This is a private unit (not shared). There is fenced front yard area with table and chairs that is for your use. Additionally, there is a shared, coin operated laundry in the back yard.
Interaction with Guests
I'm pretty "hands-off" but available by text, email or phone. I try to leave things set up and provide all info needed via email or in the FAQ binder you will find in unit.
We will email the rental agreement upon confirmed reservation.
Absolutely No smoking, No Pets, No parties.
Checkin after 2pm, checkout by 11am.
La Casa was great! There was lots of good stuff walkable. The place was clean and spacious. Kathryn checked in halfway through the stay to make sure we had everything we needed, which was appreciated.
My family loved our weekend at Casa by the Sea! Beautiful and simple cottage with plenty of space for the 5 of us. "Checked in" to a chocolate bar and a bottle of wine-- nice personal touch. Loved the remote control candles in the large bedroom. Great water pressure in the shower. Perfect family room with two cozy sofas and TV. Kitchen has a blender-- perfect for margaritas! Location is super convenient to endless restaurants and bars and the beach! Venice is just down the road and a perfect walk to explore as well. Very easy stay.
Although we never met Kathryn she answered all our emails right away. Instructions were detailed and easy to follow. We had no problem finding parking close to the unit, even though there were many cars parked in the area. There were always a few even during the busiest times.
The kitchen is updated and fully equipped (pots/pans, dishes) The wood floors need work n are very sqeaky. Also the windows are single pane and walls very thin so it can be noisy. It is walking distance to the beach, but it's 9 long blks. If you're carrying lots of "stuff" (board, beach gear) it is definitely a hike, but very short ride by car.
Santa Monica is fairly small so you can get to anything fairly quickly if you have transportation.
The neighborhood is fine. A physician we visit described it as "one of the last areas of SM that hasn't been gentrified yet".

La Casa was great - a nice, comfortable house with a spacious living room that was perfect for our group of 5. Kathryn was very attentive to our needs and available to answer questions and even spared us from a possible lock-out late at night! Thank you Kathryn!
It's really good place to stay group of friends. 10 minutes walks to the beach, private garden with a garden furniture, a parking permit for our car, well equipped kitchen and etc. I think it's a very good deal for staying in Santa Monica.

I've lived in Santa Monica since the mid 1990's. I've always enjoyed the perfect weather, walking around the Promenade, and exploring great restaurants.
