About This Listing
Has a pool open during summer and central heating for the winter! This room is comfortable and bright, the building and neighborhood are very safe. Four subway stops away from downtown. Also available for long stays. Has a large desk for students.
This is a beautiful private room, with a shared bathroom in a shared apartment where I live.
The room is 7,8 square meters, has a xl double bed (2 meters long, 1.35 m wide), a bedside table, a lamp and a large desk.
The apartment is very well located, central but far enough to avoid downtown's noisy environment, many guests have been gladly surprised for the quiet night in such the big city.
The apartment is large (100m2). The building is super modern, with a pool, sauna, jacuzzi, small-gym (The pool is free and the other prices are low, the pool is open only in the summer).
The common areas: living room/dinning room & kitchen are available to the guests, the idea is for you to feel as if you were at home!
The rent includes full house privileges: Internet via WIFI, kitchen, TV and DVD access, washing machine and basic expenses (water, electricity and gas) plus a cleaning lady every other week.
Interaction with Guests
I work so I am usually away office hours on weekdays, but I like to enjoy dinner with my guests when possible and if they want to.
I live at this apartment, I shift between rooms according to which are rented.
The building is 2 blocks from supermarkets, and several pharmacy’s. Also ten minutes away (walking) is the trendy barrio Italia with several cool little boutiques, lovely restaurants and coffee shops, within walking distance we have thai, peruvian, vietnamese, indian, italian, sushi and of course chilean restaurants.
A jump (180m) from Irrarazabal/Salvador Intersection, it has plentiful transport all day until maybe 1am when frequency goes down but buses continue to run all night long. If in a hurry, taxis are cheap since we are pretty close to downtown and Providencia.
The apartment is 1 kilometer away from Irarrazabal Metro Station to link on to Santiago's very safe and clean subway system. Althought the subway only works until 11pm.
Other Things to Note
Some details; We have plenty of hot water, the water boiler works continuously, automatic and is central to the building, not inside the apartment.
The apartment has central heating!!! its lovely and toasty!! (althought only active during the Winter- May to August), there is a radiator inside each bedroom and one in the living room. This is not a common feature in Chile.
The internet connection is fast, 15mbps download and 1,4mbps upload.
The apartment is on a second floor in case you are afraid of our Chilean earthquakes, although you should feel safe anywhere in this regard since Santiago's arquitecture has proved to be well prepared for these events.
All guests are required to wash their dirty dishes, cutlery, pots an pans after using them. It is also very important to put them away once they have dried.
To avoid clogging the plumbing, please, do not let food debris enter the drain of the sink.
Clean sheets & towels will be provided for every guest and these will be changed by the cleaning lady every 2 weeks. If the guest desires to wash his/her sheets more often the washing machine is always available to be used.
Guests are allowed to use the washing machine and all other appliances of the common areas, the idea is for everyone to feel as though they were at home!
This apartment was clean, the neighborhood was safe, and my bed was so comfortable. The internet was fast, the kitchen was modern, and I felt like it was home. The worst part about staying here is that I don't think I'll be able to find a host better than Camila. She treated me with utmost respect and kindness. She is personable, smart, friendly, and helpful. I'm going to try to stay here as often as I can when I go to Santiago, and if not, I'm still going to stop by to buy some of her delicious homemade peanut butter. I would recommend this to be a place for anyone to stay when they go to Santiago.
Excelente anfitriã simpática e sempre prestativa, apartamento bem espaçoso e excelente localização.
Camila is a great host, nice, easygoing and helpful. I felt straight away at her place and Camila helped me a lot to start my stay in Chile perfectly. The flat is very cosy and comfy, it is very well located and near the transports, very easy to enjoy Santiago from there. I would definitely come back! Thank you Camila for those days and everything esle!
My stay at Camila's was great. The neighborhood and apartment were gorgeous, but the thing I liked most was the feel of commumity and liveliness in the apartment. Between Camila and the other airbnb resident (who, for my stay at least, was awesome) there was always someone studying, cooking, or chatting it up with a guest. If a vibrant atmosphere filled with enthusiastic individuals is something you're into, I recommend Camila's.
Camila was an amazing host! I stayed with her for two months while doing thesis research in Santiago, and she helped make my stay in the city an incredible one. She was very friendly, introducing me to her friends and family in the city, and she gave me great recommendations about her favorite restaurants and bars in the city. The apartment was a great size, especially the kitchen, and it has central heating, which is rare in Santiago and a huge plus for the winter months. What I most liked about the apartment was the relaxed atmosphere—Camila, I, and the other guests all had our own things to do, but we still found time to hang out, eat together, and have movie nights. If you're coming to Santiago, I would highly recommend staying with Camila.

About the Host, Camila
My name is Camila, I'm 32 years old and I have a B.A in Biotechnology from Universidad de Chile.
As work I freelance and I just finished my thesis, I usually work a lot, partially from home. In my spare time I enjoy watching series or a movie, going out to eat, watch a band or go dancing.
I like having people floating around my apartment since it feels like it becomes more alive. I love sharing with people from different cultures. To have conversations over home prepared diverse meals.
I have several listings, some of them are located at my apartment and the others at friends or parents apartments: Rodrigo and Nancy, whom are also wonderful hosts.
I hope all my guests feel very welcome, with the freedom and independence to do what they may.
