A stay in the historic mountain farmhouse from around 1530 is not only a vacation and recreational trip, but also a "journey back in time" to the late Middle Ages!

The space
The historic mountain farmhouse, built around 1530, which is about 40 years after Christopher Columbus discovered America, is preserved in its substance with soot-blacked block walls and ceilings original, but equipped with the amenities of the 21st century.
The safe, local location of the 500 year old hist. Farmhouse on the southern slope above St.Veit (healing climate) keeps it from flooding, walls, rockfall and in winter from avalanches during her stay in the farmhouse.

~ 200 m2 of living space, large south-facing sun terrace with ~40 m2 barbecue area and upstairs balcony is their only PRIVATE LIVING AREA for the time of their stay!

The southern part of the hist.Bauernhaus "Hochrainberg" was built around about 1530, the northern part of the house with vaulted cellar, horse stable (current wooden warehouse) and cereal box was built ~150 years later (1686).
"Hochrainberg" is located at 1100m above St.Veit in the Pongau (healing climate) with magnificent views from the sun terrace/balcony over the Salzachtal to St. Johann-Alpendorf (entrance to the Salzburger Sportwelt Amadé), direction Grossarltal, the towns of St. Veit im Pongau (healing climate) and Schwarzach im Pongau (train station, focal hospital) to the west towards Gasteinertal (Thermenregion), Hohe Tauern, Grossglockner, Wiesbachhorn, Kitzsteinhorn...

The farmhouse was in 1982 "film backdrop" for an Advent story of Karl Heinrich Waggerl, a well-known local writer and folk poet.
The DVD "This is the quietest time of the year" is open in the farmhouse.

Free internet access (Wi-Fi, WiFi) for smartphone, tablet PC or laptop - works in the farmhouse parlor, in the four-poster room, on the sun terrace and on the balcony.

PRICE INFORMATION:
There are no additional fees or charges on top of the booking price.
Prices are seasonal, weekly prices are cheaper than daily prices.
The base price always applies to up to 8 people/beds; for additional guests, the surcharge is €25 per person per night, including the overnight stay tax and linen package (bed linens, hand towel, bath towel).
For reduced occupancy, each individual has a larger private area (double rooms can be used as single rooms, etc.), so the value for money is always given at about 200 m² of living space + sun terrace.
A crib is available free of charge for 1 baby, otherwise children/young people occupying a bed are counted as 1 person. The overnight stay and mobility tax for guests aged 15 and over is ~€3.50/night and is included in the price.

GROUND FLOOR:
Bauernstube: the Russian blacked smoking room from the years around 1530 with Herrgottswinkel conveys an incomparable atmosphere, the tiled stove with stove top brings "crackling" and cozy warmth into the parlor. In the closet "hidden" is the A1 (Internet)TV and Bose music system with radio, CD and DVD player.

3 twin rooms with double beds, 1 triple room (double bed, single bed and pull-out sleeping chair, as well as 1 crib for a toddler. In 2 rooms, the beds are without footboard - comfortable for tall guests.
Access to the south and east side balcony via the Söller (upstairs hallway).

Important note regarding pets for a given reason:
A maximum of 1 well-behaved dog that obeys the owner's commands is permitted, as the historic farmhouse is located on the same property as the farm, along with other animals. Please specify at booking (extra charge €40).
The upstairs bedrooms are taboo for pets for hygienic reasons (dog hair is very difficult from the historic, rough wooden floors and can be removed with a lot of effort). On the ground floor in the hallway area or in the parlor there is space for this, please take your usual dog blanket or nest with you. If they bring a dog that can only sleep in the room with master/wife, then on request the private double room in the entrance area could be provided (is not included in the Airbnb offer and therefore pay separately). The dog keeping regulations of the market municipality of St.Veit must be observed.

Ramps are mounted for the accessible accesses (house entrance, access from the house to the south-sided sun terrace, compensation of the door thresholds to the farmer's parlor, kitchen and bathroom/WC). This is only possible in the warm season (summer) as the doors to the farmhouse parlor and kitchen cannot be closed due to the ramps, and the bedroom (double) - on the ground floor of the adjoining apartment - is outdoors, but covered house entrance area.
Advance notice 2 weeks, extra charge €450 (for the duration of the stay, installation+dismantling of the ramps)

CAR/WINTER/SNOW: Be sure to bring snow chains for safety reasons!
The house is not available over Christmas.

Guest access
For the duration of your stay, the historic mountain farmhouse is your sole PRIVATE LIVING AREA! The meadow west of the house (belonging to the farm) can be used in summer for children/adults to play football. In winter, there is a curling rink for the locals. If you contact the curlers to join in, they will be happy to invite you.
The neighboring farm and animals can be visited after consultation with the farmer under their supervision. Eggs can also be purchased. The farm dog "Bella" - she is used to children, has attended dog school and follows commands - and the cats quickly make friends with the guests/children.

HOUSE RULES and INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIVING IN THE HISTORIC FARMHOUSE
General:
Attention is drawn to the historical passage heights (doors, stairs to the upper floor). Please pay attention to this and duck your head in time to avoid injury.
Open fire/fire hazard:
Bringing charcoal grills, fireworks, rockets or other open fires is strictly forbidden inside and outside the house!
Exception: candle at the table in the sitting room.

Handle candles, cigarettes, wood-burning stoves, gas grills, etc. very carefully.
Although there are 3 fire extinguishers (in the hallway on the ground floor, at the entrance to the wood storage and in the hallway on the upper floor), we hope that there is no reason for use and that the house will remain for another 500 years.
The stoves in the bedrooms must not be heated, please adhere to this!

