About This Listing
St Kilda is the centre of the centre of the worlds most liveable city. The apartment is in the middle of the, cake, coffee, dining, beach, shopping, cycling, fun spots. Public transport is right outside your door and takes you all over Melbourne.
Our apartment is in an ideal location overlooking leafy Fitzroy St St Kilda. It is a short tram ride from the city and just a walk to the beach, Luna Park, Albert Park, Ackland St and the fantastic life of Melbourne. There are four fantastic restaurants down stairs and lots more over the road. The iconic Prince of Wales Hotel is over the road along with De Stasio and Mirkas is 100 m away.
This one bedroom air-conditioned apartment is on the first floor and there is a lift. It has one light and bright bedroom with built in robe. The adjacent bathroom has shower, basin, toilet and washing machine and drier.
The living room has a full kitchen with Smeg appliances, microwave and dishwasher. It has all the pots, pans, cutlery, glassware and china one needs.
It easily sleeps 2 and the couch opens up to make a double bed for the kids or two more. We provide free Wi-fi. A flat screen TV is mounted on the living room wall and a docking station is available to plug your ipod into. We can supply a cot and fold up camp bed for extra kids or babies at no charge. We can also supply a heater if you find the aircon isn't warm enough.
The adjacent nightlife can be noisy but through the day it is delightfully sunny, fairly quiet (the trams run past the front door) and comfortable. A Copenhagen style bike path runs by the front door, along Fitzroy St.
A huge balcony provides views over the tree lined street and St Kilda life and trams, and is a delightful spot to lounge and enjoy the passing parade.
This apartment is ideal for making the most of Melbourne. There is no parking within the complex but we never need it in Melbourne as the public transport is excellent and the airport shuttle or combination of the Skybus and number 96 tram deliver one to the front door from the airport.
Free street parking is available all day within 500 m of the apartment.
There are many extras like fishing gear, beach towels, beach tent, craft equipment, kids toys and books, picnic basket and rug, champagne glasses, diswasher and laundry detergents, cleaning products,..... indeed everything one would find in a home.
This apartment is not a hotel, we use it often and the pantry has lots of day to day pantry items, which you are welcome to use. They include extra virgin olive oil, spices, pasta, rice, tinned essentials, tea, coffee, cereal, flour, sugar, dry biscuits, etc. Let me know if there are any other pantry items you'd like and, within reason, I wont charge for them.
The beach and Catani Gardens are just two blocks away. An Adventure Playgroud is just 500 m away. The fairy penguins and Luna Park are just 500 m away. I could go on but this really is a perfect little gem of an apartment and ideal for making the most of St Kilda and Melbourne.
The apartment is fully self contained and has security access.
Interaction with Guests
I'm on the end of the phone and email but you probably wont see me. I reply promptly and deal with every need efficiently.
This place is simply amazing! It's bright, private and yet in the middle of everything Melbourne has to offer.
Trams are right outside the door. Tram number 96 is Melbourne's most used line and you can watch it from the balcony. The airport shuttle stops at the front door.
Other Things to Note
We take great pride in providing a clean comfortable private home for our guests. We've had many reviews and they've all been 5 star. Read them. You'll love this place.
***Please leave the apartment as you find it***
Don't lock yourselves out.
Do not put anything except human waste and a little toilet paper in the toilet as the pump may block with disasterous resullts for you and us!
Stavroula's City Pad is cute, warming location that has evreything you need for your break in Melbourne.
It's right in the heart of St Kilda. A 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes to the cafe strip on Acland Street and a few steps from the trams to and from the city.
There is plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars within easy walk. We really enjoyed the walk down the foreshore and got to see some penguins!! :)
We have been to Melbourne many times and always end up in St Kilda. The next time that we are in Melbourne, we will definitely be staying here.
Very enjoyable :
Lovely unit with everything we needed. Close to shops and restaurants and tram right outside the door. We stayed 3 nights over a weekend. Was a little noisy the 1st night but that's probably just us getting used to city life. Our daughter also stayed on sofa bed in living room and was very comfortable. Staying in Stavroula's unit was so much nicer that being in a hotel, and we would definitely stay again. Thank you
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply Quinta, I've been traveling. Thank you for your lovely comments on our little pad. The noise is both fun and too much at the same time. We're working on double glazing but boy it's hard with body corporate issues. Do come back you will be very welcome. Kindest regards, Stavroula
Really nice place to stay and a good location, just 5 mins from a great beach. The apartment has everything you could possibly need and more. As described by Stavroula, which is always good when descriptions are accurate. Would certainly stay there again should we ever return to St Kilda/Melbourne.
This was my first Airbnb trip and Stavroula made it very simple and always replied very quickly to all my enquiries. The apartment was fantastic - everything we needed for a comfortable stay for 2 adults and a 2 year old child including extra toys and books when the little one wanted a change from watching all the excitement from the balcony. It is noisy overnight if you're not used to it but worth it to be right in the heart of St Kilda. We felt very welcome, just like staying at a friend's place. I'd definitely recommend it and hope to get a chance to stay again one day.
Lovely apartment with lots of amenities and really detailed instructions. Stracvoula was very helpful and welcoming and left us lots of tips on how go get around Melbourne. We stayed with 4 people and the apartment was nice and spacious with all the right facilities.
We loved this place - it was positioned perfectly, nicely styled and had everything we needed. It was a pleasure to deal with Stavroula, she made the process very easy and enjoyable.
About the Host, Stavroula
Jo and I are a professional couple and have two sons and five grandchildren. We've lived in Melbourne all our lives (almost, I migrated from Greece at 5 years of age) until a few years ago when we moved to Tasmania for work. We use the appartment as our Melbourne "city pad" when we return to visit the grandchildren, and we both love this most liveable of cities.
