A Warm Home in Wintery Wonderland

Apartment - Private room · Green St. Apt, Syracuse, NY 13203, United States

The Space

My wife and I recently moved into a huge, cozy 2 bedroom apartment, built in 1901 and is only one mile away from Syracuse University.

We have a queen-size bed in the Master bedroom and a full-size bed in the Guest-room / office, and share a very spacious kitchen and bathroom.

You'll feel right at home in one of the most beautiful tree-lined streets in historic Syracuse. Relax in front of the fire and in the eclectic old world charm of our happy home.

(Please note- as this is the space we live in, we cannot rent out to more than 2 people when we are home. When we are not in town, we can happily rent out the whole apartment to more than 2 people for just $125 per night.)

Interaction with Guests

We love meeting new, creative, curious, intelligent people, while making them feel at home and respecting their space.

The Neighborhood

It really is one the the most beautifully gentrified neighborhoods in Syracuse.

Getting around

Our apartment is close to downtown and several amazing restaurants are right around the corner. The bus line to SU is around the corner on James Street and entrances to both the 81 and 690 freeways are within a 2 minute drive. Amtrak and Greyhound stations are also only 5 to 6 minutes from our doorstep.

  • I could not have had a better experience! Mark's wife Taapsi showed perfect hospitality, and was welcoming and kind- staying here made me less nervous about my conference and allowed me to relax. I highly recommend these hosts.

  • Taapsi and Mark's home have a beautiful home!! We never got a chance to meet Mark, but Taapsi was a lovely host. She was incredibly accommodating when we had to push our arrival time to very late. The bed and air mattress were incredibly comfortable, and the room was lovely. Next time I am in Syracuse, I will definitely stay there again!

  • Mark and Taapsi's home was cozy, comfortable, warm and welcoming, as were they. This was a wonderful refuge to discover on a cold and windy Syracuse evening. Although our stay was brief, we felt truly at home and wished we could have stayed longer to get to know Mark and Taapsi better. Highly recommend and loved the lunch spot we were sent to as well. We hope to return!

  • Mark was a kind and welcoming host. His beautiful flat was clean and quiet, and the neighborhood, very pleasant with many architecturally interesting houses, and a nice cafe and wine bar near by.

  • This is my second stay with Mark and his fiancee. They have upgraded into a beautiful home with a really cozy yet spacious feel. They are wonderful people who I would stay with again and again.

  • Taapsi is a great hostess! She is generous, kind and very interesting to talk to. I was invited to her lovely party on Saturday night and was made to feel so welcomed the whole time I was there. They really have a beautiful home:) I look forward to staying there again the next time I visit my son at Syracuse University!

  • I am so glad I stayed with Mark and Taapsi! I visited Syracuse for three days to attend a conference. Most of the activities were close to downtown, and I needed an affordable option that was nearby. Mark and Taapsi’s place is cozy, with eclectic and colorful décor. It’s situated on a tree-lined street in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods I found in the city. It was also an easy 10-minute walk to Crown Plaza, where my conference was based. They were both friendly and welcoming hosts. I always enjoyed our conversations about art and travel. They offered me to join them for dinner the first night, but also provided suggestions for nearby restaurants. They left an umbrella when a storm came in, and even suggested I borrow a bike if I wanted to get to some of the more distant parts of town. I had an excellent weekend with my hosts. I would highly recommend.

  • Really nice couple and nice room. They are super friendly and accommodating. I forgot my alarm clock at their place and they dropped it off for me downtown. Highly recommend.

I grew up in the sleepy little college town of Davis, CA... and have lived the past 22 years in big cities: LA, NYC and Mumbai, India. Last year, I moved to another sleepy college town, that being Syracuse, NY. I'm a huge fan of African and Latin music (and play drums), as well as being a Classical nut. I've also recently taken to baking muffins and make a delicious risotto! For 10 years I was a working actor, yet since 2004 have made my living as a portrait photographer and last year completed my first photography book titled, "Living the Dream: The Life of the 'Bollywood' Actor" - due out this year. I believe in the magic of everyday life... and hope I die helping make somebody's life better, richer and more expansive. (website hidden)
