About this listing
NOTE: From Saturday June 20st to Saturday August 22nd, we prioritize two to three weeks rentals starting Saturdays.
Cosy and exclusive cottage in authentic style situated quietly in the lovely nature surrounding Rørvig, one of the best areas on the north coast of Zealand. Totally renovated in 2010, with great care for the original atmosphere in the house, but with all the facilities you like.
The house has two bedrooms both fitted with double beds, there also room for a baby cod in the one room. The bathroom is fully renovated with under-floor heating, shower and washing machine. Cosy living room with a wooden stove for those cozy evenings. If watching the fire is not your thing, we also have a TV with a selections of channels; National, Sport, and BBC World News. The dining area is located in open connection to the small but functional and completely new space kitchen with fridge/freezer, dish washer, cooker/oven and microwave oven.
From the kitchen you enter a lovely furnished kitchen patio, with an out-door hot water shower. Facing west is another large furnished patio, with a new outdoor kitchen and Weber-grill. From the patio you can enjoy a newly planted garden encircled with old trees.
The house is within walking distance (1400 m) of the idyllic Rørvig village, with restaurants, shopping and the harbor with the ferry to Hundested and not least the kids fishing for shellfish from the jetties. Walking the other way from the house, the beach is also within walking distance through the forest. The beach is absolutely fantastic, with clear and shallow water, perfect for children. In addition, there are lifeguards on duty every day during during the public school holiday (July-August).
The summer house comfortably accommodates two couples or a family with two kids. The outdoor areas makes the house seem much larger that the square meters suggest.
Rørvig is easily accessible by train(from CPH one change and a lovely ferry crossing from Hundested) or bus, but the fastest way to get here from e.g. Copenhagen is by car which also lets you explore the many sights in Northern Zealand.
The entire house is for you personal use. There's a key box at the house and you'll receive the code, in advance.
Interaction with Guests
As this is our Beach House, we as hosts are not living in the area, and interaction will be via phone or e-mail. Should any serious problems arise there a well established network of contractors, who will be able to assist within few hours.
The area is nice and quiet, only local trafic for residents, some horse riders to and from the beach and deer in the morning.
You can get to the house from Copenhagen Airport in around 2 hours.
Other Things to Note
Odsherred, the North Western tip of Sealand is a hitten gem of Denmark, lovely small roads, in the hilly farm land, full of local products sold at the road side. Famous for it's potatoes and carrots.
This is our family summer house - so we hope and expect that you will enjoy it and treat it with the same care and respect you would show your own house. Other than that, we just want you to feel at home. Please before you leave the house put your bedding and used tea towels in the washer, while you clean the house. And hang the bedding on the drying rack before you leave - thanks in advance.
We had six great days in the cottage in Rørvig, which is one of my favorite summer lokations in Denmark.
The beach is within Walking distance and the walk through is a beautiful nature experience in itself. The beach is also one of the best in Denmark for bathing and has a lifeguard during the summer months.
The cottage is a small typical Danish style summer house and Marianne has made sure, that you have everything you need. Everything is kept in a 'homey" good quality, clean condition and easy to use. The outdoor shower was a lovely feature, as well as the bicycles that was free for us to use. We felt that Marianne really cares about giving all her visitors a great experience and all communication was easy, without problems of any kind.
If two small double beds suit you fine and an authentic Danish summer experience is what you are looking for, I recommend Marianne's cottage in Rørvig. We would surely love to go there again.
We had two lovely weeks in this wonderful summerhouse. It has everything we needed and then some. The outside shower was great to use even when the sun wasn't as friendly as it could have been and the cozy stove inside made our mornings warm when the weather was not for outdoor activity. We enjoyed sitting outside in the patio and played football on the big lawn. Rørvig has the best beach in Denmark and getting there from the house was fast and also a beautiful path through the plantage. We felt very much at home here and hope to return soon.
Cosy Cottage is delightful - comfortable, clean, snug and very well equipped - and in a lovely spot, a short walk from the beach. We spent a memorable few days there. And the outdoor shower is to die for - I have missed it a lot!
Thank you, Marianne.
This is a very nice cottage that has everything you need for a active or lazy weekend off. It is near to Rørvig, Nykøbing and a lovley beach. We were here for 5 days and would very much like to come back another time.
We had some absolutely fantastic days in "Skipper Hytten" which is a traditional and very cosy cottage featuring modern kitchen and bathing facilities. Just as a cottage should be. The cottage excelled in having an out door hot shower, and an out door kitchen which has the comfort of sun all day. We also enjoyed the in door fireplace during the evenings. The cottage is lacking absolutely nothing. Close to the beautiful sandy beach and Rørvig Harbour were we bought fresh fish at the fishmonger.
This place comes with our highest recommendations.

About the Host, Marianne
We love to spend weekends and short holidays in one of our holiday homes. The last couple of year we have also a shared yacht, so we enjoy to share our homes with our Airbnb-friends.
Family is very important and we have all our kids living nearby. Fittness, bikecykling and winter swimming is what I'm passinate about.
