Megan's home is lovely. It was warm and cozy and Megan couldn't have been more welcoming. My bedroom was roomy and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in since I left home! Megan was most generous sharing her house and made me feel right at home. I would definitely return there when I'm back in the area.
Our four day stay at Megan's was wonderful. She could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We arrived by motorcycle, and Megan made room in her driveway for us. The house is lovely and comfortable; our room on the second floor was like a tree house room with shuttered windows that look over the garden to Salem and the mountains beyond. It is very private and quiet, a small room with a nice dresser. The queen bed was most comfortable and the room had air conditioning, but we didn't need it during our stay. The garden is a treasure and great place to relax. The neighborhood is a charming area to walk and explore. You get a real sense of living in a community. There's a restaurant and coffee shop a couple blocks away. Megan provided delicious breakfasts with all fresh, local foods, and there was a well stocked refrigerator in our room for drinks and snacks. She knows Salem well and was helpful in directing us to local events. And she even shared her exercise class with us. I had some hesitation about sharing the shower, but it was no problem at all. We had a very nice private bathroom with sink and toilet upstairs, and scheduling around the shower downstairs was easy. Megan also let us use her new washer and dryer which was very helpful. And, if you are a dog lover, you are in for a treat--Megan has one of the sweetest, well behaved dogs I've ever met. Staying at Megan's certainly enhanced our visit to Salem.
Robin and Wayne were great guests! We all have been English teachers and Robin shared her book group's reading list. I enjoyed hearing their stories of traveling around the world on motorcycles and their schedule was easy to accommodate. We had fun in a session with my private trainer--and Robin says it has jump started her fitness program again. They are welcome back anytime!
