amazing spot- incredible setting with boulder-filled stream and quiet surroundings, BUT it comes with a price. reasonable actual price, real and down-to-earth host with amazing musical talent (he's a drummer in a local band that you can see play while you are there)- while camping you will have no other campers within miles- that's a real plus. here is the BUT- you had better be fit and not old, or kinda-old to use this site. the hike down is a true 6 minutes and 300 steps (paces) from a six foot tall male. that is the easy part. it is double that on the way up due to the climb- and remember to have a headlamp flashlight for after dark. we had a double-wheel wheelbarrow that was the best thing we could have ever packed- Ryan has a single wheel one to loan but with that kike on the way up, it is a real challenge. so pack super-light, and if you don't have a super-attentive driver amongst you, don't book it. The mountain road to his treacherous and long dirt driveway (I imagine nearly impassable with heavy rain) is even worse than the driveay itself. Do NOT arrive here for the first time at night- huge mistake. other than that, I can say that it's an awesome space at a great price and if you are young and able-bodied, you are set for a great time here.Do Ryan a favor and don't leave your trash behind- bring up anything you can every time up the hill.

Ryan’s place was great. The camping area was perfect. He had a fire pit and benches set up and the area was cleared for a tent near the creek. Do pack lightly because the trail to the campsite is pretty brutal but well worth it.

We loved camping by the creek on Ryan's property! The space is beautiful, secluded, and well maintained. Our dog Maverick absolutely loved running around and swimming in the creek. It was so much better than staying at a crowded campground. It is a bit of a steep hike down to the campsite which we could appreciate, but you should try and pack light because the hike back up to the car carrying all your belongings isn't easy. We enjoyed the workout but it was tough. Also I would recommend bringing a car that has 4 wheel drive because the road to Ryan's house is pretty bumpy and unpaved. The space is wonderful though, and we plan on coming back again!

Unfortunately, Ryan's place got double booked and he had to cancel our reservation when we were halfway there. He did send me a refund promptly and was apologetic. Better luck next time I guess!

We set up a 2 person tent in the same spot as pictured and it was perfect. The sites and sounds around the campsite made for a great weekend away from everyone and with nature! The hike to/from parking is short but steep so take only essentials. No phone service (att or tmobile) beginning 5-10 miles away but Ryan provides detailed directions which I took a screen shot of beforehand. I'm so happy to have stayed here and would love to make the trip again.
