Interaction with Guests
I sometimes see them at breakfast, but they generally are out all day. I am happy to give them information on tours, shopping, transportation, etc.
My townhouse is located in the historic center, is a few minutes walking distance to art galleries, library, restaurants, theater, the artisan market and the main square. I am surrounded by friendly Mexican kneighbors and banking and shopping is all around me. It is convenient, friendly and safe.
There is a bus stop on the corner of my street.
Respect the house rules of smoking only in the patio and roof terrace, not be noisy and respect my private spaces (studio and bedrooms that are not yours).
We had a 6 day stay in San Miguel de Allende for a very close friend's wedding, and absolutely loved the town. March was the perfect time to be there--gorgeous weather, plants all in bloom, and tons going on in the town that we enjoyed when we weren't busy with wedding festivities. We didn't spend a ton of time hanging out at Casa Rossa as a result, but it met our expectations as a clean, private, beautiful space for us to rest our heads and prepare for the next adventure. The courtyard outside the room is a beautiful way to start the day. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Others have already mentioned that there are two twin mattresses on the bed; however, this did not bother us too much and it was otherwise quite comfortable. The location is really the best thing though. Only a few blocks from the main square, and right across from the huge artisan market. Even so, it was always so quiet and we never had trouble sleeping (though we do always travel with a noise machine).
I spent two nights at Casa Rossa and look forward to going back.
The room is luxurious, the home is beautiful, the location is great -
easy walk to the Jardin. And Margaret is a wonderful host,
couldn't ask for more!
A beautiful, cozy room in a charming and elegant house, in the perfect neighborhood. I felt completely taken care of, and Margaret was a wonderful and generous host. I would definitely come back for another stay.
We enjoyed our one day stay at Casa Rossa at Feb. 2015. The room is beautiful and very quite. The located was perfect for walking to all we want to see. Margret is very nice and helpful, she gave us information about the town, and help us to arrange taxi For the bus station in Sunday morning. We would love to stay again.
Margaret's beautiful townhouse is a true complement to the spectacular surroundings of San Miguel de Allende. The town is my favorite in the world -- along with Florence -- and Margaret, being an art curator and collector, has filled her home with contemporary art, and antiques. The townhouse itself is centered around a plant and sculpture filled courtyard. The bedroom that air bnb guests stay in faces the courtyard and the sounds of tropical birds and the wall fountain add to the pleasure of staying in this lovely room. The ensuite bathroom is a mini contemporary art gallery.
Breakfast is delightful: fresh papaya, coffee or tea, yummy pastry, yogurt.
The neighborhood is perfect for exploring the indoor market on Collegio, the Mercado de Artesanias, two of the best see and be seen cafes in SMA, Juan's and Santa Ana inside the Biblioteca. Margaret's home is also very close to the art gallery complex, Fabrica La Aurora. Ask about the charming "back way" to the complex, past an old chapel, and along the well traveled path next to the river and duck pond.
And then there's Margaret's rooftop terraces and gazebo with the view of churches and sunsets waiting for you to enjoy over drinks in the early evening.
Casa Rossa was an elegant home in the historic centro just a few blocks from the main plaza. filled with original art. It was quiet, with a big bed, private bath with a wonderfully hot shower. It was cold in January, and Marge provided a portable heater which warmed it up. Breakfasts were lovely and healthy, and Marge greeted me on my arrival with good information about the town. As a 22 year resident, she is very knowledgeable! The lovely surprise was a glassed in gazebo on the roof, perfect for reading and relaxing.
We stayed at Margaret's in January for a few nights and enjoyed our stay immensely. The room is beautiful, as is her home, and it was very quiet. We were free to come and go, and the location was perfect for walking to all we wanted to see. We would love to stay again.
