About this listing
Navona Loft is a centrally located, exclusively guest house in Rome.
Rome is one of the top rated worldwide destinations, a mix of historical and modern style, art and entertaining.
Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning for more, you'll find a warm welcome from one of the most attractive town in Europe.
A bursting city where time has stopped. If you long for unhurried holidays and escaping to a relaxed and comfortable place in the very heart of Rome, then we look forward to welcoming you at Navona Loft.
Navona Loft is central, walking distance from the city treasures (remember, we have the biggest historical centre in the world), just few steps from piazza Navona.
The building (dated 1650) is set on via del Governo Vecchio, that was the connection between the Vatican and the pope residence, the Quirinal. You will appreciate Roman daily life just wandering in the neighborhood, or sitting in an outdoor café. The breakfast consists in croissant and cappuccino offered from (email hidden) "Emporio della Pace" a very nice bar-library a few steps trom the Loft.
Navona Loft was originally a print work, till the 70's an art gallery and studio of the artist living here, now is a charming B&B. We kept the artistic atmosphere: it's not a common apartment, just a unique place. It is at the ground floor, bright, quiet and cool... Since it is located close to the Parliament it is a very safe nightbourhood, even late at night.
Staying at Navona Loft we have 2 suites: The Red Suite and the Sandy Suite, but for just one client. It means I'll rent the whole place to one client per time at 190 euro per night.
Both of them have a living and a private bathroom at the ground floor, the bedroom upstairs on a wood mezzanine.
Between the two there is a very well furnished kitchen with washing machine and tumble-dryer. One of them, the red has a big skylight and has more space, while the other, the sandy one, it's a bit more cosy and has normal windows.
Both of them have A.C., but it's not really necessary with thick walls. The confortable livings are provideded with TV, WI-FI connection and stereo system. In the Sandy room there is also a safe for the guests.
Upon arrival we'll give you a map of the town and we will make sure you know where everything is.
If you have any questions about Rome, restaurant, nightlife or tourist activity we will be more than happy to help.
Marco was very friendly and attentive throughout our stay and although we didn't get to meet him (he was away on holiday), he responded to all of our queries very quickly.
The apartment is situated on a fantastic little street. A beautiful cobbled area with lots of restaurants and shops including a gelateria and a Carrefour. You are only a few minutes walk away from Piazza Navona. The Pantheon and the Colosseum and Forum, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountains are all within easy walking distance too.
The apartment itself was quirky, cosy and really comfortable and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was surprisingly quiet at night too as situated towards the back of the building so we were not disturbed by the general nightlife and all had a good nights sleep.
We were all given vouchers for a free coffee or iced tea plus a pastry or 'cornetto' that we could redeem at a little coffee shop just around the corner. A perfect start to each day and an unexpected surprise.
The Piazza Navona is an interesting place to sit and watch the world go by and to take a respite from the heat. Lots of street entertainers and live music. There are pizzerias lining the square but they are very pricey due to the location so you would be better off exploring the back streets for an alternative (and very good) places to eat instead. Definitely take in the atmosphere in Piazzo Navona over a glass of wine however!
Thank you Marco for letting us stay at your wonderful apartment (and to Lorenzo for being on hand throughout our stay). Rome was everything we hoped it would be (and more!) and we are already planning our return trip.
we had the most relaxing and hospitable stay in Rome. leading up to our stay Marco had been in touch and helped to organise transfers from the airport as well as give us some background on the area. The apartment is very comfortable and an ideal location - just around the corner from The Piazza Navona and within walking distance of all the main attractions. I would definitely recommend this apartment and we home to revisit ourselves at some point!
This was the first time we have used Airbnb and what a great experience! We were met at the apartment even though our flight was very late with open arms. The apartment is just as described and in a perfect location. Great restaurants and amazing gelato are steps away from the apartment. Marco gave us great restaurant ideas and not having to make breakfast each morning was a huge plus. Definitely would rent here again if our travels take us back to Rome!
Great apartment, our family of 5 (2 children , one teenager and 2 adults) fit perfectly. Great location, easy in and out. Photos make believe the apartment is bigger and airier, but still the apt is very good. Bathrooms are smaller than we thought but still worked well. Location is very convenient, close to major sights, and a taxi cab post very close. Don't bring a car, parking is impossible, host can coordinate airport transfers, just plan in advance. Host is very responsive. Kitchen is well suited for light preparations, a Carrefour market is a block away, great to have breakfast stuff for the kids. Restaurants meters away are very convenient and good. Apartment is a first floor/ kind of a basement, and has very small open air windows. But high ceilings and great functioning air conditioning system compensate for this. Apartment has travel guides and good bookshelves which make the apartment very cozy. We enjoyed our three night visit and the kids have great memories of Rome.
Marco and Ana Maria were very welcoming hosts when our family arrived at Navona Loft. Marco arranged for two separate drivers (because we flew in at different times), and he and Ana Maria gave us a warm and thorough briefing on neighborhood attractions and on the apartment. They are lovely people.
I've had some great AirBnB experiences, but this was was the absolute best yet! Marco was an absolute joy to work with. He made sure that we knew how to get to the apartment; he met us there and walked us through it; and he was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. I can't imagine a better host.
The apartment is in the PERFECT location within Rome, just steps from Piazza Navona (an awesome Piazza with wonderful performers, artists, characters); there are countless restaurants with excellent cuisine in the neighborhood; there is a phenomenal gelato place on the corner; there is a wonderful cafe for breakfast (for which Marco gave us vouchers!).
The apartment itself is a gem. There is a sense of history and of location within the living rooms. Bookshelves full of books, wonderful artwork, trinkets and doo-dads. It really has great character and made us feel completely at home. It was wonderful to be able to return during the heat of the mid-afternoon and just plop down on the cozy couches and relax with a good book. Marco has a great eye and, in fact, my wife and I left with some new decorating ideas!
The place is as it is depicted in the photos. It was wonderfully spacious for our family of four. Coming from a rental where were all in one room to this apartment where we had two separate bedrooms in two different areas was excellent. The kids could go to be early (or chat between themselves) and we could stay up later. It really was such a comfortable stay.
I so hope that we can make another trip back to Rome. It was the highlight of our summer vacation, due in no small part, I'm sure, to the stay in Marco's flat. He was such a gracious host -- he even came down off the roof of a nearby building where he was working just so he could say goodbye when we were leaving. If you are going to Rome, I can imagine finding a better place to stay or a better host to host you!
We had an excellent visit and stay at Marco's appartment - great location in the heart of the city - easy to get to all the main sites. Marco was also a great host.
About the Host, Marco
I'm 40 years old, self employed architect. I like to travel (not as a tourist, but as a traveler!) and to read mainly non fiction... I can't wait to ride my bike to follow the construction and renovation works.
I'm happy to have guests that like to know about the Ethernal City and I'll be glad to give some special information about it!
