About this listing
Cozy, quaint loft/studio apartment located in Carnelian Bay, about five miles north of Tahoe City and west of Kings Beach, or about 20 minutes from Squaw Valley and Alpine, and Northstar. The studio has two futon-style twin beds and a slightly larger bed not quite full size for any combination of 1-4 guests. Perfect for a family. The apartment features a small balcony with a lovely view of the lake to enjoy a glass of wine, or to barbecue. The apartment also has a kitchenette, with sink, microwave, small refrigerator, toaster, and full kitchenware. Bathroom and shower also include lovely tree filled views.
The apartment has cable TV, but if that's not your thing, it is filled wall to wall with books on every subject, as well as a sturdy desk to pen your deepest thoughts. Perfect retreat for bibliophiles and aspiring novelists.
No lake access at the apartment, but about five houses down there is a homeowner's association pier accessible with a key. There is also a bbq and large beach to enjoy.
If the ten minute drive to Tahoe City or Kings Beach seems overwhelming, Carnelian Bay has a few restaurants, including Gar Woods, where you can eat on their beautiful deck overlooking the lake, and a delightful mini-golf course that the kids won't forget.
Guests will have access to a lakefront lot with pier, beaches, and BBQ (about five houses away). Main house and pier are off-limits.
Interaction with Guests
I am usually living at the main house, and always available by phone.
Please take off your shoes at the entrance, and please no ski boots, skis, bikes, etc. in the apartment. There is room in the entry for those things.
The studio was absolutely perfect! Right on the lake and close to town too. This was my first visit to explore Lake Tahoe and it certainly won't be my last - the accommodations couldn't have been nicer and Greg was super responsive to everything.
Gregory was a perfect host! He responded to all my inquiries quickly and let me in on some great hikes and area info. The apartment is adorable, super cozy and in a great location...Would definitely stay again :) Thanks!!
It truly doesn't get any better than this cozy lakeside chalet. It is the perfect spot for an alpine getaway. It is a studio space, but not cramped at all. Beautiful views of the lake off the back porch, an abundant and eclectic mix of reading material on the shelves, and comfortable bed in a little nook that makes you feel like you're sleeping in a tree-house. The topper was the access to the Cedar Flat Association's private pier, where you can take a dip in the cool water or sunbathe from the dock. My boyfriend and I posted quite a few photos to instagram with the caption "Tahoe cabin FTW!", and it couldn't be more true.
A perfect little chalet just as described, wonderfully furnished inside. Great comms from Greg before and during the stay. Highly recommended!
This was a great space and close to everything. It was my first time at Lake Tahoe and was a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. The space looks exactly like the photos.
My husband and I stayed in Greg's charming studio chalet over what turned out to be a very rainy Memorial Day weekend. We were planning on spending a lot of the time hiking, but instead stayed a lot inside, which was in a way even better! The space is super cosy, absolutely gorgeous and clean. We really enjoyed all of the amenities, the view onto the lake and the little balcony in a rain-free period :-). Greg was extremely helpful and checked in to see if we made it ok and if we needed anything. Can't wait to go back again.
