good conversations about family, and life in general. He's a good conversationalist, and an all around great guy.
The accommodations were comfortable; I had my own room with a queen size bed, bureau, and some closet space to hang anything. He even was kind enough let me wash my laundry, providing detergent as well. His place is in a wooded setting with pine trees and at the base of a mountain. His neighbors are quiet as well. A very peaceful place outside of Missoula.
Arlan is a very down to earth guy with a warm personality. You'll be glad you met him!

  • Arlan was very friendly and helpful. His place was very comfortable to stay in and clean. He was knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and things to do. Arlan was a great host! His place is located right outside of town but still very close to many great restaurants.

I'm from the area. I grew up in the Bitteroot Valley as the youngest of six kids, traveled on a competative ski team with my brothers until I was 25. Then coached. Along the way I took up Music Composition at the University of Montana and remain a performer / composer. The latest endeavors include home improvement and design projects for myself and friends. I also have become interested in computer programing. That is the carreer side. On the lifestyle side. I still ski a lot, write and play music, cook and enjoy meeting with friends for First Friday gallery walks, film festivals and dinner parties.