Wood-burning stove in the sitting room:
Heat only with wood, do not put too much wood at once in the combustion chamber - because of the risk of overheating - just add wood more often, and reduce the oxygen supply by closing the "ash door" (lower door).
Firewood can be found in the wood storage.
The pipe in the wood-burning stove is not suitable for baking (therefore the small multifunctional stove in the kitchen). However, it is ideally suited for "crisping" rolls/pastries.
The doors to the smoking room and kitchen are equipped with old locks with locking from the inside. From the inside, the lock can be released easily - push the latch back. It cannot be opened from the outside.

In the smoking room, do not use the old dishes in the glass cabinet and in the barrel basket (on the side of the stove), it is not dishwasher-safe.

The vaulted cellar (Speis) partly replaces the refrigerator because of its low temperature, fruits and vegetables also remain fresh and crisp for longer because of the humidity. Therefore, always keep the door closed (in the summer months it gets too warm).
In the hallway there is a small beverage refrigerator (for hot summer days ...).

HEATING /HOT WATER:
The bathrooms, living rooms and bedrooms are heated by oil heating, and at the same time the hot water is prepared.
The hallways on the ground floor and upper floor are unheated. In the cold season, be sure to keep the doors to the heated/tempered rooms closed, and close open windows and doors before leaving the house.
VENTILATION: best only "impact ventilation", that is, keep windows open for about 5-10 minutes and then close again, but this is not relevant because of the non-windproof, historic building. The bathrooms/toilets are mechanically ventilated (coupled with light switches).
In the smoking room, heating with the tiled stove with stove plate is preferred because of the cozy atmosphere. In the sleeping spaces on the upper floor, the wood stoves cannot be heated (exhaust pipes clogged) to prevent incorrect operation and the resulting risk of fire.
For this purpose, there is a radiator on the side of the wardrobes for tempering the bedrooms in winter.

conventional filter coffee machine with thermos flask, kettle, bread slicer, toaster,
Soda stream with 4 glass bottles (please bring your own cartridges),
sufficient cooking and dining utensils, cutlery and glasses.
Hallway: On the sideboard (next to the entrance) are hand and surface disinfectants,
1 small beverage refrigerator,
wicker basket for glass bottles,
seat cushions for patio benches/loungers, vacuum cleaner + broom next to the door to the terrace
Anteroom to the bathrooms: washing machine with integrated dryer, hair dryer + iron
Vaulted cellar: left area for guests - ideal for storing beverage boxes, vegetables.
Vinegar, oil, etc. on the middle rack is freely usable.
Terrace: gas grill with grill grate, wooden tables, wooden benches/armchairs and wooden deck chairs

Wood storage: wood for the stove in the living room with a chopper for chopping,
Collection area for organic waste and paper waste, snow shovel and sled for winter
WASTE SEPARATION:
The waste separation is described very precisely in the house rules and is available in the house. In the case of broken glass, glass or plastic packaging with remaining contents in the residual waste and packaging waste bags or organic waste containers, the final cleaning amount will be charged twice and must be paid on site. -

Glass and bottles:
Empty bottles and rinsed glasses in the wicker basket in the hallway (please do not put them in the packaging and residual waste bags - due to RISK OF INJURY FROM GLASS SHARDS during disposal!!!) Glass collection containers are set up at the municipal building yard and at BILLA in Schwarzach, please dispose of larger quantities yourself, thank you.
Cardboard/paper/newspapers:
shredded in brown paper bag or cardboard or paper shopping bags in the wood storage
Packaging waste:
in the "yellow bag": cans, plastic + plastic packaging, PET bottles without deposit marking, beverage and milk cartons
Residual waste
in the "gray bag" with the imprint "Hettegger Entsorgung." Please line the residual waste container under the sink in the kitchen with a plastic bag. When the container is full, tie the plastic bag well and put it in the "gray bag" so that the garbage is well packed - it is only picked up once a month by the disposal company Hettegger.
Organic waste:
In containers lined with green organic waste bags in the kitchen, when the container is full, tie the bag and dispose of it in the black container provided in the wood storage area.
Ash from the wood-burning stove in the sitting room:
in the tin can (stands in the open space in front of the wood storage), no cigarette butts!
One gray residual waste bag and one yellow bag are included in the rental as standard. In the event of additional requirements, €5.00 per residual waste bag and €0.00 per yellow bag will be charged. These amounts include the disposal fee. Neutral garbage bags (without Hettegger Entsorgung imprint) will not be accepted by the garbage disposal company!
PARKING the cars:
To the north, behind the farmhouse along the road is the parking lot for about 4 cars.

Please do not park on the unpaved area in the meadow. In the meadow area between the paved parking lot along the road and the farmhouse is the underground tank for the oil heating.
Any damage to the tank dome should be avoided, so only park cars at the paved parking lot and do not let children jump on it.
For loading and unloading, place the vehicle only briefly in front of the entrance area of the old farmhouse!

Pet/dog:
1 peaceful, obedient dog is welcome. Please specify when booking, extra charge € 40.
The 4 bedrooms and the wooden staircase to the upper floor of the house are off limits for the dog for hygienic reasons. Space is in the hallway area or in the sitting room. Please use your own dog blanket or dog nest as a sleeping/resting place.
The house is located in the farmyard of the farmer with animals, please do not let the dog run free.
Please dispose of the dog's "leftovers" around the house area in the gray residual waste bag (double-packed).
Please observe the dog keeping regulations of the market town of St. Veit in the house.
FARM in the neighborhood:
The "Hist. Bauernhaus Hochrainberg" is located in the farm association of the Hochrainberg estate (agricultural farm building with cows, calves, cats, etc., new farmhouse).
This is also the territory of "Bella" the farm dog, who is used to small children and has attended dog school.
If you want to look in the barn, please ask the farmer/farmer's wife beforehand (don't forget!).
