You will experience the charm of the Old South at The Farmhouse Inn, located in

My home is in an older neighborhood of Memphis, on a residential, mid-city, semi-busy street, with ample parking and is within walking distance of a library, a bus stop, the Greenline biking/walking trail, varied restaurants, and a shopping center. It is about 8 miles from downtown Memphis.
All 4 spaces at the Farmhouse are private, all have wifi access.
The property includes:
THE GRACELAND COTTAGE- a separate building behind the main house, which provides complete privacy and includes a queen bed, full private bath, kitchenette, and wifi connection.
first floor rooms…..
THE WEST MEMPHIS

THE SUN STUDIO
three twin beds, and shared bath.
THE BLUES ROOM
A sunny space on the second floor, the Blues Room has two twins, a deck in the treetops, shared bath.
You will find the accommodations at The Farmhouse will fit just about anyone's needs and budget.
You will feel like you are in the country when you enjoy the back garden, the front porch or the upper deck. When I am able, I love to visit with guests, with coffee in the morning and/or a cocktail in the evening.
My house is located two blocks from a bus stop that goes straight to Downtown Memphis. Also, a library, a shopping center, a post office. and various restaurants are within walking distance
Cooking in the main kitchen is $5/meal.. Laundry is $1 per load.
The best way to find the farmhouse is to get on Summer Ave between Highland St and Graham, and turn north on Isabelle St. At the Sonic.
Go through the Faxon intersection, coming to Tutwiler next. Turn right, my house is the third house on the left.. a two story with prayer flags hanging from the porch. Drive straight towards the back fence to park.
Never block the drive or drive on grass, please.. :)
Other Things to Note
During the Winter months, the Cottage can be difficult to keep warm because it is made of concrete. Many others have stayed comfortably, but if you are cold natured, you may want to consider the Blue Room on the second floor.
Also, please do not flush anything down the toilets that doesn't either come from your body or the toilet paper roll...My house has old plumbing. That's why public restrooms have those signs everywhere.
Dear Farmhouse Hostel Guests:
Help us run The Farmhouse Hostel as smoothly as possible
by pitching in with other guests and, please ….
*Rinse the dishes you use, and put them in the dish drain… I will load the
*Ask other guests, who share the bathroom, if they need to use it before you
*Close the bathroom door when you are in the bathroom, and leave it open
when you finish...
*Rinse the toothpaste out of the sink after brushing your teeth…
*Hang your wet towel on a hook and not on wooden furniture...
*Park only on the concrete, never the grass, and don't block the driveway...
*Place cigarette butts in the garbage…
*Put all your trash in a trashcan…
*Only smoke outside.
*Let me know about friends visiting you at The Farmhouse.
I never thought I'd have to say this, but Hostel guests must be appropriately
dressed in public areas, including going in and out of the bathroom.
Thanks so much for your help.
Patty had the room waiting for us as we had driven all day from Richmond, va. She also selected some great movies to watch for us as we were on our way to get married! Very thoughtful! We got on the road early the next morning and had a great sleep on an amazing mattress! We felt very safe in the neighborhood and with the gates driveway.
Cottage was as described, clean and very basic. Patty was a great hostess and promptly responded to our request for Memphis BBQ suggestions. Unfortunately we never actually met her, maybe next time. Thanks!
We stayed with Patty on both legs to and from our main destination. Each night was a good experience. The cottage was very comfortable, especially the bed! We noticed there were some bugs (ants mainly) but it is understandable given that the cottage is free-standing. Otherwise the cottage was as described and it suited our purposes. Both nights we got great nights of sleep and the location was ideal.

Patty was an excellent host - she is very hospitable and provided everything necessary for my stay. The house is in a good location and the neighborhood felt safe. I would definitely recommend staying in the Graceland suite if you are looking for a launchpad for your stay in Memphis.

About the Host, Patty
I am a welcoming host, but keep in mind....
Be sure this casual environment is your cup of tea. I get plenty of wonderful, laid-back guests who love my home. If you are not laid-back, please look for something more expensive that suits you better...
I am a very liberal, open minded person, but conservatives, namely Republicans, may be put off by the environment in my home. It is my home, so be sure it works for you.. There are lots of options in Memphis to consider.
Also, the Farmhouse does not discriminate against any one except religious fanatics who judge others based on their lifestyle. This is an open and affirming home.
