We had a wonderful experience staying at the Troutlily Farm. The house is beautiful and spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Amazing outdoors space with a fire pit and hot tub. Wonderful views to wake up to each morning! Stowe was a short 20 minute drive and there was a large supermarket conveniently located ~5 minutes away. Lizzie and Javin were incredibly helpful and responsive both before and during our stay.
Would definitely recommend and would consider coming back in the future!
Vacation home-owners, take note... This is how you rent your house!
Seriously though, this was one of the most beautiful homes we've ever rented and the homeowners were thoughtful, accommodating, and creative in the way they not only welcomed us (Fresh local coffee, welcoming treats and a readied hot tub and fireplace!), but also how they communicated throughout. We came up during blizzard Nemo and let's just say getting there was less than easy due to conditions. That was until we received hour-by-hour road updates, local insight to route options and thoughtful alternatives for us if the worst was to happen - worst meaning not able to make it.
Our group of 10 shrunk to 6 due to the weather, but for those of us who were able to make it - it was more than we expected. If you are looking for a true Vermont farmhouse (classic charm and updates included), enough land to feel privacy, yet close to everything in town, and the "little things" meticulously tended to, then this is your home away from home. We can't thank them enough and we look forward to renting again!
All the very best!
I can't even begin to explain how wonderful our trip was. We had 10 people in our group and the house was the perfect size. The location was great for getting to Stowe everyday without having to deal with all of the mountain traffic. The views from the house were incredible, the ponies were friendly and we were easily able to keep ourselves entertained while we weren't skiing. Our host was so incredibly generous and offered all kinds of insider knowledge from restaurant suggestions to directions to the mountain to avoid the most traffic. We had an awesome experience, I definitely hope to go back!
