About this listing
This breezy room has tons of sunlight, along with two hammocks and a simple bed setup. Here, you'll enjoy being close to the tourist center of Salvador, while coming back to a calm, cultural and historic neighborhood. Take a look!
On the left you'll see the hallway leading to the dining area, kitchen, and 1st floor patio.
Welcome! This is our sunroom, the more informal of three spaces available for rent in the house. There are two hammocks and two mattresses. The house has a huge roof deck available for everyone to enjoy, as well as two other outdoor areas!
**Note: Please message me before requesting a reservation so I can answer all your questions!**
Our house is three floors. On the first floor is a suite, the second has two bedrooms, and the third is the covered roof deck, which is well ventilated and has a small view to the city. Let's start there: from the terrace you'll enjoy a view of the city, and can use the grill or anything else you'd like. We also have an extra stove up here for making tea, etc. You can also hang, have dinner, stretch, exercise, knock yourself out! Please note that the access to the terrace is through our bedroom, which we keep open almost all day to ensure guests can access the roof.
The kitchen is small, but decked out with all the pots, pans and utensils you'll need. Fridge space and shelf space, too. We have a shelf of basic items to help guests as well, like beans, lentils, oils, etc. If you're not into cooking, you'll still love the big kitchen table in the dining area.
There are two living room spaces: one downstairs at the entrance of the house and one upstairs that sometimes serves as a room. They are both fairly breezy and have comfortable seating and hammocks.
The outdoor spaces are also really special. One small patio area opens out from the first floor, and is home to the washing machine, two bathrooms and a little garden. Storage space is also available there, should you need it. Then upstairs is the covered roof deck - the best space for hanging clothes, enjoying the view, all that.
Welcome! Our most important rule is mainly to respect the space and enjoy it. We keep a clean house, and especially a clean kitchen. We also ask not to bring anyone to the house who is not reserved through Airbnb.
Other than that - feel welcome and have fun!
My boyfriend and I spent 5 lovely weeks in the home of Julia and Fuca. The first week of our stay, Julia and Fuca were away on holiday, but a friend of theirs took care of the house, and he took very good care of us too. Julia and Fuca are super nice, so welcoming, and very helpful. Staying in their house made our time in Salvador a very pleasant experience. They really make you feel at home, and there's a relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed a lot to hang out on the roof top terrace. Also Duda (the dog) was nice company. The location of the house is perfect if you want to be close to the historic center (Pelourinho) and still stay in a peaceful neighbourhood. There is a supermarket just around the corner - convenient if you want to cook yourself. We warmly recommend a stay at Julia and Fuca's house.
Julia wasn't there, but fuca (nickname), her husband, have been a wonderful host. The house is located in a perfect spot, very close (by walk) to the heart of the Centro and very friendly... from there, is easy to achieve most interesting spots of the city. The house is cool and, if you can manage for few days to have less intimacy in your room (the other room is communicating with this trough a high window always open), you'll have a wonderful experience. We'd love it and next time to Salvador we'll sure stay at julia and fuca's house!
Julia & Fuka's home is lovely. Exactly what we expected. As a couple of brits heading to Salvador it was a little bit daunting at first but Julia and Fuka were kind, friendly and super helpful throughout our stay, and even helped to arrange transport to and from the airport. Also the fact Julia (being American) speaks great English is a massive plus in Salvador as hardly any locals / even police speak it. We had a fantastic time in Salvador and the home and hosts could not have been better. Thank you very much guys!
Great place, and really nice people! Julia and Fuca are very nice people - accommodating, hospitable and, very friendly!
Would certainly stay there again if I find myself in Salvador!

About the Host, Julia & Fuca
Hello and welcome! I am a New Yorker, living in Salvador for the past few years now. I coordinate a bilingual language program in an elementary school on the other side of town, and have a small translation company. Fuca, my husband, is from here and works in education as well.
We love coming back to our neighborhood after work to relax, enjoy the view, cook at home and have a beer at some of the awesome bars and restaurants around. We are a low-key couple, but love getting to know our guests and getting people together in our home.
We really enjoy sharing all the places and lesser-known points of this city with our guests as well. Just let us know what you are interested in an we will try to connect you with it!
