We live with two cats, Seamus and Muddy. We are a couple in the arts (music, painting, literature). This is a wonderful winter getaway or sanctuary, if you are here to work. Everyone who stays here calls it an oasis. We are well traveled - all fifty states, and many parts of Canada, Europe and Latin America. We welcome people from all corners of the planet into our home and also respect privacy. Strong brewed coffee and well-steeped tea always available.
Honest, respectful reasonable people who are fine with not smoking in the house are welcome. Clean up after yourself as you would visiting a friend. Don't let our cats out.
Thank you so much Heather and Roberto, for your wonderful hospitality. I felt like I found some kindred spirits, and your home and your neighbourhood were just delightful. It's nice to have found some new friends!
Heather & Roberto did everything to make my stay in Echo Park an incredible experience. The room was clean, spacious, full of sunlight, and the bed was really comfy. The ensuite bathroom was private, and equipped with everything you'd need. They were extremely hospitable and open to sharing their kitchen with me. I loved their cats too!
In particular, I loved Echo Park and would recommend the location to anyone visiting LA. There's no better place to enjoy it than Heather and Robertos home. My only complaint was that I couldn't stay longer.
Heather and Roberto were great; they made me feel right at home. Cool, nice people. They took me in a very short notice, and even though I arrived late-ish, they were very gracious and caring. The room, bathroom and bed were amazing, I slept like a baby. Would definitely recommend their house, and would return again.
Heather and Roberto were great! First of all they took a chance on me, never having done airbnb before and not having been reviewed, and did so quickly when i was in a time of need. Just for that I'm eternally grateful.
The house itself was great. Tucked away in the quiet hills of Echo Park they really made it feel like a home for me. Having a big room with a comfy bed, a large desk and my own bathroom (with a claw foot tub nonetheless!) after having been on the road for weeks was a luxury beyond deluxe. The house was small and cute, something about a living room without a tv makes me immensely happy. The backyard is nice and private and perfect in the morning.
Heather and Roberto were also gracious guests. They respected my privacy but were more than welcoming when i wanted to chat over coffee or a cup of wine. They were super helpful and provided a cute little info packet with bus routes and restaurant flyers and a social justice history themed tour book of Los Angeles. Hell they even left out a couple of books for me to read while I was staying with them based on what little they knew about me from our correspondence. just goes to show how thoughtful they are.
I would have stayed there indefinitely if they'd allow it!
I didn't meet Roberto but Heather was a lovely host who made me feel comfortable and welcome. The room was great with a very comfy bed and practically private bathroom. The area was great and I enjoyed wandering around on foot but it was also close to a bus that takes you to sunset boulevard.
A fabulous home with great hosts! Spending five days with Heather and Roberto and Seamus and Muddy in Echo Park was a great experience. A great room with a superb comfortable bed, lots of space, cool nighttime breezes and excellent bathroom. Talking over breakfast in the back yard was really fun. I loved the quiet hilly streets full of neat houses and gardens and being half a block from Elysian Park. Convenient for lots of great neighbourhoods and a very relaxing space. Really excellent.
My stay at Heather and Roberto's was great! They were super quick with communication and able to accommodate my last minute reservation. Their adorable and artsy home is located in the peaceful and scenic hills of Echo Park, just up the way from all the action on the Strip. The suite and private bathroom were impeccably cleaned and I especially loved all the shabby chic details like the clawfoot tub! The bed was so comfortable, it was literally a dream to sleep on every night and the room had everything any traveler could need. Heather and Roberto are excellent hosts–interesting, well traveled, and artists themselves and we shared some great conversation in passing. This is one of the best value listings in LA on the site–do not hesitate, book it now!!!

We are Roberto, a 42 year old painter and musician working in the decorative trades. And Heather (47) a playwright and novelist. We are easy-going and like to keep busy but enjoy meeting people. We like to provide a calm, open sanctuary. We've traveled in Ireland, Europe and across the US and Canada and parts of Latin America. We like absorbing other cultures and people of all ages and backgrounds. We are always happy to meet new people and share our home and favorite LA tips but we also respect privacy. In a nutshell, we are your average, garden-variety bohemian types.
